We Came, We Saw....We Celebrated! Our November Beach Club vacation! UPDATED March 12!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all staying warm and toasty if you're in a cold weather place! :santa: I'm in Iowa and although we shouldn't have any measurable snow this weekend, it's COLD.....so I think today I am going to hibernate inside and play on the DIS. :cool1:

So, let's get on with it.....Monday, November 8th PART 2!!

After finishing up the Tour, Sadie and I called her Mom and Buzz to meet up with them. They were just leaving Toon Town and so we decided to meet at the Carousel. After meeting up, we were on our way!

The big news for this trip was that Buzz was now 40.5" tall  so he could ride more rides! His first rollercoaster was the Barnstormer, and he LOVED it, my aunt reported back.

Since we were near the Carousel, we decided to take a ride. My Aunt doesn't care for anything that spins, so I take one for the team and do those rides with the kids. :rotfl: I really do like them, though - it's funny; I don't care for really extreme rides (like ToT, for example) but I love the Teacups and that type of ride. My aunt is the exact opposite; sign her up for RNR, ToT, etc....but she would probably be done for the day if she rode Teacups!

The next few attractions we saw were the Carousel, It's a Small World, and Haunted Mansion!

Justin decided that he was brave enough for another coaster, so we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain! We were wondering what he would think - but he LOVED it!!! His hands were in the air the whole time, and he wanted to go over and over again. The crowds were actually pretty good this morning, and so he was able to ride twice! After his triumph at the Mountain, I had to get his picture!

IMG_0623.jpg

Way to go, Buzz!!

The rest of the afternoon was spent walking leisurely around MK, riding what had short waits and what the kids wanted to do. We ran into a few friends...

IMG_0625.jpg

I can't remember when we left the park, where we ate dinner, etc....I cannot find my trip journal at this moment so I'll have to come back and edit that. We had an ADR nearly every day so I just can't recall....hmmm... :upsidedow It'll come to me!

After a nice day, we headed back to Beach Club. Our tooties were tired, and so Belle and I took advantage of the fact that a quiet pool was literally 4 steps from our room. She took a few laps in the pool and then we sat in the hot tub.....ahh....sweet bliss. :lovestruc I would love to be there right now!!

We had a fantastic first full day at our favorite place. Tuesday would dawn bright and early, so after a super day we went to bed.

THANKS, READERS! :cheer2: HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, SEE YOU AGAIN REAL SOON!

Two of Brooklynn's favorites now, too. :)
Big Thunder is a nice coaster. It's a big one, but it's not too crazy, jerky, or fast.

You're right, it's a good starter coaster. :). I asked him afterwards if he was nervous at all and he said "l'm 4, I'm not scared of anything!" :)

Hi friends! I have a non-TR update; I think I'll do these postings in PINK so we can tell the difference between these and the TR. :thumbsup2

I had a Disney gift card and saw they had the Toy Story Vinylmation's in stock again :cool1: so I bought some. I think I may get more, but we'll see. I want to get a shelf in my spare room / Disney room. I think each trip, I'll get a few of these along with a stuffed animal from that trip. :lovestruc It's kinda fun because you don't know which ones you are getting - that might freak out other people but it's kinda fun to me! :woohoo:

Here they are!! I still have to figure out a better setting on my camera - some of these come out really shiny and bright. I got 2 of Rex the Dinosaur, and 1 each of Woody, Big Baby and Hamm.

If anyone wants the other Rex, let me know, I'd be happy to mail him to you. :thumbsup2 Send me a PM, first come first served! :cool1:

Have a great night! Stay warm, everyone!

Hey there!
I'm here! I've been subscribed, but so far behind and just had a chance to read all the updates! What an AWESOME room location! That would be Joe's ideal spot, he loves soaking in the hot tub after a day at the parks.

So glad the tour was a success. And very neat to get to do it right before it ended. :thumbsup2

That is hilarious! I'm a bit bummed Barnstormer will be closed because I think Henry might brave that now. All well, he'll conquer it when it opens again!

Hi :wave2:

I came over this morning to get all caught up on your TR....great start so far! :thumbsup2

Awww...the Beach Club is my ultimate dream resort.
You are soo lucky to get to stay there! :)

I havn't done any of the WDW tours...looks like it was fun!

Brave little Buzz...my DMom went on Barnstormer with my DD and she was so scared. (it didn't help that they had just shut it down with a train stuck on the high hill right before she got on)
:rotfl: ....bad daughter, I shouldn't laugh but her face was priceless.
I told her she didn't have to ride but she didn't want my DD to go alone.
She would have been fine...she was 10 at the time.

Very cute Toy Story Vinylmations!
So far all I have is the Vinylmations wallet. I really want the palm tree one and the holiday ones too.

Hope to see you at NYE 2012!

Hello!! Welcome to my humble and sad little Trip Report. :upsidedow

We were very excited to stay there...my aunt called exactly 7 months out and lo and behold, we were able to stay there!

I do so hope to be at the Poly on NYE. I figure, even if I fly in the 30th and fly out the 1st or the 2nd, and make it a quick trip, that will be fine. Depending on the budget, I might not even get park tickets, but just go down, relax, hop to resorts and take pictures, etc.

Welcome again!! Thanks for coming over!! :hippie:

OK friends....

This little TR is sad and neglected, but I'm back baby!   My updates and DIS time should be easier starting next week because...

I ordered the iPad 2 today!!!   I'm so excited to get it, and now with a more reliable computer I'll be able to Dis more and stay on top of updates. Cause now, I have this trip to finish PLUS a TR for the cruise we took in February. Phew! So I've got work to do.

But in the meantime...

I posted over on BrooklynnsMommy and MeMom's TR about some stamp sets that I am offering, for FREE! The company I bought them from isn't keen on selling them on Ebay, etc and I need to get rid of some things that I don't use anymore.

So I am posting the pictures here and doing a first come, first served system. If you would like any sets, please just PM me with your address and I'll mail them to you!

So here they are - I'll probably have to continue in a few posts:

Thanks ladies and gents, for taking these off my hands! As I said in MeMom and BrooklynnsMommy's TR, one of my goals for 2011 is to de-clutter my house, so this is one step closer to doing that!

Have a super duper weekend!

Hey Katie! Coming over from MeMom's report  As soon as I saw that you stayed at Beach Club I HAD to read...it's my dream resort ever since I saw it for the first time last year, going between DTD and Epcot. :rotfl:

I adore that picture on the empty Main Street. Not only is it an empty Main Street, but the Christmas decorations are all up! Love it! Can't wait to read more!

Welcome! Thanks for coming over!

Beach Club is pretty fabulous - between the short walk to Epcot and HS and then Stormalong Bay....can't get any cooler than that! :woohoo:

Those Main Street pictures are fun, aren't they? That's for sure a plus of those morning tours - you get to get in early and take some great photos!

Glad to have you on board!

Happy Saturday, friends!

Let's pick up where we left off.

Tuesday, November 9th dawned bright and lovely! We let ourselves sleep in a bit, then got ready and decided to ride the water taxi from Beach Club over to Hollywood Studios! It was a gorgeous November day in Orlando.

I texted the photo below to my boss below; she was jealous. :rotfl:

IMG_0631.jpg

We only waited a few minutes, then we were off!

IMG_1841.jpg

IMG_1840.jpg

Buzz wanted me to take this picture of a duck.

IMG_1844.jpg

We went by the Swan and Dolphin hotels...

IMG_1846.jpg

We knew we were close when we saw this guy! No thanks! :scared1: Did that once, never have to do it again! :scared1:

IMG_1847.jpg

We got in line to enter, ready for a fun day at HS!

Continued below...

I didn't take any pictures of this next story but this was so funny!

We were entering Hollywood Studios and in front of us was a group of probably 10-12 men and women in their late teens/early 20s. It was so sweet because even though they were tattooed from head to toe, lots of piercings, etc....the boys all had matching Buzz Lightyear shirts on! :rotfl: It was the sweetest thing...they were very excited to be starting their day in Disney World! I wish I would have taken a picture!

I am pretty sure that we got fastpasses for Toy Story Mania, and then stood in line to ride right away. :upsidedow I think that's how it went. That's the story we'll stick with, anyway.

We got in line and waited - but it really wasn't that long. I want to say it was for sure under an hour, probably close to 45 minutes. Buzz and Belle LOVE this ride, so they were very good about waiting patiently.

IMG_1876.jpg

We then made our way to Mr Potato Head, took some VERY quick pictures and kept walking. In front of us in line were two gals who were having a great time and I didn't want to get peeved, but I think they literally stopped the line every 2-3 minutes to take pictures of each other posing in front of things in line. Again, I know they were having TONS of fun and I didn't want to be a crab but I think this is one of the reasons that line moves so slowly....everyone is stopping for 2-3 minutes at each picture spot. But I digress. I don't want to be Ms Crabby Vacationer.:cool2:

IMG_1879.jpg

IMG_1882.jpg

After a short wait, we were ready to ride!

IMG_1883.jpg

I rode with Belle - and she really whipped my behind! I don't want to spoil any surprises, but let's just say that later in the day, when we had our fastpasses, I showed her a thing or two! :rotfl:

Continued below...

After our TSM ride (my first time! I loved it!) we walked around and made our way to the Playhouse Disney / Animation area.

We passed the Great Movie Ride...we rode later, but not right at this time. We had the gangster again - I don't think I've ever had the cowboy.

IMG_1886.jpg

We first decided to go to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for Buzz:

IMG_1858.jpg

IMG_1854.jpg

IMG_1857.jpg

IMG_1856.jpg

We then went to Little Mermaid for Belle. Buzz was less than thrilled with doing a "girl thing" but since the show was short, he got over it. :lmao:

After Little Mermaid, we went into the Animation area to see what characters we could find!

IMG_1859.jpg

We hit the big time! Saw some of our favorites and got GREAT pictures!! That Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite Mickey. Love him! :cutie:

After seeing some friends, we walked around before our late lunch reservation at Sci Fi Diner.

IMG_1863.jpg

IMG_1864.jpg

IMG_1865.jpg

That nice Mr. Snowman makes his way into lots of pictures, doesn't he?

I don't have any pictures of our meal, but it was good! I've read mixed review on Sci Fi but for us, it's great. The prices are GREAT ($12.99 for a burger and fries at a table service is a deal at Disney) and the kids love it. We each had burgers and shakes, and then moved on.

At this point, we split up a bit. Belle and my aunt wanted to ride ToT and RnR and since Buzz couldn't (and I'm a chicken and won't :scared1:) We walked around the stores, shopped and Buzz picked out a Vinylmation he wanted. In this set he picked, he got Stitch! He wanted the Pirate but understood the concept of "you don't know what you're getting" and so he was happy. Would he get that pirate later in the trip?! Stay tuned!

When we met up again, we used the Fastpasses and rode TSM again. And this time, I won!! :dance3: It's sad that I get satisfaction at beating an 10 year old at a game, but it's the little things, right! :woohoo:

Before we left, the characters were taking pictures at Toy Story and we didn't want to miss them!

Buzz loves Army men. My brother Patrick is in the Army, and now Buzz says that when he grows up, he's going to be a soldier like Patrick. :lovestruc

IMG_1887.jpg

The line for this picture spot is the best!! Lots of cute places for kids to get pictures. The back story on this is: Buzz was melting down fast and wasn't excited to take pictures. His mom talked to him and basically said, be nice and do this for Mommy. He smiled and took sweet pictures with Buzz and Woody and then when we left, he said something to the effect of , "I smiled but I didn't want to!" :rotfl: But at least he did!!

After taking pictures with our friends from Toy Story, we walked through to see the Osborne Lights. This was incredible! There were lots of people and we had kids who were tired, so we just walked through. But it was so cool!

We then made our way to the exit....and then the COOLEST thing happened!

Belle and I stood in line to get popcorn buckets while Buzz and my aunt went the candy store. We were just going to snack for dinner, since we ate a late lunch. We got our popcorn, then went into the candy store and saw this!!

IMG_0641.jpg

It turns out they just started this experience that day - and Buzz was the 3rd kid to do it!! They gave him a hat, some gloves, and some marshmallows on a stick. He then dipped them in chocolate and they gave him all sorts of toppings he could choose. It was the neatest thing!!! He was so happy, and it really perked him up from being tired.

IMG_0639.jpg

It was the PERFECT end to a great day!! We went back to Beach Club, ate our snacks and relaxed in the room.

PHEW!! Updates galore, huh? Hope you enjoyed reading about our day at Hollywood Studios!!

Have a super weekend, everyone!

~ Katie princess:

Man, if I got a treat like that at the end of the day, I would totally perk up too!

Sounds like you guys had a great day at DHS. I love taking the boat from the Beach Club when the weather is nice.

Beach Club is AMAZING!!! I think I would live there it's so beautiful!!!

Love the pics from DHS... The kids got the Wii version of TSM for Christmas and it's a blast to play... And no wait!!! :lmao:

The marshmallow thingy that Buzz got looks yummy!!! :thumbsup2

My youngest turns 3 next week and he's been to Disney twice already... But I told him he can't go again until he's out of diapers... He's sitting here looking at the pics as I'm reading your TR and I told him I really want to go to Disney... His reply "I'm sorry Mommy, me still wear diapers"...

Remind me when you went again...

I'm hoping like crazy to go at Thanksgiving and DH keeps wanting to change my plans. Anyways...he would like to stay someplace nice and the beach club would be my first choice but that would be for SAB. I see you wearing shorts in your pics, was it warm enough to want to be in water?

Sounds like a fun day at DHS and yay for Buzz' special moment!
