I am so thrilled. We called Disney today!! We should be hearing back from them this week about everything. We hope our wedding is going to be late September.
How did your family and friends feel about traveling to get to your wedding? I mean, his dad thinks I should do it in his backyard with his planes, and that's fine but my mom and I are paying for the wedding. I want a Disney wedding. My fiance's grandma is afraid of flying(and everyone in their family owns a plane, go figure), and because the mother in law (who is dead now) loved Disney they get all misty eyed and don't want to go. And they have Disney things all over their houses! The grandma has a bathroom covered from ceiling to floor in Disney stuff!! Go figure.
My dad died, and Dan's mom and his twin brother died. I want it at Disney because it would just be a special event where we're celebrating life, not mourning death. I really don't care what they think and will go ahead to plan my Disney wedding because that's what I want. But I still feel bad. But I am not going through the drama of 'well so and so can't come on that weekend so you have to move the date because they HAVE to be there'. Either they come on the date, time and place or they don't. It's my wedding, not theirs. Am I so wrong? Any ideas from folks who have gone through similar events? Thank you!
