We bought a resale of 324 DVC points at the Boardwalk, we had bought 170 in January 2000, and now have a total of 494. This gives us enough points to stay 4 weeks every year over Christmas and New Year.

It was not at the prices Dean seems to find, but it saved us $10,100.00 Australian on the total purchase when you compare it to paying $84.00 per point for BCV from Disney. We have to be in the USA to be able to purchase DVC and our next trip is Christmas 2002.

We will probably only stay 3 weeks each year, but use the extra points if friends want to go or just stay in a 1 bedroom. As everbody seems to agree, you can never have enough points.

The resale had a September use year, the same as our existing points, and Disney have added to our existing contract. This makes the banking and booking much easier than having two contracts.

Thanks to Jaki at A Timeshare Broker www.atimeshare.com she has been absolutely fantastic and helpful with the whole process, my apologies when I rang her at the wrong time due to the time difference.

We almost had problems with the purchase, at the time we were in the middle of a refinance on an existing business loan, and needed about 50% of the balance payment from the extra finance. Before I would pay the deposit, I had to make sure the refinance would be settled in time to make the final payment, anyway, it worked out easily and far quicker than I expected.
Thanks also to the help from Disboard, it answered a lot of questions over the last 9 months, reading the various posts.
