We have driven to Vancouver, passing through Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg and many points in between. We have also been to Montreal and some areas around Quebec, we are thinking of going further east next month. I would love to here what all you great Canadian Disers think we should see and where we should go. The only thing our kids really want to do is to see some whales. Other than this we are really open to anything.

Your thoughts are really much appreciated.

We are thinking maybe about 10-12 days and this is more an exploring trip rather than a specific destination and stay for a week kind of trip.

Thanks,

In NB~ Fundy Park, Cape Enrage, Pays de la Sagouine and lots more!
In NS~ Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail, Halifax, Fortress of Louisbourg
All of PEI.

Hopewell Rocks in NB is breathtaking! You can walk on the ocean floor and if you stick around you can watch the tide come in and go kayaking. Bring your Camera! and it's near Magnetic Hill and Cape Enrage ( posted above!).
Cavendish in PEI is nice - don't forget to get some Cows ice cream and t-shirt :yay:
I'm not a fan of Fundy but I"m not a hiker/camper kind of girl ;)

Definitely the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton....but if you don't have the time for that there is a "Mini Cabot Trail" around Cape George in Antigonish. The lighthouse there was the topic for a book Robert Munsch wrote "Lighthouse A Book of Remebrance" about the lighthouse at Cape George, so if you've read the book that might be fun! There are also lots of great beaches around Antigonish, and August is a great time to go, also for some whale watching.

Thanks to those who repesonded, we are still in the planning stages of this trip but are really excited. I have already started researching some of the places mentioned and some look fantastic.

If anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to add.

Again thanks to those who have responded and got the ball rolling for planning.

This one is a lot tougher than planning a Disney trip, there is no "DIS" type place to go for this trip.:)

If your family really enjoys history, besides Louisburg, you can also go to Kings Landing just outside Fredericton NB, and the Citadel in Halifax. Of course, there's Peggy's Cove just south of Halifax, as well.

Anne Musical in Charlottetown is great to see at least once.
Windmills in West Cape or North Cape PEI

Someone mentioned Cow's Ice Cream. They have a new location where you can tour their 'factory' in North River PEI.

Grew up in Magnetic Hill (Lutes Mountain) The Game Farm Zoo is well worth a look.

The Rocks at Hopewell Cape are well worth the drive.

Drive to Louisburg is long but worth it as well.

Kings Landing is a nice return to the late 18th century. Great meals at the Kings Head Inn.

The Bridge to PEI was a draw for a number of years itself.

Lobster suppers on PEI are world famous

go to destination nova scotia dot com and order their planning book, also tourism pei has a planner too. I never looked into New brunswick as we're not headed that way but they likely have a book to plan with as well.

We're heading down in 2 days woo hoo! and are super excited. the tall ships are in halifax right now. We're spending time all over nova scotia, cape bretton island and PEI. 2 fantastic weeks to come. I'll post some of my favorites when we return!
