I'm on my way...

...to adding that festival to my bucket list!

Wow, that beer and bacon fest sounds perfect for my son!

There was so much bacon, chocolate covered, spicy, maple, lasagne were the noodles were bacon, candy with bacon in it, chili made from huge chunks of bacon. There was popcorn flavored with bacon. There was so much that by the time we left, I smelled smoky....

Plus good craft beer to wash everything down with.

We get to the resort and our room is not ready, so we leave everything with Bell Services and head to the parks. Our friends will not be there until later.

DSC_0005-1.jpg

So we opt for the Guacamole and chips, a blood orange and hibiscus margaritas.
DSC_0007.jpg

These are so good, I just crave them, and the Guac is freshly made when you order it.

Next we decide that we need some queso dip and chips...

At this point we head to pick up the rental car, and the Swan and then pick up our friends at AKV.

After we pick up our friends we head out to Wal-Mart, to buy some food and beer and wine of course and then we made the mistake of trying to find some place to eat.... It is about 11 pm now and we end up at Friday's... After much food and drinks we return back to WDW....

it was a very lazy start to the morning, we were not in a hurry to go anywhere, so we just took our time.

Our friends joined us over at our room, and then we went to France to pick up some breakfast.

DSC_0032-1.jpg

DSC_0033.jpg

DSC_0036.jpg

We decided to pass on anything from the booth yet, we were just having breakfast...

We headed over to the slushie machines...
DSC_0037.jpg

DSC_0038.jpg

DSC_0039.jpg

I wanted the orange one it is my favorite and I had been craving it since May, so now I had to have one, to start my trip off right...

DSC_0040.jpg

Diana had to get one too.
DSC_0041.jpg

DSC_0042.jpg

Belgium is next, in the flow of the day, I think we aer still too early to enjoy the heavy food, so we keep walking.

DSC_0043-1.jpg

Now we have made our way to Portugal
DSC_0044.jpg

I think David wants something, he is in line..
DSC_0045.jpg

DSC_0046.jpg

Linguica Sausage with Onions, Peppers, and Olives–$4.00, this was ok, I was bowled over by it, and David did not like the olives.

Calamari Salad with Fennel, Olive Oil, and Smoked Paprika–$2.75, now this was a different story. We both enjoyed this a good bit. I was worried that it would be rubbery but it was not, cooked perfectly.

next we head over to Morocco, and into the showcase.
DSC_0048.jpg

DSC_0049.jpg

DSC_0050.jpg

DSC_0051.jpg

After spending alot of time in Morocco, that I can't remember us doing anything productive with, we left, and continued the walk around the countries.

Next up New Zealand
DSC_0052.jpg

DSC_0053.jpg

David in line again...

DSC_0055.jpg

Seared Sea Scallop with Kumara-Red Curry Puree and Apple Radish Salad–$4.25, David and I both thought that the scallop was cooked perfectly, but the Apple Slaw was just gross.

These banners are really neat I might look at one next year when they make the bags out of them. I picked up one this year that has the 15 from last years 15th year of the festival.
DSC_0054.jpg

next we come to Japan
DSC_0057.jpg

DSC_0058.jpg

David in line again...

this is the sake that I like but can never remember which one it is...
DSC_0059.jpg

Tuna and Salmon Sensation–$5.95, this was so wonderful, it was better than last years. The Salmon was so buttery and I could have eaten that all day and been happy.

DSC_0060.jpg

DSC_0061.jpg

Next up Singapore
DSC_0062.jpg

DSC_0063.jpg

In the past we have had really bad luck with Singapore so we just skipped this for and I am sure we will from now on.

Hops and Barley was next.
DSC_0064.jpg

we were so looking forward to this one. David wanted to try the Linda Bean’s Lobster Claw Cuddler with drawn Butter–$6.50. We were so disappointed in this. We told everyone who would listen not to get it. It was so bad.

DSC_0065.jpg

We also picked up a 16th Anniversary Festival Beer Boston Ale®–$5.50 to wash it all down with.

DSC_0066.jpg

This was all that was in the big claw...
DSC_0067.jpg

Next we went to Italy, I love going into the showcase and walking around, It has such great memories for me, when I went the first time to Italy.

We each got a shot of the Lemoncello in the freezer in the gift store... That always cools me off when it is hot at WDW..

DSC_0083.jpg

For lunch we picked up the Ravioli Di Formaggio All’Emiliana (Baked Cheese Ravioli with Creamy Beef Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan Cheese, Melted Mozzarella)–$4.50 in Italy. It was so good, so creamy and gooey, and just plain good.

DSC_0085.jpg

these are Olives growing on threes right there next to the Gelato cart...
DSC_0086.jpg

Next stop Poland, but we decided to save it for later.
DSC_0082.jpg

DSC_0087.jpg

this has to be a stop every time we are in WDW, neither one of will eat it right now, but this we will be wonderful later tonight around bed time...

DSC_0088.jpg

DSC_0089.jpg

So we walk on into Germany and I always love this crystal castle.
DSC_0090.jpg

DSC_0091.jpg

DSC_0092.jpg

DSC_0093.jpg

DSC_0094.jpg

We did not get anything from Germany today.

We skipped on the Cheese also
DSC_0095.jpg

We decide since it is so hot we need a couple of beers to cool us off.
DSC_0096.jpg

DSC_0097.jpg

I got the Beer Flight number 1, I wanted to try that smoked wheat beer.
Radeberger Pilsner, Schofferhofer Weizen and the Rauchweizen Roog Smoked Wheat Bier, all three were good but I am not Pilsner drinker, the darker the better for me, but since it was darn hot out, I drank all three and was glad to have them..

Next was South Korea
DSC_0099.jpg

We skipped this for today also.

I had read on the DIS about this wonderful drink at the Joy of Tea call the Plum Green Tea. It was a slushie made from Plum Wine and green tea and ginger. To me this sounded refreshing and I wanted one.
DSC_0100.jpg

It is on the menu, but they told me that they did not have any, I asked if they would have some later in the week and they told me that they would not longer be selling it. But they had a version at the booth.

So I walk over to China and see
DSC_0101.jpg

Only difference is no Ginger and just poured over ice, not a slushie.

I was pouting now and just walked away.

Because I was pouting David walked over and got one for me to try anyway...
DSC_0102.jpg

DSC_0103.jpg

we went into China and walked around and watched the movie where the air was cool..

After we returned back to the heat, we found Scandinavia next.
DSC_0104.jpg

Next was Mexico

DSC_0126.jpg

Now the room to rest up before dinner.

Oh, Brandi, the food porn is killing me.<me
Looks like a lot of fun.

Dinner was at Sanna over at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge

DSCN2319.JPG

sanaa2.jpg

We made it just in time for our reservation, 7:40 PM, it was dark outside and very quite in the resort. I was surprised that there were not more people milling about.

We went into the lounge area and ordered drinks waiting for our table.

I got something called an eco tini, it came with some wooden beaded bracelet, and David got Scotch. the bar are was nice and friendly feeling, there was no one in there with us.

IMAG0287.jpg

IMAG0112.jpg

Here is the menu.
sanaa-menu-dinner_Page_2.jpg

We started with the bread service Naan *2 and Onion Kulcha with accompaniments Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Coriander Chutney and Red Chile Sambal

We enjoyed these so much, I was afraid we were going to fill up too much on the bread.

IMAG0097.jpg

The Chef, then sent us some bubbly for our anniversary.
IMAG0098.jpg

Diana ordered the Tandoori Chicken served with Apricot-Raisin Chutney and choice of Basmati Rice or Five-Grain Pilaf
IMAG0100.jpg

David got the Beef Short Ribs and Spicy Durban Shrimp with Basmati Rice
IMAG0101.jpg

Jim and I both ordered the Shrimp with Green Curry Sauce and the Coconut-Curry Lamb with Basmati Rice
IMAG0102.jpg

We also ordered a bottle of wine with dinner that Diana and I ended up drinking, Jim and David stuck the hard stuff.

Dessert was the Dessert Trio Chocolate Cake, Tropical Fruit Kulfi, and Chai Cream

I have had Kulfi and bunch and none that ever tasted like this. It was not bad, it was good, but it was not what I was expecting.

IMAG0103.jpg

After dinner we went back outside and our DHs were not feeling much pain and we walked back to Jambo House, we needed to after all the food but the boys were just too darn loud. But we were laughing alot.

We got them back to their room easily and we headed off to catch the shuttle back to DHS and then walk back to BCV, but we opted for a cab instead, just too much trouble.
