We are in charge of a Mickey Mouse/Disney Parade

in our community...any ideas on how people can decorate their golfcart...cheaply?

cheaply as far as materials-rummage through garages for cardboard, cardboard tubes and such. thrift stores often have partial rolls of foam (or new in packaging foam mattress pads) which can be cut and shaped.

as far as decorating-i can see a simple tweak to a cart to make it into the jungle cruise. give the driver a captains hat, toy megaphone and a cap pistol (maybe put stuffed animals inside and THEY are the riders cruising and seeing the exotic parade crowd). a doom buggy? hit up someone with halloween decorations. some of the car's characters (just the eyes and mouths could pull it off). toy story? sporky would be easily made out of cardboard and spray paint.

Reuse/Repurpose stuff ~ For a decade I built a Haunted House each year (about 8 rooms) and I learned to scope out cheap and changeable items.

Thrift stores can give you cheap supplies from Disney plush you don't feel bad "destroying" to Disney sheets and blankets. Goodwills have what we call a junk aisle and find so much of the holiday tulle, ribbon, and other crafty supplies super super cheap. Dollar Store has some good stuff that can be used as is or painted to reflect theme. Grab all the pool noodles you can they are always huge help in structure and design. We save big boxes (flatten and store) as they make great decor bases that are lightweight. Depending on theme blow foam does some great decor and can be painted.
