We are FINALLY going to be able to see Disney during the holidays! Thanks to the way New Years fell on the calendar, I'm actually going to be able to be in WDW for New Years Eve! Plus we got a deal on a hotel we couldn't pass up!

So we are going to be there from 12/30 to 1/5 - Who wants to trade some pins?? :D

You got your room!! How cool is that??!! As we discussed, we'll certainly do our best to get together somehow during your stay! Will be in touch more as the time draws near!

Disney at the Holidays is a blast. You can just spend hours looking at the decorations. And you have to see the Grand Floridian... WOW!!! Have a great time.

Lauri.....WDW at the Holidays is awesome!! We were there for New Year's about five years ago. It cannot be put into words. I'll pray that you're feeling well during your trip!

Disney during the Holidays is a real treat! Have a great time. We have been there for New Years the last couple of years and have loved it!! Can't go this year, but hope to go back for more in the future!!

I'll be there! Perhaps we could have a meet at the Adventurer's Club on the 30th, although without the boy toy it won't be the same. Seriously, if you think you would be up to it on your first night in town, let's do some organizing. I'm sure Dom will come, too.

I would love to get together. I will be meeting an aunt that I have not seen in over 10 years while I am down ther this trip. Not sure when this is happening but I sure I can work around it. Especially for pins!

Lauri,
Congratulations!!! NYE at Disney is very magical--the Christmas decorations are to die for! We have been for NYE quite a few times, but are going at the beginning of December this year. Have a great time!!!!

We Contemporanians are just thrilled that you are coming...we read your earlier post when you were
trying to make up your mind between DL & WDW...and we won....

They just put up the Big tree at the Cont. and it is already decorated inside..as they say..It's beginning
to look a lot like Christmas..already..our favourite time of year...

We are doing the Osborne Lights on Sat....can't wait...

So we can't wait to see you, hope you are going to rest up so you can run around and see everything..

If there is anything Raul & I can do let us know...should be some great pin meets...

:bounce: :bounce:

Hey Wait I will be there! I live there, and now you're coming which makes it twice as awesome.

Ooooo oooo trade with me! Trade with me! I have pins… a few to be exact. Last count three.

Woohoo Lauri's coming to Florida… hey do we need to roll out a rug at the airport? Or will the local swamp water bilge pump suck rats High School band playing "Hail hail the pins all here" do it for ya? Let me will you the boy get so excited when they get to play.:D

Hey Raul! Yeah you could roll out the red carpet at the airport if you want, but we will be driving in so we might miss it ;) You could roll it out for me at the Dolphin if you like! :D

I was going to say that we should take a spin on the Kali River Rapids ;) but I'm afraid that even in Florida at that time of the year I might turn into an icicle when totally soaked. How about a spin on the Rockin' Rollercoaster instead?

Cynthia and Dom.. Adventurers Club sounds awesome! We will be driving a good part of the 29th and coming in the last leg on the 30th so it won't be too much traveling that day. Kungaloosh! I tried to get the Boy Toy to come but he's being a stick in the mud ;). For some reason he would rather spend his vacation going to some little sports thing called the Olympics. I heard they have pins there too but I doubt they are as cool ;).

Okay you guys.. give me some tips on NYE in Disney. I know it will be crowded. Will all the parks be open until midnight? (well.. I guess AK won't.. don't think those are party animals they have there) What park is the best one to be in? HELP! :D :D

I can only be there with you in spirit so trade lots of great pins and tell me about it so I can live vicariously. It really is the next best thing. Also could you eat something in france for me and ride splash mt and oops getting carried away. Have a great trip!!!

Adventurer's Club? Shades of August Pin Event! Gary says he'll renew his annual pass for this.

MATT & LAURI--------Spending the Holidays at WDW.
We were very fortunate to celebrate the Millenium, down at DIZ.

Our stay was 12/26/99 thru 1/2/00. The first 2 days were a bit cold (darn). But our luck started to turn. Everyday the temp went up 10 degrees. I guess around the 29th it cracked 80 and kept rising.

The great time we had was non-stop-----Who cared about a clock----There were times we watched the sun go down, then watched it come up. We were fortunate to stay at the Boardwalk. There was something going on all the time. We just looked for a group of people and joined in.

Some time you get a kick out of something simple. On January 1st 2000, we were heading back to our room around 8PM to go to Jelly Rolls and the dueling pianos. I said to Shirley, ' I need a few minutes to do something'.
For my friends, the couch potatoes up north, watching the Bowl Games (probably freezing outside)----I put on my bathing suit, went down to the pool and went swimming (actually both of us did). When we got home it was great to ask our friends what were you doing at 8 PM on the 1st ????
We told them, we went swimming for about an hour outdoors, took a shower then off to JELLY ROLLS to shut the place down. SWIMMING then JELLY ROLLS ; the ultimate.

Being a bit of a needler, there was no way I could pass on this opportunity.

Keeping my fingers crossed, for two class people, that you have the same experience.

ADVICE---First thing you do ; throw the clock out of your window and get it all done.

John

Lauri,
The parks usually close at either 1:00 a.m. or 2:00 a.m. depending! I have been there for NYE several times, and was there at the same time as John & Shirley for the Millennium.
Animal Kingdom closed earlier than the rest of the parks (REALLY????) but they still had a celebration in the parking lot after the park closed.
There is so much going on, and the parks are BEAUTIFUL!!! Have a wonderful time!
