We are going to WDW summer 2005 ???

We went last year for our first family WDW trip. We stayed off site at a cheap but nice hotel. We are planning on going next summer july 2005 & are wanting to do it a little better this time.
I had gone as a child several times. But my husband had never gone before nor had my daughter. So he had no clue as to what it was. I think he thought it was sorta like another park like six flags or something. Anyway when he got there and realized what it was he stated the first day there that we was coming back in at least 2 years.
We are wanting to stay at the Contemporary or the Floridian the resorts that the monorail goes by or through. We also will be there for at least 7 days. We as of now do not want any water parks our daughter is to young still. We as well would like to fly.

Now i have been to the disney site to check on prices but the prices was like $3,000+ for this. 7 days, 2 adults 1 child 4 yrs.
I am wanting to be able to pay for this over the next year or so as well. What are my options on getting this much cheaper.

I think you should read through some of the information at Mousesavers.com to figure out what would be the best deal for you. The resorts you are talking about are in the Disney Deluxe category and aren't going to come "cheaply" even with discounts. However, the price can certainly be brought down from the "rack" rates that you will be quoted on the Disney site. There are usually discount "codes" released that will give you a percentage off your room rate. Mousesavers will also give you the best tips on where to get the lowest prices on your tickets.

You'll need to know how many days you plan to go into the parks to figure out what the best deal on tickets would be. Will you go to a park(s) every day? Including the days you arrive and depart? Or do you want to take a day off somewhere to relax and do non-park activities? If so, you definitely do NOT want to get the Ultimate Park Hopper (length of stay) tickets that Disney always tries to sell you. If you do want to go to parks every day then the UPH might be the right deal for you.

Okay, I just checked the Contemporary Resort (for this July, as next year's rates aren't available yet) for 8 days/7 nights in a Standard Wing Room and got $1865.50 -- that's without any discounts at all. One thing to be careful of when getting quotes from Disney's site is what TYPE of room they are quoting rates for! The first quote it gave me was over $6000! It was for a deluxe suite. There is a box to check that says something like "edit details" you will need to click on that, then there is a drop-down box next to "room type" where you can select the type of room you want, standard will pretty much be the least expensive choice. This is a quote for the room only as you will probably be better off buying your tickets separately, depending upon what you want.

AAA offers a discount as well, if you are a member.

If one person in the family buys an annual pass you can get the discounted AP rates (sometimes as much as 40% off rack rate). If you stay 8 days the pass pays for itself. With the discounts it might be worth it even if you only stay the 7 nights. It doesn't include the waterparks, but since you don't need to use them it all works out.
