Once we are allowed to try it out ill give a detailed review with a thumbs up and thumbs down. I have had achance to hear the song it works really well in my opionion. stay tuned for more. O ya i guess ill do a review of rockin california screaming but who really cares about that lol :)

Keep us posted , I can't wait till next month to try it!

Its only up for 4 months??!!!??? :confused3 I was really excited when I heard about it, but thought it was for longer. Don't think I can talk DH into going just for that, although he was really excited for it also. Looking forward to a review...popcorn::

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love SM but Love it even better now. The lights are different and sometimes at the beginning before take off I get a bit yucky feeling with the lights and music..

Now not a problem at all. Everyone that I talked to liked it so much better than the old way...

alright so here is my review of rockin space mountain! First off when you go on the lifts its starting off with the intro of the DJ and the red hot chili peppers. As soon as you get onto the big lift (the one on classic space where it will make you feel weightless) its got a very cool background with a great beat going up. The song "higher ground doesnt actually start tell you get off this lift. As soon as your in the mountain youll be surprized at how before all you saw was stars now theres lights all over the place silouetts of people dancing all over the walls disco balls the works. The music as I thought works really well with every twist and turn. And at the end theres this really cool guitar rift on the last couple turns that just made me wanna head bang. Also the picture at the end has a rockin new background. And a new space mountain sign in the front(Ill try to get a picture later). So my overall review of it is 4 out of 5. The only couple things that dont make me to happy are the fact that you can see the whole track. which may be great for guests who have never seen the track but as a SM cast mbr seeing the track just bugs me and I just think there can be more. Dont get me wrong there is so much more since grad night rockit mountain but maybe I just wanted to much. lol. SO i definantly recomend to all who want to get a new taste of space mountain and all who were wandering if the grad night reviews were really true. But so far its gotten a very good response and a 70 minute line all yesterday. please tell me what you think of it as you ride it and what you tink of my review :)

Not seeing the track makes the ride alot more funn , that sounds a bit dissapointing, but still i look forward to the new experience.

Thanks for the reviews! I agree that not seeing the track is part of the fun, but this does sound like a great new way to experience the ride!:)

Hey - I'll see the track if it means that it's not so dark in there! We rode it last night and loved it! We've got fast passes to go back later today. The music fits well (it's an old Stevie Wonder song - for us old folks!, but covered very well by the RHCP) It reminds me of Rock-n-Roller Coaster. I'm all for shakin' things up (Star Tours could use new dialogue). I'd like to see them use this version for a while.

It was fun seeing people clapping and whoopin' when the ride was over. Overall response seems very favorable. (Didn't hear anyone grousing as they were leaving!)

Def thumbs up!

I rode it today. Being a Disney purist (don't mess with my rides), I was skeptical. HOWEVER, I really liked it. I love how the soundtrack matches the twists and turns. The guitar riff at the end was fantastic! Seeing the track bothered me - I've always loved the darkness of the ride. I rode it twice (mid car and back row). For some reason, I could see the track more when we were in the back row. The dancing people images reminded me of a bad ipod commercial, but I think they worked better with the song than the space images. Then again, I've been riding SM since it opened and it's good to shake things up - as long as I get my old soundtrack back in a few months :rotfl: Have fun!

I loved it and felt that it was totally worth the wait! My daughter and I can't wait to go back on it.:thumbsup2

My DD's and I were on it Friday and loved it. We had no idea about the new additions so it came as quite a surprise. Lots of fun:banana:

I really enjoyed it and was surprised when I heard Uncle Joe Benson from KLOS.

CM, I found your review almost impossible to read, to be honest.
But I loved Rockin Space Mountain! The music was perfect, and it was a cool change to see the track, a la Rock N Roller Coaster at DMGM.

I agree with you DisQueen! Hubby and I rode it today - really didn't like seeing the track! Hubby absolutely hated it! :sad2: I thought it was ok, nice to have a change once in a while. I'm also looking forward to the return of the "darkness".

Is the sound track an original RHCP song or did they have RHCP re-record an older song? By the way, I love their new cd Stadium Arcadium.

Again, I'm in the minority on this...
I think changing the theme of Space Mountain into a rock concert, complete with "disco balls", is very sad to see. :sad2:

I'll have to wait til the spring to try this out. When does it end? I think it would be interesting to ride it seeing the track at least once. Having said that the fun of space mountain is not seeing where you are going.

Rockin' Space Mountain is cool, but I like the traditional version better. The rock theme is cool, but just made me wish I was riding rockin' roller coaster (which would be the perfect addition to DCA, by the way). I like RRC better though, because they selectively light up the track so you can't really see where you're going, whereas on Rockin' Space Mountain you can see what's up ahead. It's still an awesome ride, and its a nice way to shake things up, but I'm glad its only temporary....

I would love to visit DLR to try this - it sounds awesome! Of course, it helps that I'm a RHCP fan...:hippie:
