This October we will be staying onsite for the first time

We decided to go with the Grand Californian. I've got a couple questions. Is the turndown service only for concierge or is it all rooms? Also how are the pack and plays they provide? We've got a really flat one that would be very easy to bring but if theirs are good quality I probably won't bother. And what time would be best to check in for getting the room you want? Would it be better to come a little earlier than the official check in time?

turn down service is in all rooms. I have never used the pac and plays but they look like they are fairly new and the brand was graco they looked nice. As far as check in I think it depends more on how full the hotel is instead of what time. Last August I checked in around 11 am and was upgraded to a them park view!! Room wasn't ready yet but they gave me that room and stored my luggage for me!!

Interesting! I would have expected August to be a very busy time for the GCH. Did you ask for an upgrade or did they just do it?

That *is* interesting...the only time we've ever been upgraded like that was our one and only summer trip in July. Usually we avoid DL in the summer because of the heat and crowds.

Maybe they over-sell the standard view rooms during the high season so it's more likely that you'll get a surprise upgrade

We didn't use a pack n play, no need with the kids ages, but we did get turndown service nightly, along with chocolates.

Woot we're booked I'm pretty excited. Hopefully the AP rates will come out this summer but either way we can afford the rates now and we have our room.

Yes, turndown is for everyroom...with great chocolates that my kids love!

And, we've used the pack-n-play many times...it's a very nice Graco that worked very well for us.

You will love the GCH! Have a great trip!
