DW and I got home from a very snowy DLP at 11.30pm last night, and we had a fantastic trip. I'm glad we took lots of warm clothing because we needed it. It was very very cold there. We had lots of snow on Wednesday and the park looked breathtaking, it was so magical with the snow falling and all the Christmas decorations.
I'll be doing a very snowy photo heavy trip report later, but here are the highs and lows.
The Highs
The Christmas decorations through out the park
All the Christmas music being played every where
The Castle Lighting Ceremony
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Fantalusion
All the snow!
Salon Mickey
The Shareholders discounts in the stores and resturants
Cocktails in the evening
Enjoying a glass of wine during lunch
Pin Trading and the CM interaction
Playing in the snow with the CM's in WDS
Walking around the snow covered parks.
Catching the Eurostar and using the Disney Express Luggage Service - so much easier than flying.
Lows
The snow did cause a lot of disruption on Wednesday in both parks with rides closures, parades being canceled, and some resturants and shops closing early so the CM's could get home which was all fully understandable. There was a blizzard and over 4 inches of snow fell during the afternoon. We were told it was heaviest snowfall seen in Paris since 1987.
The Disney Express Luggage Service was canceled on Thursday morning because of all the snow so we took the 5 minute bus ride from the Sequoia Lodge to the station and left our bags at the Express counter in the station which was not a major problem.
The only real disapointment we had was of our own making. We decided early on during our trip planning to visit the resturants we have not been to before. Unfortunatley these all turned out to be buffet resturants and by Thursday we were fed up of buffet meals and canceld our lunch reservation at the Agrabah Cafe and headed over to Toad Hall for some Fish and Chips to find it was closed, so we walked through a snow covered Fantasyland via the castle and down a slushy Main Street to Walts which was also closed due to the snow and we ended up having hot dog at Casey's which was a very nice change.
