We are all Americans BUT

I have lived in California, Texas, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Missouri. The only states I have not visited are Alaska and North/South Dakota.

I think my biggest stereotype that turned out to be false was that everyone in Louisianna sits around on gorgeous little patios drinking mint juleps.

whaddya mean false? There that goes that daydream :sad2:

You are so going to hell.......and....I'm going with you!!!:lmao::lmao:

New Yorkers and New Jersey residents are rude.

Utah people are W-E-I-R-D, you can keep your little pass for alcohol and your polygamist.

Oregon is pretty much heaven on earth, but we will keep that a secret.;)

And I'm from Jersey:banana::banana::banana:

I worked with a girl from Alabama. She was smart attractive, articulate, and well educated. I guess that forms all my beliefs about Alabama since she is the only one I've ever met.

There are some beautiful women in Alabama. Especially Birmingham.

I thought summers in CA would be perfect and sunny. No way...between May gray and June gloom (which dragged on far into July this year) there was almost no beach weather!

I also thought people in CA would be friendlier. I've experienced far more rudeness and bad driving here than anywhere else in the country that I've lived.

Chances are, those rude people are in California, but not natives. We're nice, really. I can't drive, but I admit that 100%.

As I read some thoughts of others on my fair state, all I can say is, yup! There are blondes with plastic surgery. I even have a pink swimsuit and a convertible!

Yes, we are crazy and aloof and different and I wouldn't want to live any place else. For the record, I am a red-head and have yet to have plastic surgery, but a **** lift is probably in the future for me.

Hawaii - boring

Kansas - flat

Montana - cold

Washington - rainy

California - smog

West Virginia - coal miners

Texas - big ranches

Nevada - gambling

Alaska - isolated

Delaware - what's there?

Colorado - beautiful

Oregon - beautiful

Arizona - hot
------------------------

Is that enough? :rotfl:

We don't have smog any more. There was a law passed by a bunch of hippies and it was outlawed. And then taxed. :rotfl:

In all seriousness, we have cut down the smog by leaps and bounds. I remember what it was here as a child. You could cut the yellow gunk with a knife. We now have smog checks on our cars every two years (at $100 a pop) and if you don't pass, you can't renew your tags. Also, it is illegal to have a car that emits smoke. I recall seeing a lot of these before the law passed, now everyone has new cars! (Or well maintained ones.)

In a funny aside, we've had so many people move to Los Angeles there is another new-ish law that says you have to have CA plates on your car (and therefore Smogged) within X number of months of moving here.

Every one in California is going to die from cancer.

Southern "belles" have noses too high in the air.

Florida is "Little Cuba" or whichever island nation you want to put in. People DO NOT know how to drive.

Texas likes everything big and new... extremely wasteful.

Indiana is full of respectful people, that are some how all related to each other.

Midwest - Full of tornadoes, and someplace I never want to go to.

Being from Arkansas (and yes, I have all my teeth), I am used to everyone thinking the worst of the state. Some of the things that are said probably have a ring of truth to them. Why oh why when a tornado strikes, do they have to find the guy missing teeth whose mobile home just got blown away to interview?

My thoughts on other states:

New York- very fast, probably would have a panic attack if I lived in the city

Minnesota- isn't everything frozen there in the winter

North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming- Do people even live there? I never hear anything

South Carolina- I think it looks beautiful. I think I could live there

Florida-I think I could live there too

Texas- cowboys and country accents

Massachusetts- thick accents of another kind.

Mississippi-glad they are around because they are only state Arkansas generally rates higher than in polls

Really, I think every state has something good about it. Arkansas may have a bad rap, but it is a beautiful state and is a great place to raise a family.

Who in the world believes Hawaii is BORING??:eek: IMO, it's one of the most beautiful states in the country.

I think it's hilarious that most of the "stereotypes" listed about Texas are somewhat true!! except for the creepy part...I don't get that one, but OK everyone's entitled to their opinion.:)

I have visited Alabama...but I think my perceptions are skewed because I was attending the Talladega Nascar race! I don't think that was the "real" Alabama, but it was awesome.:woohoo:

This is general for the entire midwest/west coast region-- no one knows how to drive. Also, people move entirely too slowly.
Of course, what do I know? I'm a rude, pushy, impatient NYer ;)

Everyone down south says... Bless his/her heart!

There can't be anyone in NY and NJ cause they are all here in PA.

Hey, I was starting to think I didn't actually live in the U.S., either that or the entire state was invisible... And for what it's worth, it is perfectly legal for my parents to be third cousins and married. :rotfl:
Midwest - Full of tornadoes, and someplace I never want to go to.

I don't have any new stereotypes to add to the discussion, just had to  because my home finally showed up!

People from Illinois mistake slop for pizza. :upsidedow

Will someone from Wyoming PLEASE visit Epcot and attend a Voices of Liberty performance!

Slop?? You mean crust that's crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, mounds of fresh mozzarella, and real whole, ripe tomatoes to top it off? I call that heaven :cloud9: You must think that cardboard they serve in NY is actually edible, huh? It's called pizza PIE for a reason :lmao:

:lmao:.......:thumbsup2

still haven't seen my area pop up...any Maryland/ Virginia/ DC stereotypes out there??

NYers aren't rude, they're honest, impatient and sarcastic. I'd rather someone tell me Up Yours in my face than Bless yo Heart and lie and THINK Up Yours. Can't stand fake and I've had to deal with it for 20 years in "JoeJah".

Lots of NYers in Atlanta but MORE small towners who thought it was a hip town. It's a hick town to me but like my Mom said, when you leave NY you're going NOWHERE.

She was right...:sad2:

The movie "Sweet Home Alabama" with Reese Witherspoon, went overboard. I don't act anything like the people in that movie. (neither does anyone else I know)

"You have a baby.....in a bar!" :lmao::lmao:

Mine is everyone in Maine says, "Auyuh"
