Hi all,

We just found out that DVC waived ROFR and the BWV points we have wanted will be ours soon.

Before we put any offers on resale, a few months ago, we were speaking to a guide at DVC who, of course, was trying to sell us SSR. ANyway, he eventually did tell us we could be on a wait list for BWV. This is the same guide who was assigned to us 3 years ago when we first started to ask questions about DVC (you see how long it takes us to do things! )

My question is, will this same gentleman be our guide? What will our guide do for us, assuming we don't need to add on points?

Thanks!

Yes, your guide will remain, unless you ask for a change. I don't know what your assigned guide will do for you if you do not buy from Disney. We bought a resale and have never corresponded with our Disney guide. Other thoughts?

Let Your Conscience be your guide.....

I think several DVC'ers have Ms. Conscience for their guide. They always refer to her when adding on.....

If you are buying a resale you won't really have a guide. The "guide is really the sales person. The guide you were working may still stay in touch just incase you may want to buy an add on but other than that don't expect much.

Cruise is usually right on the money...but this is a whiff!

Your guide is your Disney sales person. Two people you definitely do NOT want in the picture when you consider adding on are Ms. Conscience and Mr. Logic.

When you consider an add-on (which you probably will do before closing on your first contract!) you should talk to your Guide and listen to Hanname!

Congratulations on passing ROFR...and WELCOME HOME!!!

Prior to our resale purchase we had toured the DVC models and our guide was Mark Webb.

Well...when we received our vacation planner from Disney, the card on the planner was from Mark Webb.

So, I believe your first guide, though you didn't purchase from Disney direct, is still your guide.

Yes, that's right. Your guide will remain the same even if you do not buy direct from Disney.

I believe this is correct.

We bought both ways and Joan Lanes name was sent on our info pack.

Yes this is correct. WE viewed VB through Linda Smit but really wanted OKW so we bought resale (instead of waitlist thru Disney). She is listed as our guide on the Members Updates thru the website and we get mailings from her.

Good luck and Welcome Home
