We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Good morning everyone! Before I continue with the TR, just wanted to give you a quick update about our next trip!

Remember how I was agonizing over AKL, and if I should switch resorts? Well, switching finally won. Although I'm sad to not stay at AKL, I know I definitely would like to try it someday, I'm really excited to now be staying at...THE BEACH CLUB!!!

I just couldn't resist! The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to be close to Epcot, to walk to the Food and Wine festival, and I really wanted a beachy, relaxed feel to this vacation. I wish the Beach Club had hammocks, but the swings they have on the beach will work just fine! I considered the Yacht Club and Boardwalk, but somehow, the Beach Club won!

Of course, this IS me we're talking about, and over the next 7.5 months, things can change! I've had this trip booked since January 3, and I've already changed the dates twice and the resort once, so...we'll see! I wonder if I can ever just book a trip and leave things the way they are!

Going Home Again!

Day 6, 11/17, part 3

So I had just gotten soaked yet again on Splash Mountain and had to go to Main Street to buy a new tee shirt, which of course, took forever, because I couldn't decide on one. I finally got a cute Christmas tee, which you won't see me in any pictures of until my MVMCP updates, since I wore it there!

Once I was changed and semi-dry, we went back to Fantasyland AGAIN, and used our Peter Pan FP's. LOVE that ride, it's so much fun, I love rides where you feel like you are in the movie!

We then walked over to Winnie the Pooh to see if it was finally open, and it was!

IMG_2086.jpg

Unfortunately, the walls were still up around the new queue area, so we didn't get to see it.

It was only about a 15 minute wait, so in no time we were traveling through the Hundred Acre Woods! I got my picture of Pooh's butt sticking out of the tree, which I guess is something I have to do every time I'm on this ride!

IMG_2093.jpg

Once we finished with Pooh, we weren't sure what to do...Brandon suggested Hall of Presidents again, so I agreed, since I said no our first MK morning! We went over to HoP to find that the show had just started, so we had a while until the next show. So where did we go to pass the time?

Adventureland, of course! To go to...

IMG_2095.jpg

for...

IMG_2094.jpg

Dole Whips! Well, these are the citrus swirl kind, not the official pineapple dole whips, but still...soooo good! I do like the pineapple, and I really want to try a float, but I can never seem to pass up the citrus swirl!

Finally it was time for HoP, so we made our way over to Liberty Square and watched the show. I love HoP, but it always makes me so tired! It's so cool in there, and quiet and dark...nice place for a nap! I don't think I fell asleep this time, but I know I have in the past...:rolleyes1

We were getting pretty hungry after HoP and were wondering what to do for lunch, when Brandon reminded me how much I wanted to visit the Wilderness Lodge on this trip sometime, so he suggested taking the boat over and eating at Roaring Forks. I thought that was a great idea, so we made our way out of MK to the boat area and waited for the boat to WL!

(For those of you who don't know, WL holds a special place in my heart...Brandon and I stayed there in November 09, after a particularly hard time in my life, I sometimes feel that that trip and that resort saved me in some ways, and we also got engaged there on that trip so it will ALWAYS be my favorite resort! :lovestruc )

We got on the boat and enjoyed the peaceful ride over, and I just took everything in...it reminded me so much of our 11/09 trip, and I loved just looking at the water, seeing the Contemporary up close...finally we were there!

IMG_2100.jpg

I walked slowly on the path to get from the boat to the lodge, just to appreciate the beauty of that area...I love these walkways in the woods

IMG_2103.jpg

They remind me SO much of where the Ewoks live in Return of the Jedi! (Yes, sorry, I am a Star Wars dork!)

We hung out by the pool for a little while, and I took some pictures, even though I have a lot from when we stayed there, you can never have too many of your favorite resort! Here are a few:

IMG_2104.jpg

IMG_2108.jpg

IMG_2109.jpg

We finally made our way inside, and instead of going to Roaring Forks like we planned, Brandon wanted to go to Whispering Canyon instead...I was kind of looking forward to a quiet lunch, but ok, WCC can be fun, so why not!

Of course, he had to stop at the fireplace for a few minutes first, he loved that fireplace when we stayed there!

IMG_2111.jpg

Finally, we made it to WCC, where luckily there was no wait, because I was starving by that time! :rotfl:

Our server was very nice, she played her role of...I don't know, what exactly are they going for at WCC, rude and annoying? Well, she did that, but in a nice, non-annoying way!

We both got burgers, the lunch menu there is very limited! :confused3 The burgers were pretty good, and I when our server noticed I finished my Coke, she asked me if I wanted "a little more Coke" and brought this out for me

IMG_2112.jpg

I think I was supposed to be bothered by such a small cup, but since I love small cute things, I was thrilled and kept saying how cute it was, and how I wanted to bring it home! It seemed like she was a little confused by my reaction!

Once we were finished with lunch, it was time to leave our lodge. I called this chapter "Going Home Again" because I really felt so at home here when we stayed here, and when we visited again on this trip, it felt like we never left. Someday I'm going to stay here again, I considered it for our October trip, but I'd rather stay for Christmas, when the tree is up and it's a little cooler outside!

We took the boat back to MK and immediately walked over to the monorail

IMG_2113.jpg

and went back to POR. It was a fun, but exhausting day, and we still had another park to go to, and dinner at DTD!

Up next...change of plans! :rolleyes1

Change of plans what??!!!

You don't plan for months and then just change them like that lol.

Glad to see you had fun at WL. It's of course my fav resort besides YC :)

Yay for BC! We always loved YC (the 2 times we stayed there lol). I'm not sure I'd stay at BC though. I guess if we couldn't get into YC we would. I bothers me that for $400+ a night I might not have a balcony to sit on, geez! I'm sure you will enjoy it and the pool is to die for of course! I'm glad we didn't decide to stay there in Dec because it was soooo cold, it would have been a waste of money + we had the lodge lobby since it was freezing! YCBC is def. a late spring/summer/early fall resort IMO!

WL looks so beautiful. :cloud9: I think it's really special when resorts really touch us (or I guess it's the time we spent there, but you get my point). That's how I am with POFQ. It's definitely my Disney home. :goodvibes

Yay for switching to the BC! I think that's the best option since you'll be spending so much time in Epcot. :thumbsup2

LOL, I know, it's crazy, but I had this feeling all day of where I wanted to be all night, and it wasn't the place we were supposed to go! :rotfl:

I love WL! And I love BC too, we stayed there on our Disneymoon last May and it was amazing! And we only got to use the pool once! This time I'm making sure we have adequate pool time! It is a little annoying that only half of the rooms have full balconies, but that was my only request, so hopefully I will get one, and if the room they assign me when I get there doesn't have one, I'll ask for one! I considered the Yacht Club, but I know there is going to be a lot of late night stumbling back to BC from the Food and Wine festival, and it seems like YC is so much farther! And the colors in there are so dark! :confused3 I would like to stay there someday, though, but for now, I'm happy with the Beach Club! (Although, who knows, next week I might change it again, I seem to be a chronic resort changer!)

I really do love WL, I always think I will feel the way I feel about WL with every other resort I stay in, and I don't, and I just realized on this trip that there is just something special about WL! I can't wait to actually stay there again, but it's definitely a winter resort! :yay:

I'm SO excited to be back at BC! :woohoo: It's a bit more expensive than AKL, but the location is worth it! I am feeling a little guilty, though, about spending so much on a resort, so who knows, months from now, if they extend free dining, I might end up switching to a mod again! I have a problem with changing resorts, I think I need help! :rotfl:

This isn't an official update or anything,it's about our upcoming trip, but I'm so excited because...

September WDW hours are out!!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Of course, I'll only be there one day in September, our arrival day, 9/30, but still, it's nice to see the hours for that one day! Makes me want to start my PTR right now, but I really want to finish my TR first (even though it seems like I'm losing readers left and right! :rolleyes1)!

Can't wait for October hours to come out, and then my ADR day will be just around the corner!

I didn't know you went to WCC this trip. I remember while you were on your trip Caitlin and I went to dinner with Steve and Linda. They were talking about how you asked for a little more coke and got a tiny bit. (Maybe they saw it on facebook?) They didn't think it was very funny:confused3 I totally forgot about that until your update.

Is there usually little wait for WCC at lunch? I don't really want to make an ADR since there are other places I would rather eat at but it would be nice if we head back to the hotel for lunch to try it.

How did I know you would move to Beach Club again? I'm afraid once we stay there I won't want to stay anywhere else either. The location and the pool make it hard to beat. Especially during Food and Wine and the fact that you visit EPCOT daily.

Your Crystal Palace experience bums me out a bit. I was going to skip it this trip but I ended up booking it. I loved being in MK early and I figure this will be the last trip that Caitlin will want to see the characters. :sad2:

Catching up once again!

Aww, I feel so bad that Brandon was feeling sick at DHS! It's just so wrong to feel sick there. That's one of my fears. I don't want to be sick anywhere, but being sick on vacation is just the worst!

How ADORABLE is that pumpkin in the back of your car! Haha. You should've buckled it in.

Ooo, I'm looking forward to picking up some snacks (like those Minnie's Bake Shop stuff) for the Amtrak ride home! It'll be depressing having to leave and sitting for that long. It's going to be a treat to buy some treats that we can ONLY have on the train.

Haha, what a good wife having patience with minigolf. I don't think I could do that. I'd get so frustrated with myself because I know I'd be TERRIBLE at it! I guess I'd have fun taking pics!

What exactly happens on the green side of MS? I know I'll never try the orange, but I'm curious to just get a taste of it by doing the green. There's still a way to get sick on the green side? Is it just a simulator?

HAHA, love the LOTR reference.

I don't remember the last time I watched IllumiNations. It must've been when I was 5 or 6 because I was sharing one of the old Disney strollers with someone. I'm looking forward to enjoying it next Monday! Hopefully! Haha, I don't have a clue as to where to go though. I might just try to stake out spots early that have seats because I have to sit. Standing will just be asking for a fainting spell.

Boo to the bad experience at Crystal Palace! I wish they remembered that everyone has to pay to eat there and give everyone as equal of an experience as possible. I have to say though that I'm now craving breakfast food at 10:45pm.

Ooo, going to buy a new shirt after a soaking experience on Splash is much better than going back to change! Haha, save time AND get a cute shirt too!

Beach Club sounds great!! That's so exciting! I think an Epcot resort would be perfect for the F & W Festival. I know what it's like to have a hard time making up your mind about trip details. I keep going back and forth on which week I want and which resort.

Wilderness Lodge looks beautiful. I've never been there, but I'd definitely like to visit it sometime. WCC sounds like fun, too.

Yeah, I guess they wouldn't have gotten the coke thing unless they know how WCC is! I wish I asked if I could keep the cup, it was so cute!

Both times we have eaten at WCC (once for lunch and once for dinner) we haven't had ADR's, walked up, and gotten right in. I'm not sure how it will be in May, though. :confused3 You can always just make an ADR there just in case and then cancel it!

Don't worry about Crystal Palace, I think I was just there at a weird time, and anyway, you're with a kid, the characters will definitely all stop for you!

I don't think we're staying at BC anymore. It hasn't even been a week and I already have to change it back to AKL! :sad1:

Catching up once again!

Hey, welcome back! :yay:

Definitely get some of the Minnie's bake shop cookies, I'm addicted to them when I'm in WDW!

The green side of Mission Space is fun, I don't see how you could possibly get sick on it, though, unless you're already not feeling good, there's no spinning on the green side. :confused3 It's fun, but if you have been on the orange side, it just doesn't compare!

Illuminations is so much fun! If you want to sit, you know where the Yorkshire fish and chip shop is? If you go there, there is a seating section with tables, but if you go closer to the water, there are some benches, you can try to snag one of those! :thumbsup2 You'd probably have to get there pretty early, though!

Ugh, CP was annoying, but I'll probably try it again, I do love it! :thumbsup2 Next time, I'll just be annoying and ask to see the characters! :rotfl:

Haha, I was kind of happy I got a new shirt after getting soaked, because I really wanted it when I saw it a few days earlier, but I didn't feel like spending the money on it! It was nice to have an actual reason to buy it! :cool1:

Can't believe your trip is so close, yay!!! :woohoo:

Beach Club sounds great!! That's so exciting! I think an Epcot resort would be perfect for the F & W Festival. I know what it's like to have a hard time making up your mind about trip details. I keep going back and forth on which week I want and which resort.

Wah, I don't think we're staying at BC anymore. :sad1: I'll update you guys as to why in my next TR update, but I think we're going back to AKL! :confused3

WL is amazing, I would love to stay there again for a Christmas trip! :cool1: It's fun to visit too, and just hang out or have lunch! :thumbsup2

Aww, you switched from AKL? No, just kidding, the Beach Club is really nice too. I can understand wanting to switch...that whole area is so much fun. It has to be one of my favorite places on property.

OK, I seriously have to try a dole whip one of these days. It looks so good!

haha, love your "little more coke." :rotfl: And all the pictures from WL. :goodvibes

Now I have to figure out what snacks to bring going TO Disney since I'm so excited to have the Minnie's bake shop cookies on the way home!!!

Thanks for the info about Mission Space and Illuminations!!!

I am looking forward to our 4 nights at WL coming up in just 40 days. This will be our first stay there. I'm glad you love it there, and am hoping that it will make our 10 yr. anniversary trip even that much better.

Hmmm... so you are back to AKL. We should start counting how many times you change. It really is hard to pick. Just days ago I was debating switching to POFQ to try out the refurbed rooms, they look sooo nice (and it would save us some money). Chris told me we were sticking with WL, so now I am just following his orders.:lmao:

LOL...don't worry, not even a week later, and I'm already switching back to AKL! :confused3 BC is just too expensive, and I like having lots of spending money on my trip, especially since I want to do 2 MNSSHP's, LOTS of Food and Wine, Universal, and the Haunted Carriage ride...I'm even considering dropping down to a mod, but we'll a little while for that! :rotfl:

I personally like the citrus swirls better than the pineapple dole whip...the pineapple ones are good, but the citrus swirl is amazing! :woohoo:

Wasn't that Coke so cute! :cutie:

Now I have to figure out what snacks to bring going TO Disney since I'm so excited to have the Minnie's bake shop cookies on the way home!!!

Thanks for the info about Mission Space and Illuminations!!!

Be careful with those cookies, you are going to crave them at the worst times! They're so good!!!

And you're welcome, hope you find a good spot for Illuminations! :yay:

You're going to love WL, it's so beautiful and peaceful, and being that close to MK is amazing! :cool1:

It is SO hard to pick a resort! I was so set on AKL for this trip, but then I started thinking about BC and I wanted to stay there, but now I hate the thought of spending so much $$$, so I have no problem changing back to AKL! But now, I'm starting to think, why not just switch to a mod???? Ughhh...I can't decide! I really want to stay in CBR for some reason, and saving even more money would be awesome! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Another quick October trip update-I switched back to Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!

I know, I was so excited for the Beach Club, so why did I do that? Well, as soon as I switched, I started to regret it. I love BC, but I have already stayed there, and I don't want to start repeating resorts yet! Staying somewhere new is part of the fun of a Disney vacation! And Brandon and I watched the Travel Channel Disney show that was on over the weekend, and he told me how he was so excited to stay there, so I felt bad. So I told him I would switch back! And AKL is much cheaper than BC, and I like having a ridiculous amount of spending money in Disney World! :confused3 So much that I'm even thinking of changing to a mod...but I'll wait a few months for that!

I'm hoping to finish up this TR in the next couple of weeks, so I can start my PTR!

Test Track, Baby!

Day 6, 11/17, Part 4

So, after resting at POR for a little while, we were ready to venture back out into the World for a little while, before our dinner reservation at Fulton's. Originally, we were going to go to Animal Kingdom evening magic hours, it seemed like it would be fun to ride EE in the dark!

But all day, I kept feeling like I needed to go to Epcot! I don't know why, I just wanted to be there. So I asked Brandon if he minded going there instead, and of course he didn't, since he loves Epcot! So that's where we were off too instead of AK!

We didn't have any plans for Epcot, we only had a couple of hours before we had to go to DTD, so we just wandered around.

I took more pictures of the blue palm trees

IMG_2117.jpg

and we browsed around the Art of Disney (which is SUCH a cool store!!)

IMG_2118.jpg

and then of course, I suggested checking Soarin for FP's, and amazingly, they had some left! So we got FP's and then checked the times board right outside of Soarin, and saw that Test Track only had a 10 minute wait. We were never big Test Track fans, in fact, I'm pretty sure we skipped it on our Disneymoon all together, but since there was practically no wait, we wanted to give it another try!

We went over to Test Track

IMG_2121.jpg

and got in line, and we were quickly in our car.

It was SO much fun! It was totally different than I remembered it, I loved it! And so did Brandon, when we went on previously, he didn't like it at all! And now we both loved it! :woohoo: Strange, I wonder what was different about it!

We scanned our PP for our picture on the way out

Photo0048FourBySix.jpg

(I don't know why we're not sitting next to each other, weird!)

and since the wait time was still 10 minutes, we went on again! And again, it was SO much fun! So glad we rediscovered Test Track, now we have another Epcot must do!

After TT, we raced back over to Soarin and went on it again! Nothing new to say about Soarin! I love it, one of the best rides ever!!! :yay:

By this time, we were ready to go to Downtown Disney for dinner at Fulton's.

I took a few more pictures of blue palm trees on the way out

IMG_2126.jpg

and we left Epcot for DTD!

We arrived at Fulton's and checked in and had maybe a 10 minute wait before we were seated.

IMG_2131.jpg

The menu was a little intimidating, I had no idea what to get! I'm not a huge seafood person, but Brandon is, which is why we went there, he has wanted to ever since we went on our first Disney trip together.

I didn't take any pictures when we were there, or even take any notes on my phone, so I'm relying on the allears.net menu to remember what we had!

I know Brandon had this

"Filet of Beef Oscar - 12 oz with blue lump crab meat, Bernaise sauce, and fresh asparagus"

which he loved more than pretty much anything ever in life! :rotfl: And I had...well, I can't find it on the menu! I know it was a combination of steak and scallops, and it was very good, but I'm not exactly sure what I had!

All in all, I liked Fulton's, but it was really expensive! I thought it was going to be just a one time thing, but I guess not! Brandon wants to go again on this trip!

After we finished dinner, we walked around DTD for a little while, and I tried to get ideas of what I wanted to buy. Our trip was coming to an end soon, and it was time to get serious about shopping!

IMG_2132.jpg

(No I didn't buy that, but it's awesome!)

We didn't stay very long, because I convinced Brandon that we should go back the next morning so I could shop. We were both really tired, and we had nothing planned for the next morning, so why not!

IMG_2135.jpg

We went back to POR and went to bed, I couldn't wait for the next day! As sad as I was that it would be Thursday and we were leaving Saturday :sad1: I couldn't wait for the Christmas party!!!

(I'm going to stop here and continue this update in the next post, just to finish up the DTD part!)

Downtown Disney

(I apologize in advance if this update is boring, I'm going to try to keep it short and sweet, I just want to get through so I can get to the fun part of the day!)

Day 7, 11/18

I'm not sure how late we slept, but we didn't really have anywhere to be this morning, except DTD. We took our time and finally got out the door to DTD to get some breakfast. We decided to go to Earl of Sandwich again for breakfast, it was great, as usual! I really love EoS for breakfast. I wish Disney would use a different brand of tea though, I'm not a big coffee person, I drink tea every day, and that Twinings tea is terrible! :confused3

After we ate, we went into the shops, my favorite shop of all time was first!

IMG_2136.jpg

I don't know how I never noticed this guy!

IMG_2137.jpg

This tree is so adorable, with all the toys as decorations!

IMG_2139.jpg

We made our way over to TrenD

IMG_2142.jpg

IMG_2143.jpg

which is another one of my favorite stores, but I've never bought anything in there! There is just so much to look at and choose from that I can't just pick something!

Finally we ended up at World of Disney

IMG_2144.jpg

where I did most of my shopping! I'm not going to tell you what I got there, I'll save that for the end of this TR, but I think I got some pretty cute stuff, if I do say so myself! I know I drove Brandon crazy, agonizing over what to get!

One last stop before we were ready to go was Basin

IMG_2148.jpg

I didn't buy anything, because I don't really take baths, so it's kind of pointless, but I do like to browse in there! It smells so good in there! I know Brandon didn't want to be there, he was done with shopping at this point, so I didn't get a chance to really see everything, but I was happy we at least walked through for a few minutes!

We walked back to the car and drove back to POR. We had some lunch and then rested for a little while before it was time to get ready for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! We were having dinner at the Poly before the party, so I could not WAIT for that! I was looking forward to this night during our whole trip, and now it was finally here!

Up next...I discover my new dream resort! :lovestruc

OK - Is it going to be really annoying that I am posting in between your two posts. Sorry! :rolleyes1

For some reason I got this feeling to check your TR tonight! And look what I found.

I'll tell you why you loved TT - cause you rode it in the dark! It was dark out, right? Its such a great ride in the dark. In fact, I try to only ride it in the dark. Soooooo much better!

Love the blue palm trees.

Yummy dinner.

How did I miss the BC and back switch?????

I hope you love AKL. It really is special!

great updates!!!!!!

I have not seen the turkey leg shirt but it's darn cute but your right, I wouldn't buy it!!!

I have never been to Fultons either! It's one of the few places I haven't been. I love seafood but I know it's expensive so I dunno. I guess I should have tried it when I got food discounts!

What resort do you love?! I'm guessin it's YC/BC!

I LOVE that turkey leg shirt! :lmao: How awesome is that?!

I love sleeping in and going shopping at DTD. It's a fun way to spend a day.

You're too funny with your resort bouncing! I know what you mean about wanting more money to spend at Disney though. Very important.
