We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Great update. Don't worry about the resort situation, you'll get it figured out soon. Free dining is always a nice perk if they offer it again.

I love MS and agree wholeheartedly that orange is the way to go! And I totally do the same thing when I see the pre-show! "It's Lieutenant Dan!" :lmao:

Thanks! I'm not really worried about the resort, I'm sure I will be happy wherever I stay! If I have to take a little longer to travel from AKL it will be worth it, it's a great resort! :thumbsup2

Yay someone else who loves the orange side! :thumbsup2 Every time we watch the pre show, my DH makes a comment about Lieutenant Dan's hair piece...it looks real to me, but I can never tell when someone has fake hair! My DH insists it's fake, though!

I'm all caught up! Great updates! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad Brandon got to feeling better! I hate when you feel sick on vacation. You want to do so much, but you just can't!

I think sticking with AKL is a good choice. We ate dinner there on our trip and it was so amazing. I wold definitely love to stay there someday!

I love that mini golf place! We have played at that one and the Fantasia one, but I like this one better. Unfortunately, I am very bad at mini golf and I'm also a very sore loser, so I usually end up cranky by the time we finish! :rotfl:

Yay! Back to Epcot! I am living vicariously through your Epcot updates, because unfortunately our Epcot day was not very good on our trip!

I think you are making a good decision for now with sticking with AKL. Wait for a great pin to change your mind!:goodvibes

So Brandon has thrown in the towel on MS. I think there are a lot of people that feel the same way. I am going to be daring and try the orange side, might regret that decision.:confused3

Great pics! I really like the one of you both in front of the mice!:goodvibes

Ugh, yeah, poor Brandon was just not feeling good that night, but luckily he was ok the next day! I think we just eat too much and do too much...our next trip I'm not going to make us go crazy the first few days like I did with this trip, I definitely over planned. :confused3

I'm so excited about AKL...but now I'm thinking about switching to a mod! :rotfl: So who knows where I will end up in 8 months? I'll probably have switched 10 times by the time our trip is actually here! :yay:

I'm horrible at mini golf too...and I can never beat Brandon at anything! And if I am beating him, he gets really mad, he's such a sore loser too! I always ask him to just let me win once in a while, but he just can't do it! I'm glad he only beat me by 3 in mini golf!

I can't believe how many times we went to Epcot on this trip! I knew it was our favorite park, but I had no idea we would practically live there!

Thanks, I'm happy with AKL for now, but I'm guessing it will change sooner or later! If they offer free dining for October, it will be hard to pass up, but a lot of people seem to think free dining is done for now. We'll see! :)

The orange side of MS is SO much fun! If you try it, just make sure you keep your eyes focused straight ahead, when you look around you get disoriented and that's what causes people to feel sick. It's awesome though, you really feel like you are floating in space!

I will probably do another update sometime today, once I finish digging out from yet another snow storm, we got another 15 inches last night! I don't have anywhere left in the driveway to put the snow, I'm ready to have a nervous breakdown over shoveling! :scared1:

Great update Jen! I love your PP pic in front of the topiaries!

That stinks that Brandon doesn't like Mission: Space! Although I laughed when you said the longest wait was for the videos with Lt. Dan! That's what I always call Gary Sinise too and I thought I was strange for identifying him that way!

And yay for staying at AKL! And heck, even if you switch to the BC or YC, I'll still be jealous!

Did you have to go to work today? My job had a delayed opening, saying we were opening at noon but everyone is just calling out. It's ridiculous out there!

LOL, I don't know Lt. Dan from anything else, I sometimes even forget his real name! It's strange to me that they use well known actors for these things in Disney! :rotfl:

I don't know if it's all the snow and cold, but I'm wanting to stay somewhere tropical on this next trip...the Poly or CBR or even BC, since it's on a beach! I want to lay out in a hammock and drink pina colavas all week, and I'm not sure if I'll get that at AKL! :confused3 I know the Poly is out of the question, but CBR or BC are sounding pretty good to me right now...and CBR would be great to save some $$! Although next week, I'm sure I'll feel different, which is why I'm not changing anything right now!

No, work was closed, thank god, because I took one look outside and was like "yeah, there's no way I'm driving in that!" :rotfl: I've been up since 5:15, I was watching the news, and seeing all the trucks on 95 just stopped (did you see that whole truck ban thing? :scared1: Crazy!) and 15 inches of snow outside my door, not even plowed (my street is always last, it seems, because we live on a dead end, and we apparently just don't exist! :rotfl2:) and I was wondering why I didn't see my school on the list of closings...around 5:30 I was getting ready to call my boss and tell her sorry, I can't come in, but right as I was about to call her, she called me and said we were closed! Phew! :woohoo: I had to do SO much shoveling to help Brandon get out and get to work, my left shoulder is killing me right now! It even hurts to type! :sad2: I'm SO sick of the snow, seriously, this is ridiculous! I'm ready for the spring! Then I'll gladly skip the summer and go right to the fall!

Great update, Jen. I love the photos of Epcot and the Pluto and his house...too cute. And your Mickey ears are simply adorable.

Doesn't this weather stink! If I hadn't rented points I would have changed my ressie to the Poly weeks ago. Everytime I look outside all I think about it being at BC. The WL is not sounding good right now.

I am so tired of shoveling. Usually John goes to work and since I am home I end up doing most of it. Today he actually had to go to work late b/c he couldn't get out of the driveway. I guess the one plus side of having a small yard is that we don't have too much sidewalk to shovel.

Thanks! :)

I tried really hard this afternoon to convince Lumar to stay at The Poly on our next trip. If we got the 40% discount it would be like $3500 which is a fantastic deal for 11 nights...but he wasn't going for it! Maybe some day!

Can you believe I actuall fell today? And not even OUTSIDE!! :rotfl2: I wasn't paying attention and walked right into one of the baby gates we have set up so the dog can't get down the hallway....I just walked straight into it at full momentum, it collapsed under me and I went down. My wrist and my knee are killing me! Oh, and the gate put a hole in the wall!

Gary Sinise (Lt Dan ;) ) was also Stu Redman in The Stand, which is one of my favorite book-to-movie adaptations ever, and from my favorite book ever :)

Great update, Jen. I love the photos of Epcot and the Pluto and his house...too cute. And your Mickey ears are simply adorable.

Thanks! I love those Minnie ears, they don't seem to have those anymore, I got them in 09 and didn't see them this year. Gonna have to take good care of them so I can keep wearing them whenever I go to WDW around Christmas!

Yeah, the WL is more of a fall/winter-y place to me. I mean, it does have a beach, and the pool is really nice, but the inside feels like Christmas. You can't change resorts now? Why don't you see if the Beach Club is available for your whole trip? Or what about Old Key West, that's pretty tropical.

Brandon couldn't get out of the driveway yesterday to get to work until the plow finally came by, and his stupid boss was such a jerk about it, I hate his job, I wish he could find something else, something in Milford would be good. At least my job is understanding if you can't get there, his just expects you to be there, no matter what. His car got stuck when he tried to back out of the driveway before they plowed. And we're getting another storm next week! I can't take much more of this!:rotfl: I'm really gonna have to reconsider my resort options here, because I want to feel like I'm on a tropical island when I'm there, and I really want a hammock! There are no hammocks or beaches at AKL so that leaves me CBR, CSR, YC, BC...or the Poly, which will never happen. :confused3

LOL I tried convincing Brandon to let us stay at the Poly too, but he said no way. :rotfl: I don't know how much longer they are going to keep handing out these 40% off pins, so I think we should take advantage of it! :thumbsup2

You sound like me, I'm constantly walking into things, tripping over things...I opened the fridge the other day and an can of soda fell out, and landed right on my foot, it hurt SO bad! Now I have a huge bruise on the top of my foot, only me!

Gary Sinise (Lt Dan ;) ) was also Stu Redman in The Stand, which is one of my favorite book-to-movie adaptations ever, and from my favorite book ever :)

See? I'd never know that...I'm so bad with movies, and actors in movies. Brandon knows the most random actors in the world, and the most random movies that they have been in, but I know nothing, I'm not a big movie person! I have to be really interested in a movie to see it, or I'd rather just read books, I'm kind of a dork like that. :rotfl: I honestly can't remember the last movie I saw in the theater...:confused3

And he was in Apollo 13 :)

I did see that! I don't remember him, though! :rolleyes1

"Our Life" (part 1)

Day 5, 11/16, Part 4

Brandon and I were walking towards World Showcase, to kill some time before our Teppan Edo dinner reservation. We had a couple of hours, so of course, I suggested stopping in Mexico for some margaritas in the cave! There was such a difference from the night we were there during the Food and Wine festival, we just walked right in and ordered our margaritas!

IMG_1957.jpg

I love blue drinks, so I got the Magic Blue margarita and Brandon got his Hibiscus margarita that he's obsessed with!

We then made our way to Norway, like we always seem to do when we get margaritas

IMG_1958.jpg

IMG_1963.jpg

and just chilled out for a little while, and enjoyed our drinks.

I finished mine kind of quickly and wanted to start walking again...and then it kind of hit me all at once. I don't want to say I was drunk from one little margarita...but I was definitely feeling it! :drinking1

Brandon wanted to get a beer in Germany and I thought maybe I should eat something, to soak up some of the alcohol that i just drank...I didn't want to act like an idiot in Teppan Edo! :rotfl: So Brandon got his beer and he got me at pretzel, and I seriously devoured it in what seemed like seconds! It was so good! I love pretzels at Disney almost as much as I love the popcorn!

I kept trying to get a good picture of Germany at night, but everything kept coming out blurry

IMG_1970.jpg

We started walking towards Japan so we were close when it was time for our dinner reservation, and again, I tried taking more pictures, but it just wasn't working out!

IMG_1973.jpg

I do like this one, even though it's a little out of focus, it looks kind of cool

IMG_1978.jpg

The American Adventure is so pretty at night!

IMG_1980.jpg

It was finally time to check in to Teppan Edo

IMG_1986.jpg

which is also in the same building as Tokyo Dining, which I didn't know until that night. Brandon of course, read the menu to Tokyo Dining and decided he would rather go there because they had sushi and I got really upset! :sad1: The only reason we were going to Teppan Edo to begin with was because HE requested it! I had no interest in it, but I agreed, because HE wanted to! And now he wants to go to the other place!!! Ughhhhh!!!! This is why I ask him where he wants to eat when I'm making ADR's 6 months in advance, and ask him to look at menus, but he refuses...then we get to Disney and he asks why we're not eating at certain places!!! :scared1:

Once I explained all of this to him, once again, for the 100th time, he seemed ok with accepting Teppan Edo for dinner that night. :sad2: We had maybe a 10 minute wait before we were brought to our table. We were seated with a family of 4 and another couple. It was kind of awkward, at first, but eventually everyone started talking.

Teppan Edo is a fun experience, but I really have no interest in going again. The food was good, I got the steak and chicken combo, and Brandon got the scallops. The service was great, and the chef was very entertaining, but, I don't know, it's not something I'd want to eat all the time. I'm glad we went, because I like trying new restaurants in Disney, but I think next time we will try something new! Like Via Napoli...yum! :woohoo:

(Continuing in next post...)

"Our Life" (part 2)

Once we were finished with Teppan Edo, we continued making our way through World Showcase. Brandon wanted to stop and listen to the band in Morocco for a while

IMG_1987.jpg

IMG_1988.jpg

and before we knew it...Gondor was calling for aid! (Sorry, another Lord of the Rings reference :rolleyes1)

IMG_1993.jpg

My whole goal for this night was to get a good spot to see Illuminations, and I wanted to go between England and Canada, like we always do. So we started walking over there, and of course, on the way, Brandon had to stop to go to the bathroom.

I started getting a little anxious, because people were snagging their spots for Illuminations, and the pre-Illuminations dance party music was going strong

(Ok, we have to pause for a moment, so I can explain...for those of you who don't know, I LOVE the music they play before Illuminations more than pretty much any other music in WDW...it's why this chapter of my TR is called "Our Life", it's one of the songs they play...if you want to here it, click HERE! :lovestruc Back to the TR...)

and I was just standing, somewhere between Morocco and England, just waiting for Brandon to come out of the bathroom.

After what seemed like forever, he came out, and I rushed him over to England, only to find the whole area full! So, since it seemed like there was still space along the bridge and around Morocco and France, I made us go back that way...but that was full too!

I wanted to be right up against the fence, I wanted to sit down, and enjoy Illuminations in it's entirety, which we hardly ever get to do, and now it seemed like everyone took up every spare inch of the fence in the World Showcase. Epcot was not busy at all that night, but I just didn't want to stand behind anyone.

So I started pouting and Brandon was getting annoyed with me, and he made us just go back to England and stand there. At that point I didn't care, I was convinced I wasn't going to be able to see very well, or have a good time, so I continued to pout. :rolleyes1

Once Illuminations started, though, my bad mood melted away, and even with the people in front of me, I managed to enjoy the show! I finally even got some decent pictures of Illuminations, which hardly ever happens!

Such a great show! If I didn't love Wishes so much, this would definitely be my favorite! The music is so perfect, and the combination of fireworks, water, and the lights on the WS buildings is incredible! It makes me wonder what the World of Color must be like at Disneyland!

We slowly made our way out of Epcot, and I was trying not to tear up listening to "We Go On" as we were leaving World Showcase! Everything has the potential to make me cry at Disney World! :rotfl2:

We went back to POR and I think we considered going in the hot tub for about 5 seconds, before we decided sleep was definitely the better option! We had another early morning ahead of us the next day, so we had to rest while we could!

Another amazing day of our Disney trip was over, only 3 days left! :sad1: And they are probably my favorite 3 days of the trip, so I can't wait to relive them while I write about them here! :goodvibes

Up next...Breakfast with some of my favorites!

Yay great update!!!

Sorry you didn't like Teppan Edo. It's a favorite for my family. My family had never eaten at one like that before and after going with some of my roommates down there, I convinced them to try it and now they are hooked! We've eaten at Benihanas here a few times but we love love love the noodles at TE. Of course the prices are way better at Benihana so we don't usually go to TE unless we are on the DDP. I've booked a TE ADR for in March just in case they totally change Le Cellier March 1st for lunch and we don't like the new menu..let's hope that's not the case!

Maybe they're plugs......:rolleyes1

:lmao:

I like Teppan Edo, but it's not a must do for me. We have a lot of hibachi restaurants in my area, so it's something we can get regularly.

I am totally with you about the margarita's! I'm the same way, I have one, and I'm a little bit happier than normal. ;) Yeah for the blue one (it was yummy, wasn't it?).

Yay! Great update!

FYI, I totally have the Pre-Illuminations music playing right now so thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad that I got my BF involved in the ADR making process! I convinced him to look at menus with me before I made our 2010 reservations and it worked out so well! We're already making plans for our potential 2011 trip.... I may already even have a temporary itinerary posted...:rolleyes1

I tried one of the margarita's from the little stand that was right outside the Mexico pavilion in 2009 and it was so strong I couldn't drink more than a few sips! I usually like frozen margaritas but that one was too much for me!

I like watching Mo'Roccan play! My BF stops to use that same bathroom in Morocco all the time so I usually get to sit on the little patio area and watch them.

And we're also fans of the Orange Side! If we get to go this year and we're there around the same time as you guys, we can totally meet up so we can ride together! We actually haven't gone on it in a couple of trips....I don't know why but we seem to just skip over that whole part of Future World :confused3

Ahhhh, I love wandering around World Showcase at night! :lovestruc

I've never managed to see the band in Morocco. Glad you still enjoyed Illuminations, despite not being in the first row.

Can't wait to hear about your favorite days!
