We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Good choice on going to Epcot, can't believe that you got to ride TT over and over and then Soarin'.

I really would like to try Fulton's. I had it booked this trip, but then we decided to do the ddp again I had to drop it. Maybe next time?

Can't wait to see what you got at WoD.

That turkey leg shirt is hilarious!! Good thing you tried Test Track again...you could have been missing out on the fun if you didn't give it another shot :goodvibes

Hey Jen! I swear I'm coming back to catch up this weekend!

Did you see all the GRASS outside!!!! The snow piles are starting to shrink!!:banana::banana:

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but things have been crazy. I just got all caught up and I can't wait to read the rest. You definitely have me wanting to try some new things on my next trip (especially staying at WL sometime). I'm really hoping your new dream resort is the Poly because I :lovestruc Poly! It and AKL are my favorite resorts (though I haven't stayed at BC or WL yet). Either way, I can't wait to hear the rest!

Oh, I almost forgot... What dates did you finally decide on for your next trip?

What a great evening at Epcot! I would love to be able to ride TT twice with such a short wait! It's my favorite ride at Epcot, but it always seems to take forever to get on, even when the line isn't too bad. And so lucky there were still Soarin' FP too! And I LOVE the blue palm trees! (I'm a big fan of blue, in general). Look forward to hearing about your MVMCP! (And dinner at the Poly!:cloud9:)

OK - Is it going to be really annoying that I am posting in between your two posts. Sorry! :rolleyes1

For some reason I got this feeling to check your TR tonight! And look what I found.

I'll tell you why you loved TT - cause you rode it in the dark! It was dark out, right? Its such a great ride in the dark. In fact, I try to only ride it in the dark. Soooooo much better!

Love the blue palm trees.

Yummy dinner.

How did I miss the BC and back switch?????

I hope you love AKL. It really is special!

Really, TT is better in the dark? I'm not sure when we rode it the first time, if it was dark or not, but it was just so much fun! :thumbsup2

I'm so obsessed with those palm trees at Epcot! I wanted to have my TR title include that somewhere, but I couldn't think of anything good!

LOL, I was only booked at BC for about a week, so it was easy to miss! I'm really excited about AKL, I know I'm gonna love it! :lovestruc

:rotfl2: Phew - Perfect timing!

:rotfl:

LOL, the Poly!!! Don't worry though, there is no chance of me switching to stay there, way too expensive for me! Someday, though!

great updates!!!!!!

I have not seen the turkey leg shirt but it's darn cute but your right, I wouldn't buy it!!!

I have never been to Fultons either! It's one of the few places I haven't been. I love seafood but I know it's expensive so I dunno. I guess I should have tried it when I got food discounts!

What resort do you love?! I'm guessin it's YC/BC!

Thanks! That turkey leg shirt is awesome, I actually saw someone in the grocery store a few weeks ago wearing one and I was so excited, I wanted to say something, but I didn't want to seem like a psycho!

Fulton's is really fantastic, but it is ridiculously expensive!

I was talking about the Poly, I fell in love with it on this trip, we visited there for a few hours and it was SO amazing! :lovestruc

I LOVE that turkey leg shirt! :lmao: How awesome is that?!

I love sleeping in and going shopping at DTD. It's a fun way to spend a day.

You're too funny with your resort bouncing! I know what you mean about wanting more money to spend at Disney though. Very important.

I love the Turkey Leg shirt, you know, I kind of want to buy it next time, just to wear around the house! :rotfl:

I always seem to discover new places at DTD, no matter how many times I go there, I love it!

LOL, I can't help it, I have a problem with changing resorts! I'm happy to be back at AKL, but like I said, if I have to switch to a mod, I have no problem with that either, we'll see!

TT was so much fun, it was nice that there was such a short wait time, you never see that, no matter how slow it is! Epcot was pretty empty that night, so I'm glad we went!

You should definitely try Fulton's sometime, it's great! I didn't get to have dessert because I was so stuffed from my dinner, but the dessert menu looks so good!

LOL, the turkey leg shirt is so great! :woohoo:

TT is awesome, I'm so glad we went on it again and have a new favorite at Epcot! :)

Hey Jen! I swear I'm coming back to catch up this weekend!

Did you see all the GRASS outside!!!! The snow piles are starting to shrink!!:banana::banana:

I know, there is hardly any snow left in my front yard!!! However, did you see the weather forecast for next week? We might get more snow...ugh!!!!

That's ok, glad you're caught up! :woohoo:

My dream resort IS the Poly! I love it SO much, it's like a vacation all on it's own! :lovestruc We only spent a few hours there, I can only imagine what it must be like to stay for a week! I hope we get to stay there someday! WL is amazing, you should definitely give it a try someday! Glad to hear you like AKL, I can't wait to stay there!

Our next trip is 9/30-10/8! Originally it was the last week of September, then I changed it to the first week of October! I hope it's a good week to go!

It was a great night at Epcot, it was almost more fun because we didn't plan to go there! And TT was an unexpected surprise! The only thing I wish they would do is let you skip that little movie they make you watch! I can understand if it's busy and they need a place to hold people, but there was no one there that night! :rotfl: I can't believe there were still Soarin FP's so late!

I love those blue palm trees, I was seriously so obsessed with them! I love palm trees in general (as soon as I see them when the plane lands in Florida, I get SO excited!) but the fact that they are colored at Epcot makes them even better!

I can't wait to do my next few updates, it was such a great night! :yay:

When I'm at TT I always think of Stacy's "Test Track, Baby!" :lmao: I can't believe that wasn't a must do for you guys until now! It's so much fun at night, too! I'm so glad you "rediscovered" it! :thumbsup2

Love the turkey leg shirt! Not everyone can appreciate that you know?! :rotfl2:

I'm the same way in Basin - I'm not much of a bath person either, but mostly because my skin is so sensitive that all I can use is dove soap so I really can't use any of that stuff, but it's so much fun to browse.

I can't wait to hear what the new dream resort is!

LOL, Stacey is so annoying, but you can't help but watch her and think of the things she says when you're at the parks! :rotfl: I miss the old show though, the must do's are boring! :confused3

Test Track is so much fun, I'm so happy we gave it another chance! :thumbsup2

I really think I might buy that Turkey Leg shirt the next time I'm there!

Basin is so nice, I'm always tempted to buy one of those giant balls for the bath, but I can't take a bath, I get bored really fast! Maybe if I had a huge jacuzzi tub I could do it, but my tub is just too small! :rotfl:

I would expect Earl of Sandwich to carry Earl Grey tea. :rotfl:

What a great night at Epcot! It would be so cool to ride TT twice and then ride Soarin'. Last minute decisions are often the best at Disney. :thumbsup2

LOL, they do have Earl Grey tea, but it's terrible! :sad2: Anytime you get hot tea in Disney, it's Twinings, and I just don't like that brand! Especially the Earl Grey! :confused3

I'm so glad we went to Epcot instead of AK, if we didn't, I would probably have never gone on TT this trip and I would still think I didn't like it! I would like to do AK at night sometime, just to go on EE in the dark! I can't wait for October hours to be out!!!

Aloha!

Day 7, 11/18 Part 2

After our morning of shopping at DTD, we rested for a few hours for the night ahead of us! I was so excited for this night, first we were having dinner at Ohana, and then, the Christmas party! We went to the Christmas party the year before, and it was so much fun, so I couldn't wait to go again!

Our Ohana reservation was for 5:00 and I wanted to get to the Poly a couple hours early, to walk around and look at everything. I think we ended up getting to the Poly around 3.

We parked in the MK parking lot and took the resort monorail over to the Poly. I told Brandon we could just walk, but he wanted to take the monorail for some reason.

We got off the monorail and went inside and saw the beautiful Christmas decorations immediately!

We didn't really have a plan, so we just wandered around and looked around the little store

IMG_2150.jpg

I LOVE that Mickey and Minnie, so cute!

I really wanted to see the pool and the beach, so we went downstairs and made our way out to the pool

IMG_2151.jpg

It is SO beautiful! I've seen pictures of it before, but it's so different in person!

I love how tropical everything is, how perfectly themed the Poly is, everything fits together so well!

IMG_2153.jpg

IMG_2156.jpg

We went and looked at the beach, and I started telling Brandon how nice it would be to stay here someday, and he agreed. He said he wanted to get a beer and sit on the beach for a little while, so we went to the bar by the pool, got his beer, and checked out the beach for a good spot...and I saw exactly where I wanted to be!

IMG_2157.jpg

I got in my hammock and started taking some pictures of the things around me

IMG_2159.jpg

IMG_2161.jpg

and Brandon was kind of just hovering next to me. We were just chatting about how nice it would be to stay here, and how if we did, we would have a nice, relaxing vacation and spend a lot of time on the beach in a hammock! Then I started putting the idea in his head of maybe coming a few days in May for our 1 year anniversary and he actually agreed, and said we should stay at the Poly! Let me tell you, I was absolutely giddy!

(Unfortunately, that plan obviously didn't work out, or I'd be going in 3 months, but it was nice to think that we were going for a little while!)

Brandon eventually went off by himself for a little while to hang out on a beach chair, and I just...relaxed! It was amazing, it was the first time on this whole vacation that I just stopped thinking about what time it was, and what we had to do next, and relaxed!

IMG_2162.jpg

I finally let Brandon have my hammock for a little while, so I walked around a little and took more pictures.

IMG_2166.jpg

I can't believe the castle is RIGHT THERE!!!

IMG_2167.jpg

I love this picture, it looks like a postcard!

Eventually, we had to leave the beach and go check in to Ohana, so we went inside and made our way upstairs.

IMG_2170.jpg

IMG_2171.jpg

When we got up to Ohana, it was a madhouse! It was probably 4:45 at that point, Ohana wasn't even open, and there were just mobs of people waiting outside! There was even a line to check in! We finally checked ourselves in, and got a buzzer and found a seat.

IMG_2172.jpg

Eventually it was 5:00 and they started seating people, and we just sat and waited. It seemed like our buzzer would never go off, and they were seating people who got there after us, so that was kind of annoying! Eventually we got seated, and we had such a perfect table! Right by the window, where you could see the castle across the water! Definitely worth the wait!

IMG_2174.jpg

(Ok, well, you can barely see the castle in this picture, but I swear it's there! I didn't zoom in when I took this picture, but that was our view!)

Our cousin came over to our table and explained how everything worked and asked if we were staying at the Poly. Brandon said no, but we are coming back in May and definitely staying there for our anniversary! I was SO excited! AND he was already agreeing to a second trip in either the fall or winter...to Disneyland! (Again, obviously these plans didn't work out, I kind of wish they did!)

They started immediately bringing us food

IMG_2175.jpg

and I wanted a lapu lapu. I've been reading about it on the DIS for so long, and I wanted one, but it wasn't in the drink menu! So I didn't know if they still had them! Finally, I saw someone else getting one, and when our server came back, I pointed to it and asked for one!

IMG_2183.jpg

I loved it! It was such a good drink, and being served in a pineapple made it that much better!

They gave us our leis

IMG_2179.jpg

(I do have a picture of me with my lei, but it's terrible!)

and brought out more food

IMG_2176.jpg

which was really good, but I was trying not to fill up on everything!

Those are the last pictures I took of the food, sorry! I was starting to feel that lapu lapu and was concentrating on eating when everything else came out!

Everything was great, except the shrimp...that peel and eat shrimp is SO annoying! And you know what else I find annoying about this place? That woman they have walking around, singing. The games they have the kids do are fine, but I just think this woman, constantly walking around and singing and telling people to get up and do things is obnoxious!

Finally...they brought out dessert...the bread pudding! :worship:

It is THE best dessert I've ever had, anywhere, in my entire life. It was so good that I want to go back to Ohana, just for that. They only gave us one to share, and our cousin said she would bring us another one if we wanted, but we said one would be fine...little did we know that we would practically be fighting each other over it! :rotfl: She came back and asked if we wanted another one, but again, we said no, because we didn't want to seem like pigs!

I was also starting to get in a panic because it was so late...it was maybe 6:30 when we finished up? Originally I wanted to be in MK by 6:30 to get in line for the Seven Dwarfs, but that plan didn't work out!

We raced to the monorail, only to find the platform crowded with people, and everyone talking about how the monorail was broken. Ughhhh...seriously! So we decided to go find the boat and take the boat to MK, which was a great idea! We got on the boat immediately and saw the monorail stuck between the Poly and GF, just not moving!

As I watched the Poly fade away, I thought about how much I loved it there, I have definitely found my new dream resort! There is something special about the Poly, it's almost like it's own vacation just being there. You really feel like you are in Hawaii, or some exotic tropical island when you're there, and Disney World being a boat ride away is just a bonus! I hope to get to stay there someday, but I guess until then, going to Ohana and visiting for a few hours will be good enough! :thumbsup2

Up next...MVMCP!!!

great update!! I've only stayed at Poly once and we loved it! We haven't stayed there since because it just always seems so darn expensive compared to WL and we love the lodge as well! The food looked good at Ohana! How was your service. Our service has never been good there but the food is always very good! You had one of the first ADRs of the day though so maybe that's the key! Ours always seem to be 8pm or later! I had the same drink last year on my birthday and it was very strong! My brother helped me with it a bit and we still didn't finish it!

I loved this update!!! Your pictures of the Poly are so beautiful - I'm just giddy with excitement. I can't wait to be sitting on that beach in front of the castle watching Wishes on the first night of our honeymoon. :cloud9: I hope you get to stay there soon too - maybe next year for your anniversary since this one didn't work out! ;)

I completely agree about that woman at 'Ohana! She is really annoying. I love the shrimp, but they are so hard to eat! I don't like having to work that much for my food! :lmao:

I can't wait to hear about the party!

Glad you liked the Polynesian! It's been years since we've stayed there but all of us agree we want to go back some day. I'm hoping that if my sister gets accepted into the College Program we can go visit her and stay at the Poly (hopefully with a nice CM discount)...I can dream right? :)

The Poly is my dream resort as well. It is so darn expensive though! Your 'Ohana meal is making me hungry, can't wait for my next meal there!

Great update!

The Poly is my favorite! I was fortunate enough to stay there for one trip (only thanks to my parents!), and it is by far my favorite resort.

I haven't eaten at Ohana for dinner, only for breakfast, but all this talk of the Lapu Lapu and the bread pudding definitely make me want to go there for dinner.

Thanks! It IS so expensive, I don't know how we are ever going to afford it. Even with 40% off it's just too insane compared to the other deluxe resorts. :confused3 Oh well, someday, I hope!

Our service was great at Ohana! Our waitress sometimes disappeared, but we never really needed anything from her, since so many other people just brought food out and dropped it at your table! I want to go back in October, just for that bread pudding! :lovestruc

I wish we stayed at the Poly on our Disneymoon, we probably would have been able to afford that since we were only there 5 nights, but my dream resort last May was the Beach Club! You're going to have such a great time! I'm thinking of making a late ADR at Ohana for dinner then going down to the beach to watch Wishes, I've always wanted to do that, and then maybe go into MK after if there are magic hours!

I wish there were times that that woman wasn't at Ohana, like after 8 or something, since she's there more for kids. I'll just have to try harder to block her out...maybe have 2 lapu lapus! :rotfl:

I think I ate one shrimp and gave up...it was SO hard to peel! Next time I'll just tell them I don't want any and ask for more steak!

I'm so glad you guys liked the Poly! I'd love to stay there someday :)

We LOVED the Poly! :lovestruc I asked Brandon last night if there was any way we could stay there in October and he got kind of annoyed...he really wants to stay at AKL! :confused3 :rotfl:
