How in the world did I not realize you had a PTR going all this time?!? I'm finally here!!! I'm going to make some random comments starting from the beginning because I'm going to catch up to where you are now!

I think teaching older kids just makes more sense to some degree. You get to actually share your knowledge and your love for literature! It's fun to find some new information and learn something new and have a group of people who want to (hehe, or are "forced" to) listen to it. Well, my kids love any of it because sometimes they turn into tangents. That's their new favorite word; they didn't know it before I taught it to them!

HAHA, your pet peeve is babies in denim jackets? That got me cracking up! Haha, and then John's issue of drinks in the bathroom. I think that's gross! I personally can't stand ketchup on my fingers. I kind of freak out about it. Don't know if that's really considered a pet peeve though (the licking food off fingers thing reminded me of it).

Wow, I am amazed that you guys can handle the separation during the week. Weird and I only get to see each other on the weekends since there's a dumb ol' bridge with an $11 toll between us. It just doesn't make sense to see each other during the week especially with work (it'd only leave us a few hours for dinner, and we'd rather spend the entire day together). I thought we had it bad when I compare us to my cousins who get to see their significant others many times in one week!

I do think, however, that not seeing your SO makes the relationship so much stronger. I admire you guys for being able to withstand the distance. I think that if I were ever in that situation, being a teacher would really help out! All those "kiddies" and their wacky lives and their crazy drama can definitely distract for a couple of hours a day!

Funny that you initially planned on Washington DC because that's one place that Weird and I really want to go! It's possible that that or Pennyslvania (Hershey + Lancaster) might end up being our honeymoon if having a Disneymoon would be too much money at one time (we'll have to pay for our own wedding and our own place).

Random, but I'm hoping that you'll have wedding pics in the PTR! I'm only on the 2nd page, so I don't know if you posted any!

Haha, you are such a wacky girl, Joni! I love it! Haha, all your poses in random places make for great photos!

What did you think about the orchard chicken salad sub from Subway? Weird and I split one this past Sunday for the first time. We liked it, but I kept on spitting out the golden raisins. I have an issue with them because when I was a child, we went to a Chinese restaurant that put them in the fried rice! I was so turned off by the idea of raisins in my rice that I always have to pick them out of anything now. Other than that, we thought it was good! I still like the Panera "Napa Almond Chicken Salad" because it's made with a dressing instead of mayo and has celery, grapes, and almonds in it. I'm looking forward to making chicken salad for Weird and me with fruit in it!

WOW, I think that's so cool that you happened to be there to see Davy Jones! When I see the Flower Power concert list, he's the only one that interests me. Haha, it's because I don't know anyone else on that list really AND my parents listened to the Monkees. Oh, and because Marcia Brady loved him.

Oh dear, that picture from Dinosaur is just PERFECT!

Okie dokie, I'm all caught up! I think the beauty of Disney is that you can never truly do EVERYTHING there is to do. There's always something else to do or see or something you never noticed the first 10 tens you were on it!

Yay!! :welcome: I have loved reading your TR so I am so excited you're here!

I completely agree with you about teaching older kids. All of my students call me a nerd because I get so excited about anything English related. But it's so much fun to share something that I love with them and find a way to make it interesting to them. For example, when we read The Crucible last semester (which is one of my favorites) at first they were not into it at all but by the end they were obsessed! I heard two of my girls talking during lunch about one of the characters like she was a real person. I was like :woohoo:! Haha, as you can see, I can relate to you with the whole tangent thing too!

Yes, oh my goodness, babies in denim jackets drive me crazy. They just look so miserable and uncomfortable. Their little arms are too small for those stiff sleeves so they end up sticking out at their sides. It makes me itchy just looking at them. I can see where you're coming from with the ketchup thing- I hate it when you're eating something ketchupy and then realize there is some hiding on the back of your hand or finger somewhere. Ugh!

I think you are absolutely right, seeing each other only on the weekends really does make our relationship a lot stronger. I feel like now we don't fight about the insignificant things as much as we used to because we are valuing our time together more. I'm sorry that you and Weird only get to see each other on the weekends too. Being around the kids all week definitely helps! They are hilarious and are always finding new ways to make me laugh.

I love that part of Pennsylvania you're talking about for your honeymoon! We used to go there a lot while visiting family. Hershey Park is amazing! It reminds me of Willy Wonka because they had the chocolate factory right next to the theme park so no matter where you were in the park it always smelled like fresh chocolate! It was amazing!

I didn't even think to put some wedding pics on here! Good idea! Since I still have sooo long until my trip maybe I will do that! Thanks for the idea!

Haha, I'm glad you like my pics! Some of them are bad quality because I'm not so great with the scanner but now that I joined the rest of the human race and got a digital camera they should start getting better!

I liked the chicken salad from Subway a lot, but I ate it so much in such a short period of time that now I can't even look at it! I have never heard of raisins in rice before! I don't think I would like that either. I've never had Panera's chicken salad before! That sounds good!

I got so excited about Davy Jones! I liked him because my mom used to play the Monkees in the car all the time when I was little and because of that Brady Bunch episode, too! Haha! He's a tiny little thing!

I agree with you, that really is the beauty of Disney. They put so much effort into everything there's always something new to see! Now if only I didn't have to wait six months to go!

I love Mickey's Philharmagic and Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor! They both silly, but still cute! I always crack up at Monster's Inc. (like a little kid).

I just wrote on your FB too, but I'll be around to chat today if you're free! :goodvibes

Hi everyone! :wave2: I hope that you all have been doing fabulous! I wanted to post a quick update because we've got some major changes going on with this trip! (Hence the Brady Bunch song quote...can't you just hear Peter's pubescent voice cracking? :rotfl:)

So here it is, folks...the big change...

It looks like we're back to just "The South" going on this trip. Wendy emailed me this morning and told me that she and my cousin Josh are not going to be able to come with us. :sad1: They made an offer on a house recently and the sellers accepted, so they are now buying their first home! This is very exciting and I am so happy for them. :goodvibes Unfortunately, they can't exactly spend $3000 on a vacation right now. Also, they were planning on using Josh's frequent flyer miles to fly to Florida for free but there were no available tickets. So these two reasons mean that it's back to just DH and I on our trip.

We're a little bummed because we were really looking forward to doing a couple's trip, but we completely understand their reasoning. If we were buying a home we wouldn't be able to go either! ;) This means a lot of big changes for our plans, though. Wendy and I had been working together to decide on a day by day schedule that was a compromise of what both couples wanted to do. But now that they aren't coming, John and I can go back to planning to do exactly what we want to do when we want to do it. :thumbsup2

John and I always have the most AMAZING time when we go to WDW alone, so I know that this time will be no different. :goodvibes The planned ADR list I posted awhile ago is no longer valid. We are going to change around our hopeful day by day schedule and restaurant plans and I will post a new and improved ADR list. I might wait and do this next week after I actually make the ressies. Speaking of which, 8 days until I make ADRs!! Which means 188 days until our trip!! :woohoo:

Here's a little dilemma I have to face...should I change the title of my PTR? It doesn't really apply anymore. I'm going to see if I can come up with something really creative. What do you guys think, should I change it or leave it? We're going to be looking at it for the next 6 months so I want it to be good!

I am excited to try both of those! The Stitch ride always cracks me up for some reason. I guess I am so immature that I find the burp in my face hilarious! :rotfl:

I'm so sorry I haven't been around to chat much lately. I have been really busy but things are slowing down so I will definitely be on this week some! :)

Hey, glad you're back, I've missed you!!!!

I'm sorry "The North" can no longer go on your trip. :( It would probably be fun to be going with another couple, especially if you wanted a break from your DH for a little while or something! But you will have an amazing time either way, and it will probably be easier to plan if it's just you and your DH!

Can't wait to hear what ADR's you're going to make now! :cool1:

And yes, I would change my PTR title if I were you! You know how I was about not starting my PTR til I came up with a good title, because I had to look at it for 5 months, so I can understand wanting to come up with something good!

Although, don't ask me for help! It took me a long time to think of mine, and it's not even that great! :rotfl2:

Thanks girl! Things have been kind of hectic lately but I'm back now!

You are totally right, I think it's going to be a lot easier to plan with just DH and I going. We are going to miss Josh and Wendy, but now we can plan the entire trip our way. I think I am going to try a few of the restaurants you have ADRs for, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I better decide, quick, I've only got a week!

Thanks for the advice about the title...I need to think of a really good one. It will probably take a while but I'll come up with something! :)

That's too bad the North can't come with you all, but you know, life takes over at some point! But the awesome thing is that you can be with DH alone at the happiest place on earth, despite your friends not being able to make it.

Looking forward to reading all the ADR and plan changes!

I like the title of your PTR as it was catchy, and I definitely think you should leave "The South" somewhere in it if you do decide to change it!

You're exactly right, now I have a whole week with just DH, me, and Mickey of course! Plus now we can eat at all of our favorite restaurants without feeling guilty!

I have been obsessing over restaurant menus on allears.net all morning trying to figure out where we want to eat. Decisions, decisions. We have all of our old favorites, but I really want to try some new places this trip too!

Thanks for your input on the title! I want to leave The South in there somewhere if I can for sure...hmmm...I need to get creative! :rotfl:

In response to your comment:

I'm sure I would have loved to be in your English class. I remember reading The Crucible as a junior, but I don't think we did anything interesting with it. It was one of our essay books. I remember when we read The Scarlet Letter, for extra credit, we could decorate our own letter and wear it at school for a week. If anyone saw us without it on, we wouldn't get the extra credit.

I think Hershey Park has a bit of magic in the park as compared to other theme parks (Six Flags, Dorney Park, etc.). I think that if we can't make it to WDW, it's a good [cheap!] replacement. Despite the yummy chocolate smells, however, I'd still love a Disneymoon!

Still waiting for those wedding pics, hehe. ;)

In response to your latest update:

Loved that you referenced Peter Brady! I sing that all the time with the squeaks and everything!

It stinks that you won't have the couples trip that was planned, but it's still a woohoo that you guys get to go regardless! Weird and I are just LOOKING at prices of houses. We're not anywhere near that stage, but BOY, that's going to be a good chunk of change! That's why we probably won't have the Disneymoon. But yay for Josh and Wendy being homeowners! Such a big deal!

I love "The South" part of your TR because I really believe I'm a southern girl at heart. Haha, I get to live vicariously through you. :yay:

Thank you for saying that about being in my class! You are so sweet! I think the same thing when I am reading your TR because you sound like such a fun teacher! That is really cool what you did with The Scarlet Letter. I won't lie, that is probably my least favorite American lit book and I am always trying to think of ways to make it more interesting (for myself and my students). I love that idea!

I agree with you about Hershey Park. I've been there several times with my family and we always love it! It reminds me a lot of Disney because it's a "prettier" park. They actually took the time to do some landscaping. I feel like all the other parks are just concrete jungles.

I promise you I will post some wedding pics soon! I think I am going to post them on Monday because it will be our 2 year anniversary! That seems pretty fitting! Our theme was "Happily Ever After" too, so that will go along nicely with my PTR! :goodvibes

HAHA! I love that you sing like Peter Brady too! It sounds like we have very similar senses of humor.

You're right, buying a house is such a big deal. Wendy felt really bad when she emailed me about having to cancel their trip, but I was like, "Um...HELLO?! You just bought a house, girl! I completely understand!" :rotfl: DH and I are like you and Weird...we are nowhere near buying a house. We have to wait and see where he's going to be stationed for a while first!

Thanks for your input on the title! I think I will definitely leave "The South" in there somewhere because it completely defines me. I am southern to my core. I might post some videos later on in the PTR of DH and I from past trips so you can hear our ridiculous accents!

Ooooh please post videos of you and your DH! :cool1: I would love to hear your ridiculous accents, I just can't picture it for some reason!! :rotfl:

I'm back from vacation and getting all caught up!

Sorry for the changes :( I guess everything happens for a reason! Getting a house is a great thing though. I'm glad ours in PA finally sold and we're settling in in Ohio!

We'll see what other changes come along..adrs!!!

:rotfl: I definitely will! DH is going to have to show me how to upload videos but I have a few really good ones. I've got one of me on RnRC somewhere...it's very funny!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I'm glad to have you on board!

Where did you live in PA? And where do you live now in Ohio? My Grandpa and a lot of my family live in Freedom, PA. I also have a lot of family in Poland, Ohio. Is than anywhere near you?

I am making my ADRs on Tuesday! I'm so excited! But I am so undecided about where to eat! I need to figure it out!

I'm heading over to check out your PTR now! :)

You need to get on chat Tuesday when you're making your ADRs so I can be moral/fun support!!!

I'm sorry that your North can't go, but I know you and John will have a fantastic trip!! I'm so excited that you know about the Christmas stuff now!

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks again for the Halloween suggestions/opinions! :lovestruc

Yes!! I will definitely get on chat Tuesday so we can talk while I make my ADRs! I will need some moral support because I have worked so hard on planning where to eat if I don't get what I want I'll probably freak out! :rotfl:

Thanks girl! :) You're right, we will have a fantastic trip! We always do when it's just the two of us. And ever since you told me about the Christmas stuff I am BEYOND excited! :woohoo:

I hope you have a great weekend as well! Enjoy the wedding reception and Wicked! I am going to go through my MNSSHP stuff tonight and organize it so I can email you my suggestions! :goodvibes
