wdwgirl goes on safari...May 14-19 with tons of pics and video: final update, p. 18

Hi everyone! No updates but I just wanted to share this because I'm super excited!!! Yesterday I got to sub at the school where I did my student teaching (it's always nice to go back there). So of course I had to go say hi to my cooperating teacher. Well...it turns out she needs a sub for tomorrow morning and she asked if I could come in! My placement was for the whole semester (I was there from September to January) so I got pretty attached to some of the kids...it was really hard leaving! Needless to say I am pumped, and the kids are all excited too!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

We're nearing the one month mark until Disney World!!!! :thumbsup2

Ohh thats exciting!!! I'm sure the kids will love to see you again!

Since I'm not subbing today, I've been doing some DISing. hehe I was on the Collectors Board and saw a thread about pressed pennies. I know that I've seen a list of all the machine locations somewhere, so the thread inspired me to do a little search and I came across the list. I printed it out and then dug out my penny book and started checking off which ones I had (let's just say I've got a long way to go! HAHA. Not that I want to get all of them!) I've decided that I'm going to take the list along with me and try to find some cool ones. They're a cheap souvenir and I always like to look at them to remind me of my trips. :goodvibes It was sort of fun because I couldn't remember where I got some of the pennies but then when I found them on the checklist, it triggered my memory.

Here's my penny book and checklist!

Disneyland/Universal pennies and the 25th anniversary quarter!

I think I'm going to need to get a new book for these stray pennies. :)

After going through the list and seeing how many pennies there are I put aside some quarters and pennies so I'm already set to add to my collection! :teeth:

The kids were really excited (as was I!). My cooperating teacher set aside some time for us to just visit and the kids all had soooo much to say about their spring breaks, etc. They did not want to stop talking! I really miss them. The only bad thing was that I was not feeling that well so I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I would have. :sad2: Luckily it was only for the morning because I don't think I would've made it...I pretty much came home and lied down until almost 6:00. But it was still really nice to be back in the class. I'm actually scheduled to sub at that school Tues.-Fri. of this week (not in my class) so I'm happy about that too. :)

I'm glad you had a good time! Stinks you are sick though. That is never any fun. :sad2: I hope you feel better real soon!

Ohhh and by the way I love your pressed pennies collection! I have some but I never thought about getting one of those books. I'm going to look into that next month. What a great idea!

Thanks. I was supposed to go to a teacher recruitment fair this morning but decided to skip it and just take it easy for the day. I am feeling better though.

Yeah, you should definitely think about getting one of the penny books! It is a nice way to store them. I'm thinking about getting a second one...hopefully the prices on them haven't gone up too much since I got the other one. haha

Thanks! There are sooooo many different pennies in WDW and I'm looking forward to adding some more to my collection. :)

Hello everyone! :wave2:

This past week I was pretty busy with subbing. Tuesday-Friday I was at the school I did my student teaching at...3 of the 4 days I was in a 6th grade class...ohhh let's just say it was kind of rough. :guilty: But like I read on the teacher's thread on here you have some bad days and some good days. So I'm happy it's the weekend! :thumbsup2

Last night we went out to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday (her bday was actually Thursday). We went out to dinner and then came home and had cake. hehe It was nice. And of course we watched the Disney Splurge show on the Travel Channel...some pretty neat stuff they showed on there! I want to be one of those VIP tour guides! That would be so FUN!

I also have to share this (even though it's going to sound REALLLLLY dorky!), but I had a dream the other night that I got to ride on the Toy Story Mania ride. LOL!:rotfl::blush: I know, I'm pathetic. ;) I guess I'm ready for Disney World right now! I'm still crossing my fingers that we're lucky enough to ride it on our trip!

Anyway...back to our trip! We've decided for sure that we're going to go to Sea World on Saturday. Since it's been so long since we've been there, we'll probably spend most of the day there. Dad mentioned how after Sea World we could maybe just hang around and do stuff around the resort (WDW, not AKL, hehe) instead of going to one of the parks at night. So we might just go over to Downtown Disney and eat at the Rainforest Cafe and go mini golfing. Who really knows for sure what we'll end up doing, but I like this idea! I've always wanted to eat at the Rainforest Cafe so that could be pretty cool! :cool2: And I LOOOOOOVE mini golfing!

Lol dont feel like a dork, I've had disney dreams too! I'm really hoping to ride Toy Story Mania too! It's sounds great!

Can't wait to read about your trip to sea world and the mini golfing! Ohhh and you will love the rainforest cafe! Wicked cute restraunt. :goodvibes

Hello again DISers! :wave2:

A couple of small updates...nothing too exciting but updates nonetheless. :)

1.) I subbed again today but my dad just told me that he went over to the airport today to pay for/get our tickets. Because we were using those flight vouchers I guess the tickets work a little differently. But we finally got them!

2.) We also have our rental car all set for when we go to Sea World. I've looked at the Sea World site a couple of times but still have to decide what are my must-sees...which will probably be everything since I haven't been there in forever.

16 days to go!!! AHHHHH!!!!! :woohoo: :mickeyjum :woohoo: :mickeyjum

Sooo close now!

That is exciting you have your plane tickets in hand. Well your dad does but at least you guys have them!

I can't wait to hear all about Sea World. I went when I was 5 but I don't remember any of it. Can't wait to experience it through your eyes.

16 days!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I know, I can't wait!

I'm excited to go back to Sea World...the last time we went I was 10 or so and don't really remember anything other than it was really cold and my youngest sister (who would've been 5 at the time and has always been a bit of a daredevil) got "lost"...she climbed WAAAAAY up high on this big jungle gym thing and my mom was freaking out about it. hehe

BTW, I am checking out your trippie from your first DIS meet in October. :)

Haha thats crazy about your sister. I don't think you will have to be too worried about that this time. ;)

Oh cool! I hope you like that trippie. We had a great time at the dis meet (despite the rain)!

It is hard to believe May is here and we're only 11 days away from our trip!!  Since it's rainy here today I thought I'd take another look at the Sea World website to pick out my must-sees. I'm so excited for Sea World!!! I also went looking through some old pictures to see if I could find some from the last time we were there, but no such luck. I only found one...I'll try to scan it in later.

SHOWS:
-Believe!
You cannot visit Sea World and not see the famous Shamu!

-Clyde and Seamore.
I remember seeing this show when I was 10. The little otter was so cute! We also have some home video from it as well...I might have to dig it out sometime before we go to get me pumped up. :)

-Blue Horizons
The dolphin show!!! Looooove dolphins and this one sounds really neat.

ATTRACTIONS:
-Dolphin Cove
I know we did this the last time we were there but I think I was too afraid to actually pet one of the dolphins. This time I won't chicken out. ;)

-Manatee Rescue
Manatees are so cute.

-Penguin Encounter
I know I could see penguins at the zoo but they're some of my favorite animals. Love 'em! (can you tell I just love animals in general?!?!?)

-Pacific Point Preserve
The sea lion exhibit. Don't think I'll be feeding any though. LOL.

-Shark Encounter
I'll try not to get too scared

-Stingray Lagoon
Another interactive exhibit!

I'll have to decide if I want to do the rides they have. My sister said she wants to do the Kraken roller coaster, but I'm kind of a wimp (see tag ;) ). So we'll see.
