wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

Finally back to DIS! Whew, I don't like "forced" breaks! Doesn't the world know I need DIS time?

I haven't ridden Space Mountain in so long. I remember one time I went with my dad's friend's daughter. We used our FastPasses, and we wanted to go back on again. We were willing to wait on the long line to do it. The CM stopped us at the front, I guess to prevent clogged lines inside? I don't know. He was holding on to the stick thing to measure the little kids, but he accidentally dropped it. It hit my legs and scraped me up pretty badly. He had to get me bandaids and whatnot, and he was trying to encourage me to go to First Aid to get it cleaned up, but we just wanted to ride! He kept asking what he could do to make it better, and I said, "Um, can we go to the front of the line?" So he wrote out 2 FPs for us! And I only had to get hurt and bleed to get them! I just totally went off on a tangent, didn't I ...

Where did you read about the predicted crowd levels? I was talking to my mom about that because we were hoping there'd be fewer people just because the New York spring break crowd would go the week before we do because their break doesn't match with my private school break. What's the blackout date stuff mean?

Last time we went in February, so I am kind of anxious about crowd levels because I was used to a lower crowd level and much cooler weather where it's easier to not realize the amount of people. I did get information about the Guest Assistance Card (I'll be writing about it in an update soon), so maybe that'll help with the waits in line.

I still really really really hope that we can meet!

Yay Rachel, welcome back! We are so close to our trips!

Oh my, that stinks about what happened to your leg but cool you got the fastpasses.

I actually didn't see the stuff about the crowds, my dad's been reading some stuff...probably on the theme parks strategies board? Usually during peak times they don't let you use any of the special deals on room rates and such. But for some reason they removed them. :confused3

That would be so fun if we could meet!

Triple Mountain Whammy!!!

:yay: Don't you love it?!

Hey guys!

Yesterday was such a busy day I didn't get a chance to add a new countdown picture. Oops! Never fear, I've got one for today. :)

Only 16 days until...

The "highway in the sky"

We always kind of have a tradition of guessing which monorail color we'll see first. Once you start seeing monorails you know you're REALLY there!

I also mentioned the other day how I bought something I plan on using for our trip. If you don't already know, I am a Vera Bradley junkie (I know I'm not alone on this!!!). Well, they just released their new summer colors so I had to go out and get something! It's actually kind of a late birthday present, but here's what I ended up getting:

A new duffel!!! Isn't it cute?! Purple is my favorite color so I knew I had to get this pattern. And I love how it's such a simple design compared to some of the other ones...it's more "classic" VB. It was also nice because I got it for half off. :teeth:

While this isn't trip-related I also bought this super cute mug, which is also in one of the new summer colors.

Even the box is cute! Love it.

And since we're talking VB here's the bag I plan on using in the parks (the same one I used in August). The best thing about this style is you don't have to carry it. :thumbsup2

In other trip news I still haven't ordered my park ticket but I'm definitely going to do it soon. I think I might be able to get a DVC discount on it which will be nice. Ahhh I can't believe we're going to be there in almost two weeks!

:woohoo: for only 16 days!! and YAY! for seeing the monorail!

Love your new VB duffle--very cool that you got it for half off!!!:cool1: I've been looking into getting a VB hipster for our vacation. I've heard such great things about them! Cute mug!:)

Gotta love the monorail. :thumbsup2

Thanks! It was really nice getting that discount.

Sarah- I'm so jealous!!!! 16 days!!!! Lucky You! :goodvibes BTW love the bags!!

Only 15 days now. Woot!

Is that a VB Hipster?! I just ordered one the other day when they had that awesome sale! :thumbsup2

Do you love it?

Almost down to 2 weeks!! So crazy that it's coming so fast!

Love the Vera bags, I'm also a Vera junkie! I have to keep reminding myself that I don't need to buy another bag everytime we go to WDW! :rotfl:

Love the new bags.
You have seen what they did to the mono-rails, right?
I will be in Milwaukee Thursday. Have to take DH to airport.
Then I have to get my car, (VW Jetta's breaks checked),
I may end up at Bay Shore Mall if it takes a few hours.
Are you still student teaching?

Love your VB bags. Too bad they don't sell them here in Canada. Maybe I'll get my sister to pick one up on her grand tour of the states. Can't believe how close your trip is getting! I like the idea of your monorail tradition. I think they've plastered them with ads for a new movie or something though :confused3

It sure is a VB hipster! I do love it. It's a good size for what I carry around and like I said, the crossbody style is nice. :thumbsup2

i'm gonna do the 15 days dance!!! woohoo!!

:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::yay::yay::dance3: :dance3: party:

Me too, I'm about to post a new picture!

I know! I can't wait!!!!

hahaha, that sounds like me. :rolleyes1 I have way too many as it is.

I like the "guess the monorail colour" tradition! Wow, two weeks and one day. :yay::yay:

Thanks! It's always just a fun little game. I never win though.

I did see something about a Tron monorail...I didn't realize it was more than one though!

Oh good old Bayshore. That place drives me nuts sometimes and let me tell you I am going to be SO sick of that place by the middle of next week...:rolleyes1

Do you mean subbing? Yeah, unfortunately I'm still doing that. I could've stayed at the same school I was at for the rest of the year but let's just say it didn't work out that way (won't go into the details) even though I was pretty much offered the job shortly after winter break. That sounds kind of bad, so let me just say I didn't do anything wrong. LOL. I do have another (short) long-term job though.

You should totally get a VB...just be warned that they are addicting! ;)

I hope they didn't ruin all of them. :sad2:

15 days, 15 days! :yay:

Can't believe tomorrow it'll be exactly TWO WEEKS!

Time for another countdown picture...

15 days until Toy Story Mania!

n20305212_33510345_9157.jpg

Ever since we first rode this (if you read my May '08 TR we were lucky enough to get to ride during soft openings...which meant super short wait times!!) it's been one of my favorites. I love how it's so interactive and it's one of those rides you can ride over and over again and not get sick of it. The only bad thing about it? Losing! LOL.

Since we're getting super close now, how about some more plans.

Downtown Disney Must-Dos

:) Eat at T-Rex Cafe...we keep saying we're going to eat here but never get around to it. I know it hasn't been open that long but it's definitely a place I want to go.

:) Check out the West Side...would you believe me if I said I've never been over there? Well, it's true. :rolleyes1 There's also going to be a new store that's opening called D-Street that I want to visit if it's open. So far all I've seen is Spring '10.

And stores to visit:
:) World of Disney...no need to explain this one!

:) Art of Disney...it's always fun to see what kinds of art they have there.

:) Disney Pin Traders...best place to buy pins!

:) Goofy's Candy Company...I want to get another one of those Goofy Glacier slushies. Mmmmm.

:) Team Mickey

I doubt we'll be at DTD more than once but I'd also like to eat at Earl of Sandwich. We ate there in August and man, that place was good! I'm also still kind of curious about that Characters in Flight balloon...

What are your favorite things to do at Downtown Disney?

Speaking of monorails, Weird is beyond thrilled that they have the Tron monorails! Hehe, he's such a geek, but I love him for it.

Love your bags! I really like your park one. I typically don't care much for VB because some of those prints are like, "BAM, HEY, I'm a VB PRINT!" Haha, but I really like yours because it's calmer and the color choice is pretty.

The T-Rex Cafe looks like it'd be fun ... if I weren't petrified of creatures! That room with the gigantic squid thing is the one that scares me the most. That's probably not surprising though considering I seem to be scared of all animals! BUT the one thing that makes me want to go there is the fact that I keep seeing people's food pics with those waffle fries!!!

I really really really want that glacier too!!!

I'm excited to check out Tren-D! I also want to check out the little store next to Earl of Sandwich that has the kitchen stuff. I really want Mickey egg/pancake rings.

I am getting so excited for you. YAY for 15 days left. The boys adore TSM. Cooper has still yet to shoot his gun. He just watches everything that's going on at the moment. Maybe this year...

Cute VB bags. I haven't jumped on the VB wagon...yet.;)

Cute bags Sarah! I have a cardholder in the pattern of the smaller bag. Love it! I'm going back and forth on a new backpack. With Mother's Day and my birthday coming up...I'm very hopeful that my family is taking my hints. :lmao: Just a little more than two weeks and you'll be there! :cool1:

:yay:Toy Story Mania...so much fun!! Can't wait to ride it again! We were hoping to eat at T-Rex this trip, but unfortunately couldn't fit it in.:sad2:We'll probably go in and look around though...Noah loves dinosaurs!;) Our favorites at DTD would definitely be World of Disney and Goofy's Candy Company!!:)

15 days!!! So exciting!!

TWO WEEKS! :hyper:

TSM is definitely my favourite attraction at DHS.... that and 10 million other Disney-goers.

I haven't been to DTD lately but I will be attending a concert at the House of Blues in April. I believe that's on the West Side? Another place in DTD, like yourself, that I'm not familiar with. My fav stores to visit are World of Disney (of course) and Basin, to smell all the pretty soaps. EoS is my favourite eatery. WPE might be the next candidate to take that title. I plan on giving that place a try next visit. Another mention should go to Tren-D, where I found a very nice Bambi shirt and bought it immediately. That store is full of neat trinkets but with a hefty pricetag. It's good if you're looking for something different and unique.
