wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

27 days! Less than 4 weeks now!

I have a couple Disney-related stories to share from school. I just started a new long-term assignment this week so as I was getting to know some of the kids I was asking them to tell me something about themselves. Well, this one girl immediately tells me she loves Disney. This is my kind of kid! LOL. Then she started asking me about it and if I liked Expedition Everest and some other stuff. She was also wearing one of those leather bracelets that you can get in the parks (you know, the braided ones and then you can get your name on them and add different charms) and started telling me about that. It would've been fun to keep talking Disney but we had to get some work done. ;)

Then I was working with another boy on his writing and he wrote about his trip to Disney World. He didn't have a whole lot written (the extent of his journal entry was "I went to Disney World with my mom and dad and then we came home. :scared1:) so I was trying to get him to think more about his trip, asking him where he went, his favorite memory from his trip, etc. He could barely remember anything and then he told me it wasn't all that fun. WHAT?!?!?!?! :sad2::sad2: Kind of depressing. Still kind of funny.

Also, as I mentioned my sisters and I went to the Danny Gokey concert this weekend. This was our 3rd time seeing him in concert. LOL! Since somebody asked (tinkgurl!!! ;)) I thought I'd share a few pictures. It was a really good show...only cost $12 and we got the CD, which was kind of our "ticket." I have to say I am really impressed with his CD...definitely worth it!

And a video. I think this is one of my favorite songs from his album. :thumbsup2

And lastly, some kind of cool news. My one sister has been talking a lot about doing the College Program next spring. I don't know if she'll for sure do it but wouldn't that be awesome?! That would mean I would have to take some more trips to Disney World...hehe We'll see what happens. :)

That would be fantastic! I mean, you'd need to visit her several times, wouldn't you? ;)

I'll just be honest and show my age, but who is Danny Gokey???

YAY on 27 days! Things are getting close now.

The concert seems like it was fun. How cool that it was only $12. I love having those Disney conversations with students. I like hearing about their perspective on things.

Your plans for DHS look great!

Of course I would! We'll see what happens. I think she is going to the presentation they are having at one of the local schools tonight.

haha, sorry, I should have mentioned that. Danny Gokey was a contestant on American Idol last season...he finished 3rd. My sisters and I loved him because he's a local guy, from Milwaukee! So the show was like another homecoming concert. It was funny, there were people waiting so early that when we were going to the basketball game other people would ask what they were waiting for. When they said Danny Gokey some of them had no clue either.

They sure are. :woohoo:

Yeah, it was nice that it was so cheap. And to get the CD...not bad!

It is a lot of fun talking about Disney with the kids. I've heard so many kids lately talking about how they went to WDW or are going to WDW soon.

Oh! That explains why I didn't know. I am an AI drop out since about 3-4 years ago!

In case I'm not on here tomorrow...

Happy Birthday! :bday:party::cake:

Looks like the concert was fun! I've heard of him, but had never seen or heard him sing. We only watch some of American Idol. (before Hollywood usually) DH can't stand it, so DD & I have to sneak it in when we can!

How awesome for your sister! I hope she does the College Program! That would be good for you, too! :goodvibes

Well, honestly this season you aren't missing much. There's only a couple people I like. I miss last season. :sad2:

Aww, thank you. :goodvibes

Yeah, she did end up going to the presentation tonight even though she wouldn't apply until the fall for Spring 2011. I told her about the College Board on here and am trying to get her to register. If she does do the CP I will have to take a trip every month to go visit. hehehe

Woo hoo, it's Friday!

I just realized something too...it's the day of 25s!

Today I turn 25 years old (I don't know how that happened :scared1:) and

Today we are 25 days away from Disney World. :dance3:

I don't know how I didn't notice that before.

Anyways, as I mentioned several times before I bought that Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World book. I read through it once and then went back to reread it so I could highlight things I want to look for. I finally finished my second read the other day so I thought I'd share a few of the "secrets" I found interesting/things I'm going to look out for when we're there:

Magic Kingdom
:magnify: Walt and Roy Disney's windows
:magnify: Lady and the Tramp at Tony's
:magnify: The "chess pieces" on the top of the Haunted Mansion...apparently one of the Imagineers involved in the HM loved chess so he included some details that looked like chess pieces on the roof
:magnify: Mr. Toad in the HM pet graveyard
:magnify: a hidden Stitch in the mural at Buzz Lightyear
:magnify: The sword-shaped bricks near the Carousel
:magnify: The spider/tarantula at the Jungle Cruise...I don't really know what this is all about but it said to ask a CM about it. I want to know what they say! LOL.

Epcot
:magnify: The Dream Maker (or dream machine, whatever it is called...I'm drawing a blank) at Mouse Gear. It's from the original Journey Into Imagination
:magnify: The trolls hidden throughout Norway...the book said they might only be out during the Flower and Garden Festival, but obviously we'll be there during the festival. Hopefully we'll be able to find some of them!
:magnify: The water bowl in China. It's in one of the shops in China and it says you can make it whistle like a wine glass. Might need a CM to help with that but it sounds very interesting.

Hollywood Studios
:magnify: The sign in Tower of Terror...it says some of the letters have fallen away and create a spooky message. Oooohhhhhhh...
:magnify: A Nemo hidden in a mural in Toy Story Mania
:magnify: The Singing in the Rain umbrella
:magnify: The key under the mat at Muppet Vision

Animal Kingdom
:magnify: Some of the quiet pathways around the Tree of Life. There is one that has a wall with holes drilled into it and they focus on certain carvings on the tree. That's kind of cool!
:magnify: The Cretaceous Trail

OK, wow, that is a pathetic list. I know there is more that I highlighted but it's time for school. I'll add the rest later and share some AK plans!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday!!!!! Are you doing anything to celebrate?

Twenty-five days until Disney? Wow.

Santa brought me the Hidden Magic of WDW book and I'm slowly making my way through it. I decided last night I was going to go back to the beginning and start highlighting the same kind of notes you're taking. :thumbsup2 I also got the Mousejunkies book which I haven't been able to stop reading.... love the humour in it and the author has wonderfully put into words my Disney obsession. :rotfl:

Happy Birthday!!:dance3: and YAY for 25 days!!!:yay:

Welcome to the 25 club. You're now closer to 30 than you are 20. You're officially "mid-20s" not "early-to-mid 20s" and perhaps even "mid-to-late-20s". :scared1:

*sigh* When did we get so old?

Happy belated birthday!

Love the list of Hidden Magic. I think my brother has read that book, but I haven't yet. Sounds like a good read though. I've never heard of the sword-shaped bricks, the water bowl or the Nemo at Toy Story Mania.

I would like to know when we got so old too. Especially since I just found out one of my roomies from college is having a baby...that makes me feel REALLY old. :scared1: Crazy!
