Hi all! I am new to the board and was wondering, what there is to do with a 10 month old. I have been to disney so many times, but never with my own baby and never with a baby this little. The last time I was there was in 12/2001 and the youngest child with our family was 1.5 years old. So, I am not sure what we can go on and do and see... I know we can do most of the shows with our son as he loves singing and stuff like that, but what about rides? are there any he can go on with us? We do not care about the thrill rides, if we want we will do those alone, but we want to know what he can and cannot do before hand. Thanks so much! Kristen
trip to Disney countdown 2 weeks!

There are a lot of rides he can go on as he can just sit in your lap. He will love its a small world. I think a lot will depend on what type of child he is. If he doesnt scare easy there are many things you can do. My DD loved Pirates of the Carribean when she was that age. I think that age might be easier than a 1.5 year old as they cant walk yet so they are happy in stollers.

Both of my kids have been when they were each around 6 months old. We took them on any ride that did not have a height restriction and they could sit on someone's lap. My DS liked Pirates and Haunted Mansion better as an infant than he does now at 4!!! Tiki birds was also a big hit. Anything with lots of movement and color will usually pique an infant's interest.

What they each did really well with, and it really surprised me, was the fireworks. I thought perhaps the noise would bother, but the things to look at must have outweighed the noise, because they were each mesmerized (although people of all ages usually are!!!)

And lest we forget the best thing about the under 1 set. . .they will nap in a stroller whenever they are tired! So there do not have to be planned nap/rest times in the day.

Have fun!!

We took DGD at 10 months. SHe loved POC and IASW anything with music...the down fall is if there are LONG lines you are holding a baby for 1-1.5 hours without your stroller because strollers can't be in the lines so be prepared to tire more quickly and do less...this year we are doing MNSSHP so that she can enjoy all the rides with less wait time..our plans this time ...see how it works...good luck!!!

We took our DD4 at 6 months & 1 year and the trips were quite different but both very fun. At 6 months, she loved all the characters and was super easy to deal with. At 1 year she was scared of all the characters and was more of a handful, if you know what I mean. That having been said, there were tons of rides and of course shows that she enjoyed. We seemed to have the best luck at MK & MGM. Even Epcot worked out for us to see everything we wanted as well, just not as much for little ones.

On a different note, all the parks have awesome baby centers which make for a great air conditioned break for all!! Best wishes!

How about a First Haircut at the Barber shop on MK mainstreet? They cut the hair and will save it for you with a certificate and first haircut Mickey ears with lots of stickers and pixie dust. Character greeting with Pooh and characters from the Hundred Acre Woods. As pp any music show. Liberty Square Riverboat was quiet and peaceful for a baby.

We have taken all three of ours when they were right around 12-18 months. I think it would be easier to take them before they realize they can walk...unless you have an early walker like one of mine was.

They are fine and there is lots to do. Twice I was pregnant when we went with a young one or two and we could ride all of the same rides, see the shows and even take naps together.

It is challenging to find apple juice at the carts around the world...easy at restaurants though. We have used a car service before to get the grocery stop to get formula, diapers, cheerios, fruit, milk, juice etc to have in the room and always make sure we have a fridge. Some of the items might not be cheaper than what you have to pay at home, but it sure saves on suitcase space. This year we will use one of the grocery delivery services to get those items to have in the room. We like having breakfast like fruit or cheerios to give the kids something while we get ready in the morning...and there are Disney cartoons on around the clock!!

Its nice when they are younger because your baby will probably nap in the stroller. My two that were 12 and 14 months always napped well in the stroller. The 18 month old only fell asleep once in her stroller cause she didnt want to miss anything!

You will have a ball! The pictures are worth it all....whether they are smiling or crying :)
