It is now closing in on 3pm and so far DH has snorkeled w/ me and gone down 2 slides w/ us. All day long he has been escorting MIL to the smoking area. We finish up in the shark reef. We are supposed to be heading back to our chairs to re-sunscreen and drop off MIL. DH has been promising DS all day he'd do the wave pool. Well, about 15 steps into walking MIL needs a break. I can see it now-- it's gonna take until park closing to get her back to our chairs. She makes a pathetic attempt at telling DH to go ahead w/o her. She'll make her way back "in time". She's feeling weak from all the sun. It was a whole 75 degree's and she'd been in the shade almost all day.
I could feel my blood pressure going up!! DH turns to me and tells DS and I to go ahead he'll catch up w/ us in the wave pool. I am soooo MAD. I wanted to scream-- I wanted to shout. I mumbled something under my breath--in earshot of MIL and stomped off. There was no doubt to anyone watching that I was fuming. DS and I decide to make our way back via the lazy river. We only stay on for 2 exits and get off. We grab our refill mug get soda and head out to the wave pool. We catch 8 waves--- No DH yet. Finally I tell DS it's time to get out-- I'm beginning to get waterlogged.
I am really upset. All I can think about is all the promises made to me. I'm really trying to not be selfish, but I want some of DH's attention. I don't want to hear one more word from MIL's shrill voice and I'm starting to just want to go home. Which is a first for me at Disney!! We make our way back to the chair and I can see MIL off in the distance at the smoking area. DH isn't w/ her though. I see him making his way back to the chairs. He really doesn't want to get wet anymore. MIL is ready to go back to the hotel for a nap. So, once DS and I are ready-- they're ready to leave. He ends by telling me "no rush though". Well, you can bet I didn't rush DS and I went for ice cream. Sat and ate it. Then walked around and looked through the gift shop. Now mind you, I was pretty much ready to go, but now I was gonna play her game. She REALLY wanted to go-- well I was gonna take my good ol' time.
I think DS and I milked another 45 minutes before we actually packed up. The ride back to the hotel was really, really quiet. Nobody was talking. Things were just getting too tense.
Once at the hotel I decide shower and DS plays w/ some Lego's he bought. DH I think is trying to make things up to me. He asks if there's ANYTHING I want to do. Would feeding MIL to the largest Gator I can find count????
Anyhow, I've really been wanting to try Ohanna's and decided to try and call for a last minute PS. They were able to fit us in at 8pm-- so we had awhile to get ready. The catch was he wasn't inviting his mother (in truth she had already told him she was going to bed for the night). Dinner here was great. We watched Wishes from the lounge area. This was one of the highlights from the whole trip. I have always wanted to stay at the Poly-- however, it's pretty much out of my price range. I WILL stay here for at least a few nights next trip. I just loved the whole place. The entire dinner was relaxing. The 3 of us where having a lot of fun. This is how vacation usually is and should be!!
I didn't want this night to end-- as it was one of the most magical moments of the trip. We also shopped again at DTD this night. I have 1 neice ( no nephews). I tend to spoil her quite a bit, and I was on a quest to find her the perfect souvineers. Which turned into quite a feat. As she was just there w/ us in October and she had a lot of the stuff there already. At least that was age appropriate (She's almost 2).
Once we were back at the hotel I was asleep in 5 minutes. I call it Disney Sleep. I fall asleep fast and hard. Usually I sleep soundly throught the whole night too. Something I don't do at home too often.
