WDW veteran going to DL for honeymoon

I would splurge and do the WOC dessert party. It is so nice to have a seat and to be able to sit and snack and have a drink while you are waiting for the show. I don't know if either of you are height challenged like me, but it is very nice not to have to worry about posturing for a spot where a tall person does not stand in front of you and block your view entirely.

We’re going Oct 2018 and we’re staying at the DL hotel.
In late July 2018 the Halloween Party tickets will go on sale.
If you're interested in a MHP night, buy the tickets when they go on sale.
Many nights SOLD OUT faster than expected this year.
There has been some discussion as to which park will host MHP's in 2018. On MHP nights the park will close early (6pm or 7pm) to general public.

Depending on your dates, crowds are going to be noticeable.
This link will give you an idea of events/times drawing a larger than normal amount of people.

There aren't a lot of great TS restaurants like there are at WDW. But the Blue Bayou is definitely something you want to book - think San Angel but on the Pirates of the Caribbean. Very romantic for honeymooners. In fact, you may want to do a F! Dining package there so that you can get a good seat at F!. Otherwise, you'll have terrible views from the standing-only areas. The show is better than WDW, but the seating is on concrete and hard to see in some areas, so get a dining package.

I went to DL for the first time in September after having gone to WDW many times (AP) and loved it! You'll have a great time!

I went with my boyfriend and we ate at lots of good places, including Napa Rose and Carthay Circle (we did lunch and got the VIP section for World of Color that night). We loved both but my boyfriend actually preferred Carthay Circle. Both places are really cool and more romantic than lots of other restaurants, so I would recommend either of them. Blue Bayou looked cool too, but we didn't make it there this past trip.

DH and I love having a cocktail at Carthay Lounge (no reservation needed, but there may be a short wait). Very cool atmosphere and good (strong) drinks! I also second Blue Bayou for dining. The ambiance is amazing (food not as good as the atmosphere though).
