I have always wondered why is it that the WDW vacation planning DVD's, always mention Disney MGM Studios just as the Disney Studios & leave the words MGM out?

I have always wondered why is it that the WDW vacation planning DVD's, always mention Disney MGM Studios just as the Disney Studios & leave the words MGM out?

I asked DH about this and he said he thought it was something about oversears rights to the name "MGM" that they couldn't use that name internationally and the DVD goes all over. But I have no idea if that is the case or not.

I was reading in my Passporter that the contract Disney has with MGM is expiring and there might be a name change in the works. This was the 2006 edition. Anyone have the 2007 Passporter that could confirm this?

I heard that they only have the rights to the MGM while inside the park. Since the DVD isn't inside the park, they cannot use the name in advertising. Not sure if it's true. Always lots of rumours when it comes to Disney!
