Tuesday 12th August

Leanne was up all night crying in pain with the ear ache :(
We had an ADR breakfast at Ohanas & decided to go & see how she felt after.

O'hanas was good - not the usual buffett, but all you can eat skillets

1st they bought over a fruit basket & cinnamon & raison bread & a lovelt tropical juice these were gorgeous & i'd have been happy with just that!!
Then we had a huge skillet that they were happy to keep re-filling & mini micky waffles :)

it was a bit noisy & crowded but you gotta expect that at a character meal i think!

me & my hero :)

Leanne was still no better & i knew she was genuine when she didnt eat much of her breakfast! We met mum & dad but had to leave them as
We decided we would have to get DD to a Dr, we'd never had to do this on holiday before!
We went back to POP & they gave me a leaflet for centra care - it said they pick you up & bring you back at no extra cost
I gave them a call & we headed out front to wait, the man working out front was very kind & gave DD 2 pop antenna toppers :)
The car came very quickly, we arrived at the center & the less than friendly secretary asked me for my passport i told her we wernt told to bring it & she rolled her eyes & pushed lots of forms infront of me!!
I sat down & wrote the essay! & handed them back in where i was told i needed to pay $226 to see the DR
DH handed over the credit card & we waited ..

we were called through into another area DH had to wait in the waiting room, as only 1 adult was allowed with DD, it was like walking onto the set of ER!!
dont get me wrong no blood & shouting & running about but the Dr's all wore the green outfits & were pretty easy on the eye ;)

we were taken into a small room to wait for the Dr, DD was crying by now - bless her - the bed was a polar bear!! which had a very strange expression on its face & i cracked lots of jokes about it that had DD crying & laughing at the same time!! I just wish i had a pic of that thing!!

The Dr came & looked in her good ear & ended up pulling out a HUGE chunk of ear wax!! & that was her good ear!!
he looked in her bad ear & said she had a double ear infection & that it would need to be syringed & he would get the nurse.....
we sat for ages & ages & ages waiting in this little room till in the end i wandered out to find out what was taking so long, that must of worked as the nurse appeared a few mins later

boy did she syringe - it took ages to clear DD's ear!!
Dr eventually came back & gave us a prescription for antibiotic ear drops & antibiotic tablets.
I was directed through a door into a pharmacy...NOW i thought the secretary had told me the $226 included medication...ah foolish me!!
they took my order & said $213 please!! :scared1:
So i had to go back to DH - who hates parting with money - & tell him the good news!!
the look of shock on his face was priceless or should i say pennyless!!!
we waited for the car to take us back vowing never to moan about the NHS again!

another girl was in the car & she got dropped off at a place where the cast memebers all live - i thought it was a resort!! interesting to see though!

2 hrs after setting off we were back in POP, DD had her very expensive medication & went to sleep.
We then headed over to Trails end buffett at Fort wilderness (ADR) DD said she wanted to go.
This was a lovely meal & such a different setting! very outdoorsy :)
We wanted to see the movie under the stars but couldnt find it!!

We got the boat back to MK, but DD was tired by now so mum & dad stayed at MK & we went home to bed.

Hope you are claiming back on the old holinsurance. I hate it when the kids get ill, you feel so bad for them:sad1: I am really enjoying your trip so far, thanks for sharing:thumbsup2

Hope you are claiming back on the old holinsurance.

Trying - the paper work is horendous & i've been trying to call them with some queries they seem to be either shut or i cant get through - then i noticed on their web site it says you have to claim in 30 days (doesnt say anything on the forms!) & i've gone past that now - so who knows!! :confused3

you poor things what with your accident on crush and gusher and now your poor dd. Hope things get better for you.

Oh I am so sorry that happened to you! I am telling you, those type of places here in the U.S. are notorious for ripping off their patients. You could have gone to a real ER and not paid that much. Shame on Pop for recommending them, you should call them and tell them your experience. Really shameful.

I am glad you had a nice dinner at least!

Oh dear,so sorry to hear about your Dd,but glad she got it sorted although expensive.I also hope you get somewhere with the insurance.
Great pics at o'hanas :thumbsup2 .x.

Your poor DD :( Both DH and I visited Centra Care back in May and have claimed our fees inc medication back from our travel insurance, so only had to pay the excess of the policy which was £35 each.

Claire ;)

Did you get the forms sent to you by informing them of a likely claim? If so, then I would of thought the 30 day should be the start of the claim ie sending out the paperwork. Also add in the claim form the problems gettting hold of them for queries hence the delay.

Claire ;)

We love the O'Hanas brekkie too :thumbsup2

Sorry your DD was poorly, I hope she made a speedy recovery :)

Sorry to hear about your medical problems.

Next time, if you want to see the movie, you need to take the bus from the restaurant area to the outpost and cross the river behind it. The movie is a fun activity.

oh dear oh dear. :sad2: how awful, earache is horrible. it cetainly was an expensive do

Hi Claire - they didnt send out the forms, i rang them when we returned & they told me to print the forms off their website! That was one of my queries - the form asks for a claims ref number & i havnt got one!
