Thursday August 7th

Had breakfast at pop today - toast & yogurt, Gary took our mugs back to the room before we went to catch the bus to MGM's. He came back frowning saying they're were workmen in the room doing something to the headboards!! The beds were pulled right out & he had to climb over them to get into the rooom!!! I dont agree with them doing that when the room is occupied!!! Still everything seemed in place when we got back later!

We were later than i wanted getting to MGM's & it was very busy
we did manage TOT twice, R&RC, & the great movie ride, wanted to try the new Toy Story Mania ride but the lines were ridiculously long :(
We headed back to POP for a dip in the pool.

Headed back to MGM's for a 4.50pm ADR for Mama Melrose & the Fantasmic Dinner Package - had heard mixed things about this but we had done Brown Derby - too expensive food & too posh! & Hollywood & Vine - the only bad buffett i've had in WDW!!! so it was my last resort with the dinner packages!!!

We found the resturant tucked away in a little corner, & it was sooooo pretty there were fairy lights stringed up in the ceiling, i just thought the place had a lovely atmosphere!
Our serving was Younice (i think from Morroco) & was suprised Younice was a man! He was very nice
for starters me,mum & dad had the tomato & mozzerella it looked nice but lacked some flavour

Gary had the artisan breads - it was huge!! but he wasnt keen on the dips with it or the HUGE piece of garlic!! (you can see it at the front, to the right of the square dish)

DD had soup for starter & cheese flatbread for main,
for our maincourse we had steak the polenta was a bit sickly, but the steak was lovely.
For dessert i had cheesecake again this was not outstanding but ok, DD was wearing her badge & got a lovely birthday dessert

All in all we enjoyed it here & i would go back again

Random thought:
I found it wierd that nowhere in WDW did they do baked potatos!!!

We went to get our reserved seats for Fantasmic & were glad we did as the place was packed! Mum & Dad had never seen this show, & mum cried :)
The best one liner of the night came from mum when the lake was on fire she said ''oohh you could roast your marshmellows on that!'' :lmao:

tomorrow - La Cellier, MK EMH's & dads given a dream ;)

Not a fan of Hollywood and Vine either but we did enjoy Mama Melroses.

I plan on doing this package next year, this year we did Hollywood and Vine and it was just OK. Glad to hear that Mama Melrose is better.

I nearly fell off my chair laughing at the marshmellow comment that is something my Dad would say:)

I am from Notts orginally....

I agree with your opinions on Brown Derby and H&V! I'll have to try Mama Melrose one of these days. I just wish Sci Fi and Prime Time were part of the package thing too.

''oohh you could roast your marshmellows on that!'' :lmao: Okay, that one made me laugh so hard I cried!:rotfl:

Wow Tracey another really special photo of you and Gary. I quiet liked Brown Derby but was a bit pricey so we tried Mama Melrose the next time. When we went in 2006 it seemed a bit restrictive but your meal sounded perfect so may try it again some time.

What a wonderful day for you all, but especially your mum.

Susan

Sounds very nice may have to try this package when we go in February.

I laughed when I read your comment about your server (although I think Iread it wrong)
Younice was a man! He was very nice for starters:rotfl:
