I've ridden both the Disney World Tower of Terror and the Disneyland Tower of Terror. My favorite is in WDW. Disneyland is nicely put together. It has two levels in the "basement" for faster loading. My big disappointment is going forward in the elevator car doesnt' happen in Disneyland. It seemed much shorter too.

I agree. There just isn't much to the one in DL. Just up and down. It was a disappointment after WDWs.

I agree, I like WDW's better. The exterior is better too (the atmosphere while walking through the line - the mist in the bushes, the music, etc.). Too bad Disneyland's doesn't go forward, but once the bouncing starts, it's pretty much the same ride. I guess they built it in a hurry & didn't want to bother with details. :confused3

An interesting thing I heard (and I have never been to do DL, so I have no proof) is that very often the park where the ride originated is usually the superior experience (POC, HM - Disneyland; TofT, Splash - WDW). Any thoughts?

First let me say that I prefer the DCA version of the Tower of Terror. Unfortunately they didn't have the room to develop an extensive queue line like in WDW.

True, there's no 5th dimension room at DCA, but the guest ghost effect is out of this world.

I've heard (and this is strictly rumor) from a CM that the random drop sequence would be in place at DCA sometime during the summer of 2006.

I don't enjoy the queue in DL as much because...it doesn't surround you, if you know what I mean? In WDW the greenery, the overgrown garden just makes you feel almost lost. It's a great queue. I also don't like how in DL the boiler room is so colorful. It almost feels relatively cheery and cheesy.

The MGM Tower is best because it is original. That's it. But I do believe the one being built in Tokyo might surpass it. That is one HUGE tower.

I think there is some truth to this. The originals tend to be the better version. POC at Disneyland is definitely the better version. TOT at WDW is also better. There are some exceptions, though. Splash at WDW is better than the DL version, even though i think the DL version is the original.

My DH and I prefer the MGM TOT it has a much better queue area and the fact that the car "breaks free" from the shaft is pretty cool. That being said, I have to agree that the "Guest Dimension" at DCA is awesome. Also for those who are planning to go to DCA, make sure you get the "upper car", it makes for a better :scared1: experience.

Cheers!
