WDW to Pot Canaveral and back to WDW

BillTry googling "mco to port canaveral transportation" - there are several shuttle services based at MCO that run to both WDW and the port - they may not go direct WDW to the port but you may be able to go WDW - MCO - port and back for a lot less

Several of the limo companies also run shuttles - and their shuttles are less expensive than Disneys.
HOWEVER - for just two people - I'd just do the Disney transfers. There is a nice orientation video that plays on your way to the port - featuring Mickey, of course, that will get you excited and help orient you a little to what happens on the ship. And the charter style buses they use are very comfortable.
When you get over four people, a towncar starts to make sense from a cost standpoint.
Towncar companies also will run limos - not cost effective for two - but a nice way to get to and from the port.
The one big advantage to a towncar or limo is that you do your scheduling - so if you want a morning at Disney with a late pickup, to get to the port at 3:15 (everyone needs to be on board at 3:45 and don't try cutting it close), you can do so. If you want to be at the port when the terminal opens at 10:30, and be on the ship as soon as possible (most likely a little after noon) that's possible.

We have used the Disney shuttle and a limo service both ways before, and prefer getting to the Port on our own and then back to WDW via shuttle. Here's why:
We like to board the ship as early as possible. The Disney shuttle got us there later than we'd like.
We prefer the early dinner seating, so that means the early breakfast on the date of disembarking. Taking the shuttle was so smooth. We did the whole luggage/customs thing and then they guided us to a motorcoach and off we went. We didn't have to wait for our limo or anything like that. It allowed for us to return to WDW faster.
This summer we're renting a car, heading to VB for a few days and then leaving the car at Port Canaveral and taking the shuttle back to WDW.... We'll see how the car rental thing goes.

We used FL Tours for this very scenario. We went from OKW to Port Canaveral and then to BCV. On the way to port our driver was courteous, friendly, and helpful. On the way from port to BCV, he was very rude. It was our fault, but he still could've handled the situation better. You select your pick up time. The line to get off the ship was super long. We hadnt expected that. We did our best, but we were late off the ship. We called the driver twice to keep him informed of our progress and the second time he said 'you have 5 minutes, then I'm leaving.' We made it and he was silent the whole time, even when we apologized profusely. Despite this, we would use them again based on price and the good experience with the first driver.

You make a very good point about getting to the port early. I read that you can't board the ship before 1pm. Is that correct or just Disney Cruise Line website info?

I forget exactly when we got to the ship on our Disney cruise, but we were definitely some of the first folks in the terminal (so excited to get going!). We were probably on the ship by 10 or so I think - kids had their swimsuits on under their clothes, so they got right into the pool for some fun time while we had snacks by the pool.
We rented from Dollar or Budget, I forget which, so DH dropped me and the kids off by 9 with our luggage and returned the car.
If it were me, I agree to do private transfer to the port to get there early!

We've done it both ways. When we were newbie cruisers, we loved getting to the port early and waiting to board.
Last trip we did transfers via Disney for the first time. It gave us more time to relax at Kidani and we got to the port in time to have lunch and also were able to hit the pools. It was 1:30ish when we finished lunch.
I've priced it out on previous trips. If there are only 2 people, it is more cost effective to take Disney transfers. (per person)

Later than that - the terminal doesn't even open until 10:30. And they need a FEW hours to do the public area clean up from the departing herd....Its usually a little before noon - sometimes as early as 11, but if you show up at 10, its likely to be at least an hour before you get on.
Our last cruise was in 2010. I think I've heard that there are stronger rules now then there were back then, but I'm not sure. I don't think I've read anything "official" from the cruiseline about boarding time for our June cruise yet.
It was a while back, but I think it was Happy Limo.
We have used both DCL transfers and private transportation depending on how many folks we have in our traveling party. If it is just the 3 of us, we usually use DCL transportation. Many times my DB and DSIL are with us so we use private. I LOVE a company called Spaceport Transport (Transportation) and they are wonderful. We have never encountered a rude employee and they are extremely reliable and timely!
