WDW To Orlando Intl- What Time Should I Leave

6 p.m. flight on a Thursday-
need to return my Dollar car rental (picking up car in Ft Lauderdale and hope car return in terminal)

Would like to maximize our stay & do AK before we have to leave.
I was thinking if we leave AK by 3:15-3:30 p.m. that we s/be OK.

There's a lot to consider. The drive from AKL to MCO is only about 15 minutes. Though bad weather, traffic, and problems with drop off can add about an hour to your trip. Find out how early your airline would like you there and add a half hour to that and you should be fine.

You seem OK but don't cut it any closer. Drive is actually about 25 minutes and you must return car, check in, go through security, and then to tram to terminals. Orlando has been atrocious for its security lines at many times and that itself can take 40 minutes.

Take 417 to the airport, which should minimze the traffic and (if all goes well) get you there by 4. Then you have an hour to get through security and another hour before your flight time.
