WDW "Tip for the Day" Channel gone?

I saw this posted on another board. People are reporting that the Walt Disney World TV Channel (Channel 18 I think) which had the overview of the parks and resorts and the "Zip-pa-de-do-da Tip for the day" has been removed.

Has anyone been to WDW recently confirm this?

I hope this is not true, I love watching this channel!!!

Yes, it's gone. We were searching for out everyday of our trip Oct. 15-20 and instead they have this woman doing the top 7 attractions or something. Tip for today is still on in Spanish though.

NO! We had this on constantly when we were in the room. It really kept us aware of where we were... I can't believe it's gone!

We actually watched this new program on ch. 18, the Top 7 Things to Do at WDW, once all the way through. It was nice for my brother since he was a Disney newbie, and it pointed out the highlights. However, by the end of the program we were convinced the show host was an alien. She was pretty cute, but no one can be that perky for soooooo long. We also found it funny that this was the only programming for the channel. Another time, we sat through the very end of the program, hoping to find something else after it ended. No luck there.

We were there Oct 14-23 and it wasn't on. That was one of the first things I'd do when we entered the room for the first time. Turned the TV on this time and no Zip pe de do da tip! We really missed it!

/we also loved it! It always reminds me of getting ready to do EArly entry. Maybe we should do a write in campain. Save COP and Tip for the Day!

The Zippa-Dee-Doo-Dah channel is my nephews favorite! I know when I was there last November/December, they had changed some stuff, but I thought it was odd that it had nothing on MGM and it was still promoting the Institute. I'm glad I taped that channel when I was there.

Will call one of the resorts and see if I can find out what is happening with this channel.

Turning on the Tip For Today channel is one of the first things I do when I get to WDW! Maybe its just gone temporarily while they update it?

Do they not know what it means to us?

I copied the Tip for Today program on my laptop last March. The loop is about 24 minutes long before it starts to repeat. I've burned it to disk so I can watch it on my dvd player and big tv.

The tip program is a great one to watch as we get ready for each trip.

I'll miss it but I'll also admit it was getting pretty lame. I swear when we were there last August the tips were along the lines of "...have lunch when you get hungry...". I'd like to see them updated.

Perhaps its for the best though. My family wanted to kill me, I had it on the TV 24/7.

I'll miss those silly little folded origami like castles and mickey ears.
