We may be getting a package with flight/hotel/dining, but adding the 4 day base that we want is over $500, I notice at CAA they are $341us=about $440cad, does anyone have experience purchasing tix at CAA, or know where the best deal to get 4 day base tix are for Canadians? Also, when they say they are $340 usd, do you have to pay in usd or do they convert in store?

That's the route i used last year .. got the same hard, credit card like ticket you get everywhere and they sold them to me in CDN funds at whatever the current exchange rate was that day. Was it easy? Yes, would i do it that way again? Probably not! It seemed to me that it ended up being more $$. AS to where else? Not sure cause this time around i was able to get them thru Airmiles.

Hi
I have purchased tickets from CAA.
I usually just pick up single day tickets. As I accumulate Petro Canada points I transfer them into CAA dollars. You pay Canadian Dollars at the current USD rate.

When I am purchasing more than single day tickets I usually price them out at Undercover Tourist.
Good service, remember to shoot a picture of the back of your ticket and keep on file should you ever lose the tickets.

Look at signing up with mousesaver.com --sometimes they have a link to UT (undercover tourist) and there is a bit of a discount.

I usually get my tickets thru Undercover Tourist. But I get 8-10 day tickets usually.

Right now Disney 4day base tickets are $346 on the Disney website, and $344 at UT (US$, tax incl), so if that CAA price includes tax, it's cheaper. But if that'the s without tax, you'd save a bit with UT.

Its tax in..thx

There is another site that a lot of folks are promoting, Parksavers. Everything I have seen is that they are legit. I have not used them before, I have UT and CAA. CAA you get the tickets right when you pay, just know the exchange rate going in, the best rate that UT has and compare.

I would love to know more about this. I have a wack of Petro points that I don't know what do with. What is the exchange like? Do you have to be a CAA member? Can you get any type of park ticket that CAA sells. This would be a great 2nd avenue.

Link to info on Petro Points and CAA
1,000 petro points = $1.00
You do have to be a CAA member
hope this helps
I was told the points become CAA dollars and are good for any purchase you would normally buy at CAA--movie tickets ,,Park passes, luggage ,,maps,,vacation bookings etc.
I have personally used mine to get Movie passes and Disney tickets.

That's a good conversion rate for Petro. Thanks

I have bought through CAA in the past a few times. It's definitely a calculation thing though... Sometimes we go UT, sometimes CAA, and sometimes airmiles. One of our previous trips in 2015 when I did the calculation factoring in exchange and the extra % the credit card charges that our cards charge it actually made it marginally cheaper to buy through CAA --- a bonus to that was that I had the tickets in hand quickly (plus I like the hard tickets --- rather than just e-tickets.)

My advice is to make sure you know:

1/ Do a spreadsheet to track how much tickets are from each source.
2/ Ask what the exchange rate charged by CAA in the conversion (you can usually call and ask.)
3/ The exchange rate charged by your credit card (for us it was higher than the rate charged by CAA ---
but check with your credit card company...)
4/ The % that your credit card charges for processing a foreign currency transaction. (This can add 1 to 3% depending on your card.)
5/ Also ask if the CAA will sell you the ticket in USD. If so it may be cheaper to go to a local currency
exchange and buy your USD there then purchase in cash in US funds.

Generally this is something we check through every time we buy tickets. The other thing you might want to do is see if anyone you know has Airmiles that are expiring and see if they're willing to buy the tickets from airmiles and sell the tickets to you -- it would likely be a win-win for both of you.

Have you look on Flight Centre's website? They usually sell Disney tickets and they are in CDN funds included all taxes i believe.
