WDW through an 8-month-old’s eyes &10m &13m &16m...New 10/30!

Yea!! For getting all your ADR's!!

We have a lot of the same Restaurants in our plans!

In fact you will be at Raglan Road the day before I will be!

Yeah for introductions to Disney Characters!!

Unfortunately I have heard you can only make reservations for the days you are on-site... Maybe you will get lucky and the system will let you go farther though!!

Idk how it would have worked online but luckily the cm I had didn't notice the date was way after leaving BLT and it let him do it. So that was sweet.

The reservation I used to book my ADRs has us checking out on 10/7 and they let us make an ADR for 10/8. We have a different confirmation number for that night. I don't think it'll be an issue.

Good luck!!

Yay you were right, again! Lol.

I'm glad you got everything you wanted! Disney really needs to fix the online ADR site. It's terrible!!!

Look at you and your early breakfasts. No way I'd even function that early on vacation, let alone be ready to eat breakfast LOL. Kudos to you ;)

No kidding, I've never had a problem before with the online site, that was ridiculous. Last time I was on the DxDP though. Maybe that made a difference in the system.

Woot awesome! That day is sort of up in the air, but tentatively a DTD relax day and pool day. But I figure we could go to a park and wing it if DTD doesn't sound appealing. This night, with Artist Point, is the night I'm considering for the babysitter, just bc Artist Point is IMO the most quiet of all the restaurants we'll be going to. We will see.

Thanks for sticking by even though I've been pretty awful keeping up with other PTRs lately hehee

What a pain that booking your ADRs online didn't work out! But glad to see you got what you wanted! I love so many places on your list.

YES! Game of Thrones is awesome-tastic! I've read the books and was obsessed with them; the show is everything I hoped for when I heard that it was being made.

Wow, you have a lot of reservations! You weren't kidding when you said you like to eat.

I also think that you are really brave to take an 8 month old to Cali grill at 7:30 at night. I know my ds would be ready for bed around then, and have no patience for a long fancy meal. You do have a girl though, so you might be in the clear, they are so much calmer than boys.

ADR UPDATE!!! :cool1:

First, I was in a MOOD this morning. Got up at 5:30, had DH feed Aria with a bottle while I pumped (I can pump in 10 minutes, she would feed for 30...LOL). Ran upstairs to the office and got all set up...only to have the online ADR system not accept my reservation. Grrrr. Of course, had no ressies to make my first day (10/4) so had to give up until I could call at 7AM. Of course, we also woke up Aria to feed her with a bottle. So basically, on the one day I get to sleep in AND she stays asleep, I got up early. GRRR. (FYI DH gets up at 4:30AM during the week and without fail Aria wakes up then...)

ANywayyyy after that, called at 7AM (in the car, on the way to Cape Cod for Easter). Got everything!! Here's a list of our ADR's and then soon I will start my day by day itinerary at some point soon...I go back to work May 1st so no promises before then - I have a lot more free time then LOL

Ugh, Disney's online ADR system -- heck, their entire website -- is a MESS! I'm glad you were able to get the ADRs you wanted, though.

I think you've got a nice variety there, but the ones that really caught my eye are Chefs de France, Coral Reef and Ohana. I haven't eaten at any of those, but they're on my list for sure!

And if you're anything like me, now that you have ADRs you can spend the time up to your trip modifying them. I keep checking to see what might have opened up or comparing menus to see what looks better than the ADRs I have. What can I say? I'm indecisive!

YES! Game of Thrones is awesome-tastic! I've read the books and was obsessed with them; the show is everything I hoped for when I heard that it was being made.

I have to read the books! So funny bc usually I always read a series and then ghetto see it come on tv or a movie but sounds like I have been slacking with the reading lately since I keep missing the series. I have the first book on hold from my library, so looking forward to it being in. (on cd - once I go back to work I will have an hour drive each way to listen to books again!)

Wow, you have a lot of reservations! You weren't kidding when you said you like to eat.

Brave or stupid? I've been considering Kids Nite Out for this evening as well, except that it's my birthday night and I think I will want her there? Idk. Guess we will decide as it gets closer...

Thanks for all your comments on the restaurants! I loved the wave when we went, don't really remember it being dark lol. Biergarten I'm also worried about the seating thing, we've only done Teppan Edo which we enjoyed. Ppl next to us weren't interested in chatting and we still had a great time. I figure that well be more interested in dancing with Aria and such it won't matter who's around us...that's what I envision anyway :)

1900 park fare is another new one to us We are doing it before the mnsshp. I've heard the character interaction is fantastic, not overly excited about the food but whatever. I hate buffets. Lol you'd never know with some of my dining choices, since dh loves them.

And speaking of buffets, dh likes Cape May. Its his #1must do. He loves seafood, and enjoyed the crab legs and whatever else they had. I ate cheese pizza from the kids side...so I'm not all that excited, though I remember having excellent service and some fun drinks lol. Oh yeah, he also enjoyed the ribs.

Another 2012 trip? Yes please! I think I might be able to squeeze out another trip this year! I don't even have the APs yet but am planning for once they are MINE! Lol.

I'm thinking 2nd weekend in December. Christmas is my absolutely favorite time of year, and I just love Disney at Christmas. I'd probably just go for 3 nights. I want to push for a trip in December for many reasons:

1. If we only use our APs one other trip, I'd rather it be in December than any other time during the year (May would be my 2nd choice)

2. I am only working 3 days per week until the end of 2012, so I wont have to take time off of work to go in December.

Other reasons to go in general:

We have Southwest credit for another flight free

We have 1 night free in a moderate resort to be used anytime (from a positive email correspondence following our 2007 Honeymoon, We were offered a free moderate night stay)

Id really really like to stay at the VWL however lol.

Question is, will dh go with me? If not, idk if I could do a trip just Aria and me? She might be walking by then. I'd like to do DME and save on a rental car.

And do I use the 1 night free at a mod? Or do VWL? Renting DVC points will make it only about $150 more to stay at VWL. plus, if I stay at VWL NOW, then we will still have the one night at a mod for a possible May stay...hehehe.

Anyway this is all just a thought, but I did mention it to dh yesterday after another "lovely" trip to Cape Cod for Easter. He didn't seem too opposed to it...:rotfl:

I'm jealous! I wish I could go to Disney twice in 2 months! I'd love to go there during the holiday season. I think for my next trip I definitely want to go in Dec!

Joining your PTR! Aria is a beautiful girl and so lucky to be going to WDW already! :thumbsup2

I'm planning my son's first trip for October - he will be 14.5 months. I'm just now starting to figure out ADR's and such, and still haven't chosen a resort although I'm leaning towards POFQ.

How awesome if you get to go in December, too! Would you need to go ahead and book/pay for VWL now? That would be my only hesitation - since the DVC resorts fill up so quickly and renting requires upfront payment (or am I wrong here?), I would personally not want to lock in a trip that I couldn't cancel if needed (if baby was sick or if just anything came up in general). Or would your rented VWL points be able to be carried over to a May trip if needed? I would be the type to see how October's trip goes and then gauge how easy it would be to go with just mommy and baby based on that experience, cancelling if you felt it wouldn't work. But that's just my opinion! :goodvibes

Kudos on the nursing! :cheer2: We're still going strong at 8 months! And by the way, October 5th is my birthday, too!! But I'll be 31.

No kidding about their website! As a Disney fan, I am pretty embarrassed with their system!

Of the three you mention, I've only eaten at coral reef and it was back in 2004 I think. I think Aria will like the fish tank, as her room is themed for under the sea. Lol I've already been trying to fit in more ressies! But if I have another trip to plan, at least I could just hold off on them until then. I love looking at the menus too, that's def my top way to pick out a restaurant, which can be bad if the particular menu item isn't available when we go!

I'm jealous! I wish I could go to Disney twice in 2 months! I'd love to go there during the holiday season. I think for my next trip I definitely want to go in Dec!

Yeah I would definitely consider myself spoiled if it happens. So far I've been going every three years, going this year brings that up to every 2 years. If I go again in December, idk how that will affect the next trip lol. I don't want to Disney-out dh. But I do love December. Dh likes October best, and since it works with my bday I didn't disagree, but I do like December best I think.

Aw thanks for joining in! And for the comments on Aria. You are very right, I SHOULD wait until after the October trip. Maybe make a couple ADRs but...if it turns out to just be Aria and me going, I'd be a lot happier at the VWL with the boat transportation vs at a mod with just bus transport. And yes I'd have to book it now...I already contacted the guy I rent from to ask if he can check availability. Heheh.

That's awesome how long you've been nursing! I Plan to make it to a year, after that we will see.

Another October 5th birthday! That's awesome - makes 3 of us on this ptr! Woo!w

Easter Update!

Aria had her first overnight away from home! We visited DH's parents on Cape Cod over the weekend (just one night). DH helped his dad with a new bathroom project - deemed Aria's Bathroom since it is off the room in the basement we usually stay in and they are putting in a tub just for her! :goodvibes First grandchild and all... hehehe

DMIL and I went out to lunch, interesting bc we NEVER go out just us, mainly bc I can't stand her. LOL. And also bc Aria was along. She was pretty good through most of it, but started getting really fussy towards the end. After lunch, DMIL treated Aria to a new Easter dress which you'll see. So that was nice of her. For me to spend an ENTIRE day with DMIL (D does NOT stand for DEAR LOL) is what brought on me telling DH I want to go to Disney for a long weekend...

Anyway, picture time! I have some pics of Aria of course, from before Easter in a newborn (ie way too small) onesie for My First Easter, and then at the Cape in her Easter dress.

She is 10 weeks old, FYI.

Update to my December trip, I had the guy I rent points from check on VWL. No go. All booked up, as is BCV (2nd choice) and BWV. Darn. BLT and AKV are available, but I will have stayed at both of those already. So it looks like a moderate. I'm even considering the Art of Animation resort...but I've never considered a value resort before so we'll see. Maybe this is for the best, and I can decide after the October trip.

OMGosh! The pictures of her in the bunny ears are too cute! And I love the one of her holding the egg. She's adorable!!

At least if you stay at AoA it's a brand new resort & you'll get to experience that. Although a Little Mermaid room might make my eyes bleed. I'm not a fan LOL

Aww, what a sweet first Easter she had! Those bunny ears are too cute.

Yeah, I think she will love seeing the fish at Coral Reef. DS would enjoy that, too, but I'm hesitant to book there because DH hates seafood. His loss! ;)

They have steak!

Aria is adorable. Having had 4 completely bald babies, I'm jealous of all her hair :)

I agree that AoA might be nice, since it will be brand new.

Awesome news on the 2nd trip! We might be down then too, but I haven't decided yet.

I totally think that you could take Aria on your own, I'm going to take DS solo in Oct, so if I can do it, you can too!

The one thing you might want to think about is jumping on those point from BLT. The reason why I say this, is because juggling a stroller and a baby on a bus will be very difficult. It will be near impossible to hold her and fold the stroller, and tough to get both of them on the bus solo. I guess you could maybe put her in a back carrier, then you'd be hands free, and it could work, but yikes, that seems like a lot of work! not to mention that you'd have at least one bag with you for diapers and such.

If you stay at BLT you could monorail to both MK and Epcot, and you could get to HS by walking out the international gateway and taking the boat (can you tell I've put some thought into this :) ).

Thanks :) lol too true on the AoA rooms. I think we will prob stay moderate...

Lol too funny about the hair! I'm still thinking about the resort options...too much to choose from!

You are very right abut BLT. But...we are staying there in october! And I like to switch it up and try out new resorts since theres so many we haven't stayed at! I think I can convince my dh to go with me too. But if he goes in December then prob won't go in may or whenever the next AP trip takes place. I have a Beco carrier that I really need to figure out (aria currently screamsssss everytime I put her in it! But loves the bjorn!). That could help too. By December she might be walking - making getting in/out of the stroller easier oppossibly (at least I would imagine so!) but yes the diaper bag, baby, stroller, might be a lot. But doable!

So the following weekend in december is currently available at VWL! But it's like $550 to rent the points for 3 nights. Vs about $300 for paying for 2 nights at a moderate. I need to talk to dh about it but I think that'll be a hard sell...hmm unless I put some of my Christmas money towards it...:rolleyes1 hehehe

Which Beco do you have - the Gemini or Butterfly? I have the Butterfly and my DS will spend HOURS in it without making a peep. We do the front carry facing inward but will be trying a back carry soon. It's the only way I can get any shopping done! It never hurts my back or shoulders, unlike a Bjorn-like carrier I had at first. Sorry to hear Aria doesn't like it - maybe when she gets used to it she will? My son only lasts about 5 minutes in the stroller before commencing meltdown mode. :sad2: This worries me for our WDW trip in October, but I'm hoping by then he will tolerate a stroller more.

Its the butterfly 2. Idk what I'm doing wrong lol. She seems way too long for the newborn insert and I just can't get it right with or without the thing. Her legs get all scrunched up bc she doesn't like to have them spread - lets just say she would much rather stand than sit and th beco seems like it wants her legs all scrunched...idk. I've looked at YouTube videos and still am having issues.

She does like her stroller though! Lol. And she really likes the bjorn it seems, but she'll be too heavy for it by october.

Hmmm...I started using mine when my DS was about 3.5 months old, but I never used the infant insert (then again, he was over 10 lb when he was born :) ), so I don't have experience with that. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about her legs being scrunched in it. If you want, you could post a few pictures of her in it and I would be happy to try and see if I can suggest some things. Or you could try the forums at thebabywearer.com - those ladies know their stuff. My BB2 has been such a lifesaver for me, so I want to encourage you to keep trying! I think it could come in handy for you at WDW; she will be a good age for hanging out in it then. Glad to hear she likes her stroller! We're working on becoming friendlier with ours. :thumbsup2
