So was looking at planning a trip the week of Oct 13-20th. EVERY deluxe and moderate resort is sold out. Most of the properties near disney are sold out. What is going on then? Should we avoid and plan a trip at a different time? Some of the guides say October is a good month to go, other guides say October is among the busiest months to go. help please! I haven't been to WDW in 30+ years.

I just found AoA, Bay Lake Towers and a villa at GF for our family of 5. There are rooms just the prices are pretty high.

Fall is fast becoming one of the busiest time at WDW with Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and the parties at MK. Try moving your reservation around a couple of days or try shorter stays at 2 hotels... Maybe only one day in your date range is making it impossible to find availability.

Thanks for the replies. I can find an offsite property. What I really was asking, is should we avoid WDW altogether that week if there is so little availability with onsite and offsite properties

ok, maybe should ask it this way. Between mid-october, winter break, spring break, and summer..... when would be the best time to go? Those are the only times I can get both kids on a trip

Huge Gartner IT conference Oct 14-18

Deluxe resorts on these dates have been sold out for several months now. I booked those dates over 4 months ago in April and even then there were VERY few rooms left. It's a combination of Fall being busy and it's also the humungous Gartner IT conference that books up a TON of Deluxe rooms.

It’s always crowded. Outside of a few small windows, it’s very difficult to ‘chase’ low crowd times. I say book a time that works for you, do you research, make your plans, and go have fun. :-)

But yes - “I can’t find any availability in October” posts have been abundant for several years now. Busy time of year.

As a PP mentioned, Gartner is impacting your specific dates.

If you're going on a busy time, I think it's more important to stay on property to take advantage of early booking windows.

Had the same issue here. DVC is completely sold out, TA only had rates for two resorts and there weren’t great. Between that and anticipated crowd sizes we decided to just go Vero Beach Resort instead.

If you have a good plan and some FP, you can make it work. I have never gone in October, but the weather and longer park hours are appealing. What type of accommodations have you checked for off site?

I must be violating guidelines. The website will not post. You will have to Google this. I am sorry about that!
If the website is started out, it's because they have violated the terms of the disboards. Be careful about posting ways to get around the rules.

Thank you. I am so sorry! That has never happened before when I have used this company's url. I guess it must be something recent? I won't share their info on here again.

We're mid to late Oct. F&W folks and we book our Board Walk DVC ressie for next year a few weeks after returning from the current one. In order to get a BW room during F&W we have to book 11 months out and once, 3 years ago, at 11 months the standard view studios were gone so we stepped up to a pool/garden view. Naturally, we got hooked on that so that's our choice now.
