For me it would be Pirates but any of the fantasyland rides would be considered sacred ground for me.

It's easier to name the ones that I wouldn't be upset about:

Astro orbitor
Autopia
Winnie the Pooh
Start Tours....but now that they are updating I'll wait to check out the new one before putting this on the list
Jumping Jellyfish
maybe Roger Rabbit

I wouldn't be sad if they closed the entire toontown! That's a huge waste of valuable realestate! I say move Mickey and Minnies house to where PFF is and convert Toontown into 1 or 2 big e-tcket dark rides! :thumbsup2

Pirates, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan, Teacups (classic!)

I'm so glad I got to ride Snow's ride in September. I'm really going to miss it!

PETER PAN! actually I think all of Fantisy land! Splash, Space, and Pirates. I think those would be the ones I missed the most.

Obviously I would hate for any of the 'big' rides (Pirates, HM, Small World) to close down. I would hate for the Storyland Canal Boats to go away. It is as low-tech and low key as you can get but that is probably why it works so well. It would also depend on the reason for it closing. At WDW SWSA is closing but they are adding a mine car ride that seems like it will be an improvement over the old ride. The new ride also seems to fit into the new Fantasyland forrest section while a princess meet and greet (which was originally going to go into the forrest) is going into the castle courtyard section which also seems to fit theme-wise. Overall the plan seems to be an improvement, so if a ride goes away for something like this it is much better than if it just goes away and isn't really replaced by anything (I'm looking at you 20000 leagues).

We have had that same conversation in our house! :thumbsup2

I just read the WDW thread & am amazed at the number of folks who are OK with Snow White shutting down. (But nice to see half of them are really upset). I think the one's posting over there who are upset should consider visiting Walt's park sometime....they'd geek out on the classics at DL. & I also agree 100% with your post over there Mike.

IMO, lots of rides at DL are "classic", but i agree with you that the fantasyland dark rides are absolutely sacred gound. I bet half of the WDW posters would give their eye teeth to have Alice, Toady, Pinocchio & now add SW to that list.

Toss in our lovely IASW, the unique Storybookland & Casey's & i realize how lucky we are that they've let things be at DL.

These little dark rides aren't the most popular & are rarely anyone's "favorite" ride.....but they're an important component of what makes Walt's park special. Heck....I sometimes just like standing in FL for a few minutes in the afternoon & watch the families with little ones jumping from ride to ride, starting their own traditions.

I sure hope my kid has a chance to take HIS kid to ride Toady, Alice, Pinocchio AND Snowy in 2030. :thumbsup2

I would not mind seeing Innovations close, talk about a waste of space. Captain EO can go too AFAIAC. I love Toontown, but it doesn't need to be that big.

Agreed!

HM, POTC, JC, and Matterhorn.....but I think it is safe to say that would never happen. Right?!

You have to remember that MK has already lost classic rides (Toad and 20,000 leagues) and they were replaced by one that is meh (Pooh, which I actually like but not close to as much as the MK version of Toad) and a lame playground.

At least this time around there is going to be an amazing expansion going on at the same time. I think most people would prefer to keep SWSA, but I also think most are looking at what is happening to Fantasyland in total and are having a hard time getting too upset when so many positive things will be happening (essentially the addition of two new lands).

I agree, and the one and only ride I hated at either DCA or DL was the Maliboomer and so I am glad they have removed it :thumbsup2

I rode astro orbiter for the first time a few weeks ago and I liked it, but it really is just a giant version of Dumbo, and I don't see the need for it other than there really is no other type of ride that can fill that space. It doubles as decoration so I guess that's a plus too.

The deal breakers for me would be Haunted Mansion, POTC, and Buzz Lightyear. I feel that Autotopia and Innvoventions are wasted space, but IMHO Innventions is the worst of these two rides, and no great loss to either of them, as they could put in a much better ride there.

I wouldn't be too heartbroken if Pinoccio went away. I would be sad, but I'ld get over it.

My DD3 loves the Fantasyland dark rides all of them. We'd be so sad if Snow White closed at DL. We love watching out for the witch peaking out the window while waiting to ride Peter Pan. It makes the wait so much more fun for her. Snow White is a classic, even if the storyline in the ride just kinda ends and is a bit weird. I hope they don't close any at DL. But they could close Innovations that's for sure, and that's about it :) We love autopia, DD loves that she can drive and has the best time on it. I like to go for the ride, push her gas peddle and look at all the old park things along the track. So fun.

I'm ok with it because I look at it this way.

SWSA is not for little kids, it's scary, it's for big kids 6-10yo. Now the 6-10yo and older are getting a better attraction that's more worthy for thier likes.

But what bothers me very much is what happens to the SWSA space. They are shutting down a part of Fantasyland that is filled with classic rides in exchange for a M&G. They are exporting a FL ride.

But this is basic DL Vs MK. DL revamped thier Fantasyland in the 80's and MK just let thiers remain until they replaced what was there and left the old circus tent themeing on the facades. This happened until just months ago when they fixed up the pooh attraction that is housed there. Keep in mind that's only one of their FL attractions that is superbly themed on the outside.
