I though I read somewhere here that you can use your refillable mugs at the resort (where you buy them) AND at the parks. Is this true? Or can you only refill them at the resort where they are purchased?

Thanks Y'All

This is incorrect, you can only refill them at the resort purchased at.

But you can refill them at any resort & reuse them for years to come!!! :rotfl:

Just kidding.

Actually I have a question....
When we were at the parks last week, we spotted a couple of CS places selling what resembled a refillable mug. It wasn't labelled with a resort, it just said "Walt Disney World" and had some characters on it. Same price as a general refillable mug. Pecos Bill's was one of the places we spotted it at. So are they doing something new in the parks now?

Lol, actually isn't there a rumor to this truth?

Yes. I believe so. You may reuse your mugs as long as it is while pool hopping. I think that's the official rule.

For any new people on the boards. Refillable mugs are only good for the trip you bought them and at that resort. You are not supposed to bring them back year after year. There should be a sign close to where you purchase the mug that states the mug is good only for this trip at this resort. Lots of the mugs even have it written on the mug. It's an ethical guest thing.

They sell lots of souvenier mugs at the parks at the counter service areas and at the popcorn booths. Not refillable, though. Just a nice souvenier. They have done this for years.

The water parks also sell a refillable mug good only that day. But you can purchase a sticker on future trips to get refills all that day.

AK also has a mug with a large animal topper on it that is refillable for that day only and you must show your receipt of purchase when you go get refills.

Enjoy your stay.

Well I'm not new and I already knew about how refillable mugs work...I had just never seen the other mugs before, especially being so prominantly displayed as it was, which is why I asked.

Er - I didn't think pool hopping was allowed either? :confused3

For the OP... you can buy mugs at BB or TL, and use them at either park if you buy the sticker with the correct barcode on. I think that's the only interchangable mug available!

hiyall, I'm afraid some of our members are being slightly naughty in giving you false information.

You can only use your resort mug at your resort or your resort pool. You cannot use it at the parks or water parks.

You cannot pool hop (visit a pool at another resort) UNLESS it is a 'sister' resort (for example, All Star resorts or Port Orleans Riverside & French Quarter).

Refillable mugs are also refillable at sister resorts. In fact, the Port Orleans mugs just say Port Orleans, they don't say Frenc Quarter or Riverside, and the All-Star mugs only say Disney's All-Star Resort on them.

I think what causes come confusion is that a lot of people use their mugs in the morning before going to the parks, and then carry them around the parks all day instead of taking them back to the room. Thus, you see mugs hanging from Guests' belts or backpacks in the parks.

You can certainly buy a drink anywhere and put it in the mug, but the mug is not refillable for free anywhere but the resort where it was purchased.

Actually you can pool hop during off peak seasons if you are a DVC member as well! As for those mugs you see at the parks being sold those, unfortunately, aren't refillable at this time except with water from the water fountains but they do have that test phase at AK as previously mentioned at this time. Hope this clears up some confusion. pirate:

The other thing that people may be seeing in the parks is this....some folks will take their resort mug with them, after breakfast, to the park. Then, after lunch, if they have soda left in their glass, they will transfer it to their mug and sip on it while walking through the parks. So, while you can't refill the mug in a park, you can pour soda from your glass into the mug.
