Yo, Management Mousketeers,

According the the media and reading between the lines of recent communication from DVC, its sounds like WDW won't be reopening until January 2021.

The above cited DVC email alluded to some sort of credit being applied to our 2021 contract year. I hope that means extra points rather than merely an adjustment to banking and borrowing rules.

The DVC is the fastest way to jump-start park attendance. We are the most loyal and most eager to come back. I suggest adding 2/3 of the number of points in our contracts (equal to the 8 months of unusable time in current contracts (8 divided by 12) that could not be banked and requiring that they be used within 6 months of the 2021 calendar year.

But, even before the opening of the theme parks, I suggest certain resorts (with water [lake] access) be re-opened and recreation packages be offered such as multi-day fishing adventures, and maybe water parks, safari rides, backstage tours, etc.

Come on. Let's get this show back on the road!

The January 2021 reopening date is the musing of a single stock analyst who provided their opinion on why they believed it appropriate to downgrade Disney stock this week. For some reason, multiple outlets picked this up and appeared to be running with it as fact, which it is not. It’s simply an opinion from an analyst who likely knows far less about Disney’s inner workings than anyone on this board ;).

Start taking bookings in June, not open. The Titanic has stopped moving. Its going to take quite awhile to get it going again. If June were opening plans, cast members would already be being scheduled. They aren't. They are furloughed indefinitely.

I hope you are right. Thanks for the reply. Stay safe and we'll see you at Disney!

Cast members have 2 weeks of schedule, not 8 and I read the posts, the DVC email had to do with point expiration not the ability to make a booking.

I "dislike" your post.

You are engaged in very negative speculation. I know you are hoping for better news as well but the fact is no one knows. Anyone can say the parks will be closed until January.

Cautious optimism leads me to believe the resorts and parks will open in a few months -- June / July. I say that because I assume Disney wants to stop the bleeding of red ink and get back in business. And I say that because by then this epidemic will be subsiding and there will have been time to put in place new procedures to keep 'distance' at the parks and lower risk of transmission. There is no reason the parks need to be closed until January.

As for your comment on the DVC email, the 'credit' mentioned is to our fees, on account of less operating expenses

I think the information today was an indication that they really anticipate opening sooner rather than later.

i am predicting by June to see DVC resorts, with limited and phased opening of the parks, even if it includes only Florida residents.
