Wow...things could've been SO much worse! Thanks for the link mom2of2!

What happened with the red monorail? The photographer refers to it quite often, that it caused damage or something. Just wondering.

Wow! From looking at the pictures, WDW took very minor damage compared to other areas. I've seen worse debris lately here from thunderstorms!

Either they were very lucky or have very fast clean up crews! :)

Glad to see everything looking okay :)

From what I can tell it looks like the inside rail of the monorail is missing? I know that the express to Epcot is not running at all.

Clean up crews were called in at 2am to get the clean up started so I think they had a lot done by 9am.

I'm really curious about what happened to the red monorail too. It sounded like the guy was in the red one but had to get off because it was being taken from the track??

Thanks for posting these!!

Thanks for the link! Those pictures made me appreciate even more how *beautiful* WDW is normally kept. Things like branches down and storm mess in the parking lots would look normal most places, but seem so out of place compared to what we're used to at WDW!

Very interesting, thanks, and so very much agree with Crystal's thoughts.

It doesnt look like it was storm damage to red more than just red throwing a hissy fit and breaking (never did like monorail red much) because if it was storm damage they wouldve had it moved by then (they start rail power up 2 hours before park open and the MK station is vital for bringing rails on.... ie even if they couldnt bring it off yet due to full barn they'd tow it to GF and then bring the rails to MK for their checks then back them through 'temp to get to TTC)

and if it was beam damage red would still fuction and they wouldnt have to tow it

once a Monorail pilot always a Monorail pilot
Very intersting pictures though!

That explains why 3 of the 4 parks were open this morning....GREAT JOB everyone!::yes::
