WDW Photography Contest?

Ok, I have a question. Would anyone be interested in a WDW photography contest here at the DIS? There is another Disney Website that has one, but I don't really like that board, and would rather stay here at the DIS. I thought it would be a fun, everyone can join kind of thing. Any takers?

Did you ask the Webmasters if something like this is allowed? I think you need to find out if it is possible from the webmasters and moderator before starting one.

I was trying to find out if anyone would even be interested before I went to the webmasters. I didn't want to waste my time or theirs if no one was interested. Does that make any sense?

On the other board, where I have seen this done it isn't really about the quality of the photos. It's about the voters favorite. Let's pretend the topic was Valentine's day, most of the time the one who would win would be the one who best expressed the topic not the (technically) best picture. At least that's what I would expect.

Other than that Kelly I have seen your pictures and would definately expect you to win a few!!

Sounds like something we use to do at arstechnica, We would have monthly topics and people would post pics based on that topic

That's basically what I was talking about. One week it would be Mickey, the next Magic Kingdom, then Resorts, then a holiday like Valentine's Day (just something that represents LOVE in the parks), etc... I just thought it would be something fun that everyone regardless of their photographic skills could get involved in.

Can we make it just photography in general? Considering I won't be going back for another year or two, I can't go there and hunt for pics Either way is good, though.

I don't have very many pictures saved on my computer, or loaded on the 'net', but I would try to participate when I could.

I would really enjoy seeing the pictures though! It will give me ideas for shots during our next trip.

You need to have the web address of the photo in your HP account. Then you click on the icon in the editor - square,with mountains. Then you paste the link from your photo.

I believe I have read that some of the online photo sites can't be linked, I am not sure about HP. I use Photobucket, or you can upload them into the DISboard photo gallery as well....

I think it would be a great idea. I know I look through others shared photos just for some ideas for pictures on our trips. Many people are creative in the picture choice, others are creative in there framing, and others have great ideas in Photoshop. I like to try and take all of that into consideration when I am taking my photographs on our trips.
