Wdw photogragrapher at MK gates taking photo behind fake picture frame? Help!

I'm sorry for the appalling thread title that I will try to explain!

I'm asking this question for a good friend who is back at WDW in a couple of weeks. She has pre-purchased the Memory Maker photo deal.

However, she said that on her last visit to MK she remembers there being a Disney photographer just inside the gates who was taking family portraits using an empty picture frame which the family gathered behind, to create a fake portrait type effect.

She asked me if this picture was included in Memory Maker. Unfortunately, I've never seen nor heard of this particular photo being taken so I couldn't answer. (I'm usually rushing through the gates to get to the attractions to stop & see what's going on!)

So I wondered if anyone else here could help? I don't know if this is a standard thing Disney do, if it was a one off, or if my friend might have just had too much Florida sun! If WDW do this regularly, is it included in Memory Maker?

I have tried googling for the answer but have completely drawn a blank. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We did this in EPCOT last June. Is this what you mean? I've not seen it in MK.EPCOT frame 3.jpg

Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure as I say, I've never seen or heard of it before, I'm seeing my friend shortly so will ask her if this is what she meant. It was their first time at WDW so understandable that she might have got confused!

Was this picture included in memory maker or was it an extra cost?

The frame is a photography prop that sometimes comes out. We had it at Epcot in the Summer last year. It was there some days, and other days there were photographers there without the props. I thought at the time it was Epcot specific, but it looks like they move them around. My guess is it would be hard to try anticipate if, when and where to find this.

Thank you, that's great. Explains why I don't recall ever seeing it! Do you remember if the prop photo was included in the memory maker package?

Any pictures taken by photo pass photographers are included with a memory maker purchase. I know we did the picture frame in hs, so they probably have the frames at all parks. Have them ask a photo pass photographer for locations.

Yes, it was definitely included in the MM account. Is my picture showing up now? I can see it...

We've had this photo at DHS and EPCOT...both were in MM.

We had it two years ago in MK, with a photographer in the hub area. It's hit or miss, nothing you can plan for.

Why would anyone want a picture like that?
Looks to me like it ruins a nice picture
I did and I love ours. When its done well and cropped out nicely the picture is by no means ruined. It is a cute and quirky picture. But it's quite hard to get it positioned in such a way that the picture works great.

I did it at HS a few times with a blue frame. I figured it was something for show your Disney side.

It's a prop.
You can look at the Photopass Photographers and see if they have it - if they do it will be leaning up by their legs or hooked into their arm (at least that's what I saw in December 2014). I did it in AK but it's not a very good picture. I've decided I much prefer the picture without the frame.

Not many photographers have it so your friend would definitely need to look around.

We had some in DHS a couple of years ago and they are our favorite pics from that trip. I don't know why you think that would ruin a picture.

Yes, it is included. So are magic shots and the GIF photos and ride videos.
