Well, after a little more shopping on Main Street, we decided to go to Epcot, and really concentrate on the WS, since our daughter was not with us on this trip. Instead of taking the monorail and going to the front of the park, where we would have to stand in line for security checks, etc, we took the Beach Club bus, and walked to the International Gateway. We still had about 45 minutes until WS opened, so we watched the Alien Strength Ballet... it was really good! We then went to Mouse Gears and bought a few things. Once WS opened we headed there, starting off in the Mexican pavillion.
We didn't ride any of the rides or see the movies, but we did take our time exploring each pavillion and sampling some of the beverages. We shopped in the Chinese pavillion, and I tried the Chinese wine, and DH had the Chinese beer, which was somewhat bitter tasting to me. We then did a wine tasting in the German pavillion... I prefer the sweet dessert wines, and DH likes his a bit dryer. We were hoping to catch a performance of the Voices of Liberty, but they were not performing the days we were planning to be there. In Italy, DH a dry red wine, while I had a glass of the sweet sparkling variety...delicious!!! We ate at Tepanyaki Kiku for lunch, which was fantastic! It was really neat to watch the cooks, and the plum wine was terrific. DH had saki, but I can't say that I liked it. I will write more about the meal on the restaurant board. When you visit the Japanese pavillion, make sure to go into the gift shop below Matsuma and purchase some of the bath salts... the ones I got are in a green container with Japanese writing... I tried it that night, and it was marvelous! Anyway, I digress... we shopped in England and then headed back to the Beach Club to catch the bus back to the MK.
At the MK, we met King Triton...who also visits some of these boards and his family for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. His kids were so cute with the characters.. they got SO excited!!! The meal was pretty good, but I believe we were spoiled with our previous meals... but the company was wonderful!
After we ate, King Triton and his family stayed to watch the parade, but DH and I headed out. My feet were really bothering me. We did manage to see some of it as we were walking by, and I must say it was good... I was not a fan of the previous nighttime parade...especially the synthesizer music, but this one was pretty good. We will definintely have to plan on seeing it next time.
Back at the Contemporary, I found that the reason my foot hurt so bad, is that I had a blister on the bottom of the left. We had planned to go to Tambu Lounge for a nightcap, but both of us were pretty tired, so I took a bath with those wonderful bath salts, and DH took a nap. We watched the electrical Water Pageant from the bed..., it was really neat! We never did make it to Tambu Lounge that night!
