Hi Everyone,

We're thinking about wasting a bit of money on a vanity plate for our new car. I'd like to have a DVC or WDW reference. We're toying with all kinds of options, such as:

MORE DVC
GOIN WDW
OWN DVC 2
LOVE DVC
DVC GR 8
WDW BEST
DVC HOME
DSNY VAC
DVC N ME
TO WDW
DSNY PAL
DSNY GAL
DSNY N ME

I'm having trouble deciding (funny, I don't think naming our children was this hard!), and we thought that maybe you would have a favorite or even another suggestion.
We're limited to 7 letters/numbers. The order has to be letters then numbers (for example "4ME" won't work). We're also limited by what else is already out there, but I can check that pretty easily
Thanks for your feedback!
Sharon :)

I would think anything referencing DVC would have a pretty specific audience. It might depend if you want people to know what your plate is saying or trying to figure it out. The numbers at the end is fairly restrictive on how creative you can be.

Having said that, I assume WDW is a pretty known acronym, but that might be specific as well?

Everyone might get LUV WALT unless there is a guy named Walt that lives in your area :)

I like DVC HOME from your list. CKCruising makes a good point about whether or not your acronym would be recognized. We have a WDW license frame on one of our cars. :earsboy:

Someone in our neighbourhood has the licence plate WEDISNEY

I puzzled on it a bit, until DD noted that it's Walt's initials!

Although it doesn't seem to be on your list, how about incorporating the three letters of your home resort (BWV, OKW, etc.) somehow? Of course that makes it a very small population that will recognize what it stands for. I also like DVC Home.

Thanks folks! :)

I think I'm leaning towards the DVC reference. I think I prefer that it's only understood by some... that's today's thought at least. (I also like that it includes a nod to all of our favorite vacations...Disney cruises, Aulani, Vero beach...).

Then I think about how I still like the GOIN WDW too....

decisions, decisions! :confused3

I have Disney vanity plates "WDW MOM" to incorporate my love of Disney and being a mom. Disney fans get it. Others think I am a widowed mom. Even one of my co-workers asked when my husband passed.

Now my car is also covered with DVC stickers, monorail stickers and a castle antenna topper. So I am pretty obvious at least to those with a clue. If we got another car I would probably do VGF DVC.

Choosing from what you gave I like DVC Home. If I got to choose mine, I would do DVC SSR.

I may have to look into this myself.

Thanks.

I like the DVC HOME choice as well. Mine is O2BN WDW. We don't have the restriction about the numbers. I used to have LV DSNY when I lived in another state. I love showing my disney side!

Thanks for all of the feedback folks! I can't believe how hard this was for me.:rolleyes1

I think I have it... Unless I change my mind before tonight (I need the VIN info to button this up), I'm going to go with....

GO N DSNY

Imagine that being sung to the "Goin' Sizzler" jingle in the movie White Men Can't Jump That's my go to "song" as we're planning/heading out to the world. I wish that Disney could be spelled out better, but with the seven letter limitation, it's the closest I could get.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! See you at WDW! :)

I second an earlier suggestion (though it appears you may have already made your decision). We used DVC then the letters of our home resort. It's especially fun to drive up to VWL with that license plate. :thumbsup2

I've had in the past:
DVC OKW
DVC VWL
But now I've been DISNEY 4 for the past 3 years. More people figure that one out.

DH and I finally got our personalized plates, which are Disney related.

DH is DISN3Y
Mine is MLFCENT (Pretty obvious for Maleficent fans.) In Colorado we're only allowed 7 characters, and that includes dashes and spaces.

Anyway, we're hoping to buy into DVC this year, so I've been checking out this side of the Disboards! :wave2:

I would re-think your decision, DSNY = The City of New York Department of Sanitation.

I like your choice. My husband and I both have "Disney" vanity plates.
I have WDW BWV
He has AULANI

I did not know that! o_O

It's too late now (ordered last week), but I guess I won't plan to take my car into New York.

We're in IL so hopefully it won't be confused. I guess we'll see.
