WDW next week: I'm going and have questions and offers

Ok I don't know how many characters each person is allowed to create in the park....but I'm guessing only one. I will give my black mickey ears to the first one that asked since I have a pair. If you can create more than one, I will do several and so will my fiance for you guys. But somehow, I'm betting you can only make one per ticket/person. Anyone know? BobRichmond?

Also can the "born in park" badge be traded to my main character or to others?

~Mia~

P.S. I have loads of request already and I will try to get every one, but I don't know if I can (and remember, this is my first trip since I joined VMK so I want some stuff too!) so please no more requests....I will do what I can and I am keeping a list.

Thanks!

As long as the terminals are open, you can create a character just as you
would at home. If you feel you're monopolizing, you can come back another
time to create more characters.

The only part that requires ticket verification is the quest prize redemption.
The ticket scan verifies that you haven't gotten prizes (or haven't gotten
them in the past 90 days).

Unfortunately, the badges can't be transferred, as they do only apply to
"born in the park".

Do you need coupons for the pink Nemo chairs? If so, have a couple (one for you, one for me). Let me know :)

Yes, I don't have any of those yet so you can give me both (thanks!)

~Mia~

P.S. I think we are going tomorrow instead of next week!

Just an fyi, Someone already mentioned the pirate quest and I actually just went on the vmk tour late last week. We only had roughly 8 people on our tour for 12:30PM. The haunted mansion will definitely be closed for refurbishment for about one week or so, but talking to our tour guide who was phenonmenal I must add, the understand was that developers where there last saturday 11/05 reviewing the quests and wanting to add more. Also, The pirate quest was definitely suppose to start on 11/06/2005 and the vmk quest tour staff members have alreaedy received their scripts for this quest. You may actually have a choice between haunted mansion quest or pirate quest depending on when you go down. I would be happy to share any experiences I had with the vmk quest tour, feel free to ask way, by briarrose answered many questions already.

One thing I have not seen was make sure you also bring down the specific locations where you can purchase park items and receive vmk cards with reedemable one time codes. I may have overlooked that through this thread but did not see it immediately.

Don't go tomorrow! They are not having the tours. I called WDW info yesterday and they transfered me over to the MK Guest services. I spoke with Lydia there, and she told me there would be no tours on the 8th and 9th.
I don't have an AP, so I try to confirm everything before I make the trip over. I was planning on going today, but will be going later in the week now :)
You can call and confirm for yourself. The first operator won't have any VMK info, but will transfer your call to Guest Services at MK :)

Hey I am going tomorrow too!  :cool1:

Calling in sick and buying an anual pass!

I will wear my pegasus shirt.

I sent you an email through the Dis system, but could not attach the files that way. Would you mind PM me with your email address? I promise to keep all personal info private. If I do not hear from you, have a great trip!

Hi everyone! I'm back...I unfortunately got kinda sick at WDW and have been feeling yucky for the past few days. Beherenow, sorry I was not able to get the chairs for you....I got a message in my email about it but like you said, it did not work and I didn't see the other posts on here before I left. I meant to come to the boards in the a.m. but we overslept and just barely made it on time. However, the stupid monorail going into the Contemporary Resort before ours broke down and we were sitting on the rail not moving for about 20 minutes, which caused us to be late getting into the MK, and therefore missing the tour :( (they had a tour, but it was booked).

Still, we were able to get almost everything else VMK related (we didn't have a lot of extra cash to buy things for stuff, but we did buy the candy for the penny press..which looked purple on the card and I was excited, but it was really red, which I already had two of....so that was a bummer but it's okay. I had to endure this creepy "foam candy" for that  ).

We didn't buy a picture on Buzz Lightyear, but I asked the lady if I could have a card anyway and she handed me about 5, then said "here, have more" and gave me 3 more! I gave two to FlyingPegasus (we met up with her and her friend in Tomorrowland, which was cool. My first time meeting a VMK or DIS person in real life :)), and two to my fiance, so now I have four wanted posters.....yay! I put them all in my tent room (thanks to cteddiesgirl) for now.

We cheated on the quests  , the questions were hard and we didn't want to waste time actually figuring them out, since my fiance had not been to MK in over 10 years.

We also tried to create 2 "born in park" characters for ourselves and one for another DISer, but since we made the accounts before VMK opened, we couldn't actually "create" the character itself: so they didn't have the BIP badges or mickey ears :( I didn't know that would happen, or we would have waited until after 10 am.

Other stuff: besides the coolness of getting VMK stuff and meeting FlyingPegasus, the rest of the day kinda sucked. Everything wanted to break down on us (first thing we rode after the monorail incident was Stitch, and the show stopped a minute after we had sat down and the lights came on, so we had to come back later). We saved it for almost last and I'm glad, because I was so mad after going on it that I wanted to leave. I hate when Disney changes rides or shows that I love (I wanted to hurt someone when Journey into Imagination at EPCOT was changed) and the new Stitch is SO not as cool as Alien Encounter was :( I felt like screaming at the people in the gift shop after ("Why did they change it!!!!!????? It was so awesome before and now it's terrible!!!!!")

Plus, there was this really weird vibe I felt the second we walked onto Main Street. I usually feel magic in the air whenever I walk into Disney, but it just was not there this time (I cannot explain it). Even the cast members did not seem their usual cheerful self, and one was just downright...well, I don't know what to call him...but the guy who took us onto the Carousel of Progress said into the microphone, "Just remember you all....it might be a 'Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow' for all of you, but for those of us that work here, it's just another tomorrrow." Then he came back to the mic and said "just kidding, folks, it's great to work here" in a voice that sounded like he DID NOT really mean that. I was stunned that a cast member would say something like that! I laughed though, the COP was the last thing we did after Stitch and it was just another reason for me to want to go home :(

Anyway, there were more good points and bad points to the day, but I won't bore you....I just hope it's better next time (and we get to make the tour)!

Mia,I'm sorry your day wasn't that good.

When I went to disney(WDW!) last summer this was what happened....

We went on the Carosel(sp)of Progress.I loved it!While in TomorrowLand we also got in line for The Miniature Indy Cars. After waiting in line for an hour and a half,we got to the front. My Mom felt like she was going to pass out so we had to literally run to the first air-conditioned place.Which happened to be Cosmic Chicken(the restaurant)

At Cosmic Chicken,my mom had to go in the rest room and get a wet paper towel. Then,we had lunch. For the record Cosmic Chicken has horrible food!

After lunch we went to Mickey's ToonTown Fair.We rode the BarnStormer which was fun! Then,we went on Buzz Lightyear! It was the best!!After a while we went Shopping!!I bought a 2004 Mickey.(Which I am holding as I type this!)

The next day we just hung around town and waited until a day later to go to MGM.

At MGM we basically just shopped all day!(I love disney shopping!!!)Then we watched the Motor Parade, which was a blast!

So Mia,everyone has their bad times at WDW.But,at least you still had a good time!(sort of)

Miakoda, I'm glad you got to go to Disney! Sorry you did not have a better time! Still, you got to go to Disney and I'm jealous!! ;) Foam candy sounds pretty scary too. Ah. The things we all do for vmk!

Oh Mia! I'm so sorry that your day did not go well. :grouphug:

On the bright side, at least you did manage to get a few things for yourself.
And I'm sure that the next time you go, it won't be so bad.

Yes, they do (that is, if that's the same thing as Cosmic Rays...I think they have chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers). I had a hot dog there and I think that is what made me sick. At least, I started feeling yucky about an hour after I ate it. and the bun was so hard I had to eat it without the bun.

I'm not too worried that the trip was bad, except that I think my fiance has a bad impression of MK now. I hope I can change that next time we go. I've been countless times and it's always been great, so there has to be at least one time that is bad! Besides, it was not ALL bad...I got to see Philharmagic for the first time, and it was really cool (even though my 3-d glasses were bent so it didn't look quite right  ). I was disappointed that the chairs were not like the ones in the game! Well, from the side they have that shape but I was expecting pink and blue and red! :rotfl: They were all dark blue. Donald's butt hanging out of the wall at the end was hilarious, and the magic carpet scene made me feel like I was actually flying: I got lost in the moment for a....moment.

I just hope after this, coughcoolghoul still wants to buy us season passes for Christmas! :Pinkbounc

I'm glad I'm not alone on that!My little brother loved it though. I hope when we go next summer we don't wind up there.

The phillar magic chairs aren't like the ones in the game!?!?That's crazy talk!

And yes I do hope that coughghoulcool(long name lol)still wants to buy passes!

It's coughcoolghoul, you got it backwards :dog2:

I just hope his name gets approved on VMK someday soon! It's been about 2 weeks I think! Mine took 3 days to get approval.

If your name is not approved, don't they tell you to pick another one when you sign on, or something? Does anyone know if he can just change it to something else somehow? He thinks maybe the word "ghoul" is not acceptable....

Sorry. If he does get rejected, when he logs in the name your character screen shows up.My mule keeps getting rejected.

Sorry,coughcoolghoul didn't mean to srew your name up,I'm a dumb blonde. :rotfl2:

Just a couple of things...

My family likes Cosmic Ray's. We get our stuff from the chicken side like the Caesar Salad. We haven't had any digestive trouble with the food from there. Other places are another story but I won't go there other than to say I'm afraid of any Disney pizza. Well, I suppose I should mention the time I ate at the fancy Chinese restaurant at Epcot which led to me visiting every bathroom around the world and then Future World. It is a very loooong walk from Canada to the Imagination Pavilion, even longer when you are doubled over like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

As for VMK names, they seem to be very behind with those. I think it has to do with all of the new characters created for the Halloween event. My Halloween mules do not have official names yet. They are all Guest11something. The last time I received a message about a guest name change on my friends list, the guest was Guest10something. Based on that, I have about 100,000 guests to go before I find out if my mules' names are allowed on VMK.

Really? Epcot World Showcase food made you sick? That's too bad....I never have eaten in China but we get Sushi in Japan and eat at Germany and France all the time too (Margaritas and churros in Mexico...woot!) My folks really love the indoor Mexican restaurant (I'm not a huge Mexican food fan)...but it is so beautiful in there! It has the best atmosphere of any place in Disney I think. And the shopping is great :)

The Japanese place is awesome (expensive, but awesome) so you should eat there next time!

World Showcase is the only place in Disney that I'm not scared of the food. Honestly, I hate eating at any fast food place in any of the parks (not counting CHURROS!!!!!! Which, by the way, they moved from Frontierland to Fantasyland for some reason...they have been at that same cart across from the shooting gallery since I was 5 years old or before....that was another thing that irked me on our trip!)

~Mia~

I've eaten at several of the World Showcase restaurants and have never had that experience again. The thing that made it funny was my sister was there with us and she made the mistake of trying to use the bathroom while I was in there. :rotfl2: She totally teased me about it the whole time. FYI, she had a different dish and didn't get sick. I was the only one, I can't remember what I had, it was like 17 years ago.

Oh, and back to VMK names, some of my mules were approved today. I'm amazed at what does and what doesn't get approved. Don't give up on coughcoolghoul yet.
