My DF and myself decided to spend 2 weeks in WDW for our honeymoon this September. :cloud9::bride: (We're booking through David's next week for Poly!!) We're both Disney freaks - but obviously you can visit WDW a multitude of times and not see/experience everything! So with that being said what are some hidden gems/must do experiences you can share?! Parks, resorts, etc. Anything helps. I'd love to incorporate some new must dos to make our honeymoon even more special. :lovestruc TIA!

My DH and I spent part of our honeymoon at Disney and had a blast! Some suggestions you might consider:

1) Try a tour. We did Keys to the Kingdom and Wild Africa Trek and loved both. I've also heard great things about the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour.

2) Carriage ride at Fort Wilderness.

3) Hang out with either Yeehaw Bob at Riverside or Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk depending on your tastes.

4) Watch Wishes from a location other than in front of the castle (back near Beast's castle, on the stairs of the Contemporary, from the beach of the GF, exc.).

5) Make reservations for later in the evening at either Jiko or Artist Point. Both are generally more quieter and romantic.

6) See if you can snag reservations to either Dining with an Imagineer or the Wine Tasting at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

7) Rent a pontoon boat at your resort, call in a take-out order from room service and then enjoy the afternoon on the lake.

8) Spend time walking Disney Springs on a Fri or Sat night. Parking will be atrocious, but the atmosphere is a blast with all the entertainment acts, food and bar hopping options available. Try to catch a Cirque du Soleil show.

9) Set aside an entire afternoon/evening to enjoy all the World Showcase has to offer.

10) If you enjoy feeling like kids again consider bowling at Splitsville or trying a round of mini-golf.

Hope you guys have a blast!

We spent our honeymoon at the world and I second the suggestion for the tour...especially the Wild Africa Trek. We did it early in the morning and loved it plus the pictures are such a nice thing to remember it by.
We also scheduled dinner at the California Grille to coincide with the fireworks. It was warm and we were able to watch them from outside. Very romantic.
Whatever you decide, I'm certain you'll enjoy.

We honeymooned in Disney 10 years ago, so a lot of things have changed since then. I highly recommend getting the Minnie bride ears and wearing them around. I wore mine all week and we got so much attention and had so many magical moments because of them. Also, make sure you add that it's your honeymoon to your resort reservations and any dining reservations you make!

Oh my goodness, thank you for all the suggestions!! I will definitely be adding a handful of these to my "wish list". A friend of mine recommended Jellyrolls - I'm really excited to check it out. I love the WS at Epcot. Funny how when you're a kid it isn't as entertaining and now as an adult I am so fascinated and favorite the WS more than FW. :rotfl:

I'm definitely interested in a tour if not this trip one in the near future. Everyone keeps mentioning the Wild Africa Trek and that is right up my alley. Thank you so much for the suggestions, I appreciate it! :thumbsup2

My future MIL and SIL purchased ears for myself and my DF with our names stitched on them when they went this past September (We couldn't go as much as we wanted to, saving for the wedding is crucial). It was such a thoughtful gesture and I can not wait to wear them!! :bride: I didn't think to add that note to our ADR's so I will certainly do so. Thank you!!

We did our honeymoon in May and something we loved was Victoria & Alberts. We actually loved it so much that we called a few days after the first time and they seated us in the Queen Victoria room because of a cancellation for our second visit. Another (non-Disney) thing we enjoyed was at Discovery Cove where we rented a cabana for the day. It was so relaxing after the fun, busy days at the parks.

Victoria & Alberts is definitely a great experience for a honeymoon, it's expensive 500+ for a 3 hour dining experience. But its something special!

We had a magical honeymoon at WDW back in 2005, it was literally the happiest, most fun week of my life! Congratulations to both of you. We decided to go all out, so we booked lots of extras. We did: La Nouba, Victoria and Alberts, a Wishes Fireworks Cruise, and a Breathless Cruise (no longer available). It was simply amazing! If I was going to choose just one of those? I'd pick Victoria and Alberts, but it's your honeymoon! Treat yourselves!

My DF can be a very picky eater and I don't think he will fully enjoy V&A. However maybe some day we will get to enjoy that special dining experience! I looked into DC - it seems like a very cool atmosphere. We are doing US one day so DF can experience the Harry Potter attractions, something he's been wanting to do since it opened up and we've never had the opportunity.

Everyone is raving about V&A! If DF wasn't picky I would love to experience something like this!

Thank you so much! Our first trip just being the two of us was in 2011 and we went to WDW (stayed at CBR) and that was hands down one of the best trips I ever had with my DF. We've done long weekends and whatnot since then but I know this honeymoon is going to be such an incredible bonding experience. We love traveling with one another. I appreciate all your suggestions, I will definitely keep them in mind :goodvibes

next to Jellyrolls is the boardwalk dance hall if you like dancing.

While there is a lot of fun things to do at Disney World, it is your honeymooon. I would take full advantage of the Fast Pass system and "sleep in" a few mornings ;)

In all seriousness, since you are staying at Poly, I would suggest doing the Spirit of Aloha dinner. It's not the same as being at a Hawaaiin Luau, but still pretty darn fun.

Have fun at Universal! We're doing that our next trip I think. As for Victoria and Alberts, they were very accommodating to requests if you guys decide to go at some point. Regardless I hope you have an amazing honeymoon!

hahaha oh we will definitely try to relax as much as we can! ::yes::

I have that on my list of things to try - I keep seeing mix reviews. What's your take on it? Food.. best seating.. etc?

It is on my ultimate bucket list. At some point we would like to purchase DVC points so there will be many, many more trips in our future for sure! Thank you so much - I really appreciate it. We can't wait! :goodvibes

Honestly it has been a while (6 years) since I been to the Spirit of Aloha .. and I went to Hawaii AFTER that and a more "authentic" Luau there .. so my memory of the actual food and experience at Spirit of Aloha is hazy.

My thought is .. why not . .it's right there at your resort ... :). I remember having a good time, but my wife and parents are not picky eaters in any way.
