WDW Merchandise Won't Take Disney Gift Cards

I saw a couple of holiday houses while I was at WDW and thought I would wait until I got home to purchase them. I just called to place an order and told the CM that I had a Disney Gift Card that I wanted to use towards payment and the balance on my credit card. Was told that they don't take the gift cards. WHAT??? It says that the card is good at WDW, DL, DCL, DS.com & Disney Stores. He said that they are the only department that is not set up to take the gift cards over the phone, only in person at the parks. Well that stinks! Had I known, I would have purchased them at the Magic Kingdom and had them shipped home.

Can I purchase items from the parks through Disney Shopping.com or at at Disney Store?

I can not really help with your question but thanks for posting. I just got my kids Disney gift cards for their stockings and it is nice to know this info!

I can not answer for Disneyshopping.com but I can tell you that you can't place an order through the Disney store for park Merchandise. My guess would be no for Disneyshopping.com too though.

Well, I tried e-mailing Disneyshopping.com asking them about this and the first response was "sorry your zip code did not work." What??? E-mailed again indicating that I was not having an issue with a zip code, but rather would like to purchase an item through Disneyshopping.com that I saw at WDW. The next e-mail was "yes, you can use your Disney Gift Card at Disneyshopping.com." Ok, so 2 e-mails later and I still don't have an answer to my original question.

WDW and the Disney shopping are two different things. I have had the same problem calling WDW from home using my Disney Visa card. They are not set up for gift card or rewards cards. However, Disneyland is set up for them. I would try to call California and see if they have the same items. They also have a toll free # 800-362-4533. Good Luck!!

Called the 800 # (thank you by the way). The holiday houses are exclusive to WDW, so I am unable to order them through DL. I was told by DL that I should not have a problem using the gift card with WDW Merchandising (as it can be used with DL Merchandising) and to call back and speak directly with a manager. Am on hold now and will let you know the outcome.

She said that they were told they should be set up to take them by Spring 2007 and that no I can't order WDW merchandise through DisneyShopping.com or at a Disney Store.
