Anyone going down to run the Marathon in January? My DW and I are going to make the Disney Marathon our first. We're both in pretty good shape but have never run a marathon. It's one of the items on our list of must do's in life. Just looked at the course from last year. Looks awesome!

Bottomline, I'm so crazy about Disney that I had to agree to run 26.2 miles to get to go again! My DW drives a hard bargain!!

I'm not running it for 2005, but hope to be back for 2006. Did the 1/2 in 2000, 2003, and the full in 2004.
the course is overall flat, with a few small hills to keep it interesting. I counted at least 36 characters along the course (lots of people will stop for photos, if they're not running for time). The sections through the parks are almost effortless, with crowds/characters/CMs cheering. There are a few more boring parts (between the parks)...the worst for me was between AK and WWOS...long stretch of minimal entertainment, plus my legs were done by that time (mile 19-21).

Have a great time! Weather can do anything, so be prepared! In 2000, it was hot and we just showed up in our shorts and sweated like crazy. The last 2 times, it has been super cold (wind chill was 32 waiting for the start gun last year)...though this year the wind was not as bad as 2003, so it turned out perfect.
