They just had a small segment on my local news about the hiring freeze being lifted. I then went and found an article on the web backing it up. Although they are cutting hours in other areas. ;0(
Walt Disney World Lifts Hiring Freeze

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World has lifted a hiring freeze implemented in February and plans to hire 2,000 workers for summer jobs, officials at the theme park resort said Monday.
But Disney officials also said the resort was cutting its maintenance staff's hours from an average of 40 a week to 35, a sign that the weak economy and the war in Iraq are creating uncertainties for Walt Disney World.
With about 54,000 full-time and part-time jobs, Walt Disney World is central Florida's largest employer.
The hiring will primarily be for jobs involving customer interaction such as merchandising, food and beverages, and housekeeping. They include full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs, said Rena Callahan, a spokeswoman for Walt Disney World.
"It's part of our normal business cycle to prepare for the summer season," Callahan said.
Walt Disney World makes up roughly three-quarters of the operating income for The Walt Disney Co.'s theme park division, according to Merrill Lynch.
The uncertainty created by the war and the economic weakness caused Merrill Lynch analysts last week to lower their second-quarter theme-park operating income estimate by $35 million to $165 million, which would be a decline of 41 percent compared to the same period last year if the estimate proves accurate.
Disneyland, in Anaheim, Calif., relies more heavily on local visitors than Walt Disney World, and has been performing better, the analysts said.
There has been no hiring freeze at Disneyland, which plans to hire 1,500 seasonal and part-time employees for its attractions, food and beverage, custodial, and hotel housekeeping departments this summer, Disneyland spokeswoman Jacquee Polack said.
