Need to move my trip from December of this year to next year and was wondering about maybe going in May. I'd really like to see the Flower & Garden Show, but am concerned it will be really hot and rainy. How hot or rainy does it get at the beginning of May? How crowded does it get? I was thinking it would be cooler in April, but I don't want to deal with those crowds. How late are the parks open in May?

We went last May and had a wonderful time! Would definitely go again!! We went towards the middle/end of May and it only rained once during our weeklong trip, for about 30 minutes. The temperatures were in the mid to high 80s, but humidity was very low so it wasn't a sticky, nasty hot. We were surpirsed by the low crowds. We've been in January before, where the crowds are virtually non-existant, and we thought May ws comparable. The longest wait time we had (not using fast pass) was about 30 minutes, so not too bad. I believe the parks are open until 9, which makes up for the 30 minute waits. I haven't been in April before, but assume that the weather is comparable, but the crowds are a little higher because of spring breaks.

::MickeyMo We were there last May as well and enjoyed it so much that we're going this May as well. It's a fabulous time to go. We went for 11 days and it only rained once for the perhaps the most of an hour. It was a little hotter than I expected. I got a little warm wearing capri's. However, the crowd's were low and we got to do tons of stuff. Fabulous! Can't wait to leave in 3 weeks! ::MinnieMo

May, October (for the F&WF and MNSSHP), and December (for MVMCP) are our 3 favorite times to visit WDW. May is ranked so high because of the weather and the crowds. The weather is warm but not hot and HUMID. And as for the crowds, there are plenty of people in the parks but you don't have to wait in ridiculous lines - usually! ;)

May is our month and we love it as well. Last year we went in the middle of the month and I don't actuall remember any rain come to think of it.

Thanks for your input. I've been to WDW several times during the holidays and thought it would be nice to try a different season there. Plus, I would love to see the Flower & Garden show.

I think May would be a great time to go. All the spring break crowds have gone back to school and the kids are not yet out of summer.

Any of you been during Memorial day weekend?
Was it really crowded or ok to handle???

Actually the weather changes a lot temperature wise here between April and May. In April there is still the chance of some cold nights cool days. I don't remember having a night in May when I thought it was at all cold. It would be a rare May night, especially in the middle and late part of the month, where it dropped below 70 at night.

We've been twice over Memorial Day. It was pretty busy, but not bad if you utilized FP, etc. I remember one year going to Epcot on Memorial Day-we had to wait a long time to get thru security, that was insane! But once we were in, it wasn't bad. DS went on TT, in the single riders line, and he only waited about 15 minutes at 10:30 am. Last year, DH did Richard Petty DE on Memorial Day-after that he doesn't remember anything else about the day! This year we're going to WDW at Thanksgiving, and DH has already said that he thinks he's going to want to go back over Memorial Day weekend next year.
