My son (9) and I are going to WDW June 2004 either the 5th or the 10th for 8 days. I would love to hear from people who have been to WDW in June. I will appreciate any advice you can give me.

Decisions that have been made:
staying at the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista
will get a rental car
have tickets to the Kennedy Space Center.

Thanks a bunch.

Hi, we've gone several times in June do to my job {school bus driver] we've always has a great time!!! It can be very hot , crowded, but managable with fast passes, it usually rains around 3 or 4 in the afternoon for about 1 hour , so a poncho is a must! Your son might really enjoy Universal studios and Islands of adventure which has some good coasters. Any time at Disney world is magical, hope you have a fantastic time!!!!!!!! goof

WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!

We have gone three Junes now and the crowds are moderate and manageable. Three words: HOT HOT HUMID!!!

Get squeeze breezes to keep yourselves cool, take afternoon breaks at the hotel for dips in the pool to cool off (late afternoon terrible hot and humid and sometimes miserable), take advantage of fast passes if the lines are longer, if you have little ones, do extra magic hour for at least MK to get Fantasyland done with smaller crowds, and have a blast!!!!

If you are there the first week in June, avoid MK on June 7 because it is gay day there and it is crowded something terribly there!

Your son will love Disney Quest if he likes video games (boy, 9 years old? hmmmm). It may be his favorite spot. It is my son's favorite spot.

Have fun planning. You may want to head over to the Orlando hotels and attractions board to find info on your hotel and such. We have done Kennedy and it was okay. I was not that thrilled except for the Apollo set up and would have rather spend the day at Vero Beach, but that was just me, you know!

We love going at this time period; the summer crowds have not gotten into full swing and it is warm enough to really enjoy the water parks!

I believe that is Saturday, June 5. We'll be there then for DD's birthday, which is June 7.

HI mom0104! My DS(10) and I will be there June 11-20. Look us up. We always stay onsite. Your DS will love Quest! We did Kennedy in 2002 and actually got to see a shuttle take off! Way cool!!!I didnt think that June was to hot, but I am from Texas. We went in July in 2003, and thought it was worse then. The crowds are managable, but use fast pass when you can. Get as many information guides as you can and read up before you go. I unfortunately did not find THE DIS until after my first trip. Anything you need to know you will find here. If not, just be like me, and ask, and ask, and ask. Everyone has been wonderful whenever I asked a question. If you would like to PM me, I would be happy to give you tips on taking your DS alone. Whatever you decide, just have FUN!

That isn't correct for 2004. We are going to WDW June 5-12 and June 5 is a Sat.
If you are referring to Gay Days, Sat. June 5 is MK. Other than that I'm not sure. But, I've heard MK that day will be crazy crowded, so we are planning on a different park for that day. Have a great trip!! I know we are so excited!!

Oops:crazy: . Looked at the web site for the second time, sure enough that said the 2003 calendar and 2004 will be coming out soon. Not doing June this year, so I was not paying attention to the dates. 2004 was posted all over the web site, but the calendar was for this past year. So, looks like the 5th will be the MK day. So so sorry!

:earseek:

A big thank you to everyone who has been responding. Your information is very valuable. One of these days I might even make up my mind.

Welcome to the DIS:wave2: We have also gone the last 2 years in early June and have a third trip planned for June 2004. We have found the crowds and weather to be very manageable. We are from Texas so the heat and humidity is no stranger to us. Drink lots of water--WDW is great because there are so many attractions that are indoors and air-conditioned. It will rain a little every day so be prepared--we always carry our ponchos and umbrella with us no matter how sunny it is:sunny:

So happy to hear this info. We're taking our first family trip to WDW June 7th through the 14th. I was concerned about the heat and crowds. This eases my mind!

Welcome to the DIS mom0104 and SpecialK :wave2:

We're currently planning for six days around either the first or second weekend in June (won't know for sure for about another month). Had been planning for April but June turned out to be more convenient. The weather in the Summer months is very similar to what we get here in Houston so it will be bearable for us. Just be ready to take lots of breaks, drink lots of water, and don't try to do too much all at once :D

Crowds weren't too bad this year when we were there. We started the 9th (Monday after Gay Day) It was very hot and rained a LOT one day, but we had a great time.

Reconsider staying onsite at a value resort... That way you can take advantage of early opening then jump to a different park. We took in all of fantasyland in about 90 minutes starting at early opening.
