never been in July or August only May, June, sept, Nov. Dec, and Feb. I can say Sept is hot and that is the fall month.

DH was talking with a local in line about the warm weather in Dec. and how HOT Sept. was and etc... She said September is mild compared to July. :scared1:

Have you ever vacationed on the surface of the sun? lol! No, really, it's hot, very, very hot. And it's very crowded. 4th of July week is one of the busiest of the entire year. MK is known to shut down on the 4th due to capacity crowds.

We're local so we had to get used to the surface of the sun heat lol. What we do to survive the heat at WDW is to bring an insulated water bottle to keep our water cool. We refill it with the free cups of ice water throughout the day. We do NOT drink Dasani that they sell at the parks; it has sodium in it that makes you actually more thirsty (seriously it does, read the label!). We also bring mister fans. If you buy them at the park, they're crazy expensive..I think $16 or so. You can buy them at walmart for a few bucks and refill with the water fountains (or ice water) as needed. They are really a lifesaver during the very hot days in July and August. Be sure to wear light colors and bring your sunscreen and sunglasses, of course. A hat to protect your head and shade your eyes is very good too. Taking a break, even if it's just going into some AC attractions during the heat of the day really helps. If you can, head back to your resort for some pool time to cool down during the hottest part of the day.

Crowds at the end of August are really good. Our kids go back to school about mid-August so you won't have many locals either.

It is hot!

We went the week after the 4th of July in 2007 and it was very hot - there were also a lot of people there - not nearly as crowded as Spring Break, but nothing like mid-January either!

The one thing I did not anticipate was how fast we would go through clothing ... DH and I found ourselves putting on fresh clothes every day during the midday break b/c our other clothes were just drenched with perspiration.

July & Aug.=Hot but as a summer vacation goes the later in Aug. you can go the more manageable the crowds are.We were normally the 3rd week and some schools were opening that week:thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We were there this year 7/31-8/4 -- I didn't notice the heat as much as I noticed the humidity. I quickly ditched my Hawaiian shirts and bought sleeveless t-shirts -- and from then on, I was just fine! Bottom line is that we were at WDW, so it was all good!!:thumbsup2

We were just there from July 20 - 25.
Saying it was hot is putting it mildly. It was hot & humid. As soon as we stepped out the door in the morning we were covered in sweat. This was standing in the shade. My girls now look at pictures and you could tell although they were having a good time they were very hot. They say mom it was so hot there.

It was fairly crowded when we went. It was also brazilian tour time as well. One day we went to the Magic Kingdom and as we turned down main street all you could see was a sea of colors (it was the brazilians tour shirts). My kids were amazed.
It only rained a few days but one day it was pouring and that was the best day that we had. We rode all the rides in the rain. My kids loved it.

I am planning on going back in December.

We just returned from our December trip and there PLENTY of crowds and Brazilians! lol! The weather was better than July, though.

We were there this past July 5-9 and it was two things: HOT and HUMID. It was honestly 95 degrees at 7am one day...I'm just not used to that!! LOL!

We did fine though, much to my surprise. Some things I found to be key:

-Drink TONS of water
-Take plenty of breaks
-Take advantage of indoor attractions
-Take a mini-fan, or a misting fan...they were lifesavers!
-If possible, take a mid-afternoon break back to the hotel. Get a nap, take a dip in the pool, or at the very least, take a quick shower and freshen up. It was a lifesaver (especially with a 4 yr old).

We encountered a lot of the tour groups, but they weren't bad. I'd heard horror stories on here, but all the kids we encountered were very nice, lots of the girls were smitten with my DS for some reason....maybe 'cause he's blonde haired/blue eyed and that's not the norm in Brazil? LOL The sheer size of the groups can be annoying IF YOU LET IT BE...but we were just happy to finally be at WDW and didn't mind.

I'm not gonna lie, it's hot, but it's manageable. I'm excited to see what it's like there when it's not a bazillion degrees...we're going back in 3 weeks and I can't wait!!!

It's HOT - miserably HOT and HUMID. Crowds are pretty heavy around the 4th and pretty steady the rest of the month.

Did I mention it was HOT?

Oh and every afternoon about 3:30pm there is a sudden thunderstorm that just makes the humidity worse. The storms last 30-45 minutes usually so it isn't enough time to truly cool things off.

Oh, and one more thing - it is HOT!

Its not bad as if you like walking on the sun! :lmao:
We went in July the first time. It was so hot, i was dripping water from a bottle on my son's head just to keep him from getting overheated. the crowds are so unbearable. it was just wall to wall people everywhere! the wait times for rides we ridiculous! the wait time board for splash mountain said 6:52 which i am guessing was 6 hours and 52 minutes because the line was so long and there was NO WAY it was 6 minutes and 52 seconds:rotfl:
we took three kids with us. at the time they were 18 months, 8 and 11. we vowed to never go to Disney again and i was so disappointed because i had wanted to go there my entire life!
if you go, wear tank tops! bring TONS of sunblock and water!!!!!lots of water!

we did however decide to go back eventually but i did my research. i found october to be a great time. they had the halloween party and the weather was still hot enough for swimming. we are going again next september. i hope the weather is just as nice as it was in october.

We were there from August 13-19th.

It was hot. But it's Florida in summer; you already knew that.

One thing that was a tremendous help was our supply of Misty Mate Misters. We got them at BJs Warehouse for 3/$25. They were a Godsend, and would have been at double the price.

We started our days early, then hit the pool in mid afternoon.

Try www.touringplans.com for ideas on beating the crowds. We waited for only one LONG line-- the day I insisted on doing laundry and we got to Hollywood Studios too late to fastpass Toy Story Mania. That cost us 90 minutes. Beyond that, we waited on no line longer than 20 minutes or so.

Have a wonderful trip!!

When we went it was actually unusually cooler than it normally is byt we had a few days that were extremely hot. Plan for breaks and go swimming and you should be ok. As far as crowds... it was definately more crowded than Oct.

We've visited three different Julys (2003, 2006, and 2007). In 2008, we switched from July to early August.

Heat is rough, but manageable if you take the precautions others have listed. However, we MUCH preferred August because those Brazilians were gone. They cause some real havoc in touring and enjoying shows, and we found August is much less stressful simply because they're gone.
