With all of this hurricane talk, how about all you hurricane survivors who were at WDW when one blew threw check in here and share any experiences....Also any tips for those who have not been there during one would be helpful to everyone too..

I am a hurricane survivor...we were in 2001 right after 9/11 maybe on the 13th or 14th, I have forgotten exactly when it blew threw..It kinda crept up on us as all the news was on 9/11 and little coverage of the expected hurricane till it was almost on top of us there..Very, very windy and rain blowing sideways, also lots of lightening and thunder and a tornado touched down just to the west of Kissimmee near Winter Haven if I remember right..We went to Epcot and stayed mostly inside attractions that day, it got better late in the day if I remember right..

Blueberry...We were also there after 9/11. The storm you are referring to was Gabrielle. I believe that when it went over Fl it was still a TS then developed into a hurricane. We were wet and COLD in that storm. It is the only time we have worn sweatshirts at WDW.
We were also there during Hurricane Floyd in 1999. This one closed WDW for the 1st time in history. It was an experience. ;)
We were also there during the 2nd time WDW closed...9/11.

So I don't know what that says about us...either we are jinxed or we just visit WDW too much. lol.:smooth:
